Nice review! I drove both ... and bought an A110S. For me the perfect sports car without any compromise to luggage or image! I use others cars for other needs - but for best road experience and small trips the A110S is my daily favourite and smiling every day! 👍👍👍😁
Fantastic choice! Have you seen the Life110 upgrades? Seems the geometry setup for the S makes a world of difference to the on-road manners. Thanks for watching! 😁👍 - Tim
@@BOTBreviews Yes. I read about the Life110 upgrades. Here in Austria maybe not possible to get. Right now no change of my A110S, but in 2021 planning of an update is possible. 👍 - Thomas.
Overpriced for a car that shares so many parts with a clio, also the paddle shifters are weirdly placed and the space between the paddle shifter and the blinker handle is too small, on a track that'll cause trouble, the Porsche is better in every way but most where is matters, the track. It's 1.5 seconds faster on a 47 second track, thats a lot.
As realistically I'll be taking a laptop, a phone and maybe a drink - I'm fine for practicality on the Alpine, and am picking up a blue premiere edition on Saturday - cannot wait!
Nice review, however performance isn’t just about 0-60mph, you need to consider braking, suspension, stability, traction etc etc The Alpine will certainly be better under braking due to its lower overall weight , these are sports cars so ideally it would be great if the review had gone into these in a little more depth. Have owned 11Porches and 2 Alpine’s , haven’t driven the new Alpine , however the Alpine I believe is the more focused drivers car , therefore would be my choice 👍
yeah but they didn´t even reviewed the performance after 0-60 the sayed the Porsche has an bigger engine and so he won performance but thats make absolutly no sense. After this logic an Scania would have an better performance then both of these cars.
Great quality review. I really want an A110 but just could not live with the lack of luggage space. Such a shame they couldn’t design in a just a bit more in cabin and frunk/boot. Maybe next time
Very nice comparison made me play some tickets on the A110. It's a bargain compared to that Porsche. I think that the Alpine is actually a better car overall than its rival. Cheers!
Perhaps a different answer to which one “wins” and which one you’d buy with your own money ?? I’d love the Alpine, but from a long term ownership perspective, I’d probably go Cayman.
You confuse 'design' with appearance, when any designer will tell you that it's a combination of function/ergonomics, form and economics (although designers like to think they are above such things 😉), all blended with materials and performance criteria. So to give a score for 'design' alone is, well, a bit leaden.
WAIT... so the Porsche won on performance because it has bigger figures but a slower 0 - 60?? Do you guys not get that the Alpines whole point is small figures but with that comes lightweight and therefore, better performance than cars with bigger numbers. The Alpine runs rings around a GT4 and this Cayman isn't anything compared to that LOOL... Interior design was completely overlooked and only "practicality" was judged.. bad review guys.
let’s be honest, the porsche‘s interior is way superior to the alpine. It‘s infotainment system sucks, it has buttons that do nothing and weird volume control. Big fan of the alpine though. Hope the used market gets cheaper in a couple of years. I prefer the exige over both of them though.
Nice review Chaps. I watch A LOT of car content on TH-cam and this was refreshingly relevant. Simple format, well shot with clear categories and you guys seem to get on well. As a potential buyer you do need to see inside boots and seat comfort etc, as well as performance and fun. Have just subscribed. The Apline is a great clean sheet design that maximises fun, focus and individuality but is a Lotus Elsie / Exige killer. The lack of space isn’t going to help on the everyday stuff or taking your other half away for the weekend. Ends up being a second/ third car or toy. Sadly that’s a smaller market place than the Porsche appeals to. The Cayman is clearly the more rounded product and you could do a lot more with it as your only car. More a Supra / Z4 rival. IMHO
Thanks for the kind words and for watching/subscribing! 👍 Agree fully that as an everyday proposition the Cayman takes it, though the rude comfort and low running costs work in the favour of the Alpine. There’s enough room for shopping in the Alpine, and even enough for a weekend away, so that’s still where my money would go - Tim
the local rail replacement bus has more power, torque and grunt than the cayman, ok its slower than the porsche buts its got to make it the winner for performance. the bus from 2005 beats the cayman on practicality, performance and cost....(i dont get the logic of the performance conclusion in the video)
Cayman is very good, one of Porsches better cars. A110 is better still, at 300kg lighter in every way. That is the weight of me on my motorcycle as baggage.

I respect your choice for every use case there is another car.
The engine in that Porsche sounds like a blender, it does not sound anything like a Porsche, it has no chance against the A110 as a sports car, 718 4.0 GTS is the real Porsche to get within the 718 range. Practicality apart, A110 is the one for me with an organic feel that the synthetic 718 with its underwhelming four pot engine.
The Alpine looks like a toy car, it's awful. I really struggle to understand this, the Porsche is a way better car, not just looks wise and most reviews would agree with that.

I've never loved the Cayman/boxster hence I go with the A110.
Give the Alpine 50 liters of boot space more and it's the obvious choice 🙂 sadly this isn't the case

WTF with the porsche pricing? The 'necessary' options are very expensive. Can you actually buy a base model?
You can, but the dealership will hate you doing it

There are certain options that improve the drive, basically the Cayman T has all the best options already specced and is far better value.
