Still the best video on how to do this in 2021! I know nothing about plumbing, but I can follow your steps. Off to get the filter now. Thank you so much. Thumbs up!
Wonderful video! Thanks so much for doing this. My husband and I just changed our filter with no problems. We don't have a red button but we do have a screw on top and a release valve on the bottom so we used both to release the pressure. Life is good!
Thank you for this very helpful video. I've never had to change the filter myself until now, and there are several things in this video that I would not have known to do. You made it easy! And thanks for mentioning that some people pour out the o-ring with the filter. The ring fell out when I dropped the filter housing, and I knew to look for it.
Thanks for this video! Much appreciated you showing the actual angle to turn. I wanted to be sure before really torquing it so as not to break something... Worked like a charm.
How do you keep the filter from shifting in the canister. Mine keeps shifting and it is impossible to get it to seat in the upper top part, consequently I can't get a good seal. Without the filter in the canister, I can get a perfect seal with a hand tighten. I finally had to put the canister back on without the filter so I can have water tonight ( I don't have a bypass). I'm using a universal 2.5" Carbon Wrap Sediment Filter. It measures exactly like the one I removed. Maybe there is some subtle difference, ugggh!!!! Any suggestions?
You can try adding 3-5 inches of water to the bottom of the bowl so the filter floats a little. This will allow the filter to stick up higher than the top of the bowl. You will then need to make sure it slips over the bottom centering post. A clear filter bowl makes this easier
I noticed after changing mine, water does not run out my upper bathroom faucet and showers but it does elsewhere. I ran these faucets for 10 minutes and nothing came out.
If your water filter housing has been tightened too much and you're unable to loosen it, you can try sliding a small length of pipe on the handle of the water filter wrench for more leverage.
I hate you! I’ve been trying for an hour with ever tool I own, including the wrap around strap & I cannot get the sucker loose. You step up to it & off it comes.......grrrrrrr
Most informative video that I've found on changing a house water filter. You mentioned opening the faucets, which many other videos failed to do.
Concise and clear information on the steps to properly change a filter. Thanks

SO helpful. Thanks for the effort!
Any reason why my filter doesn’t fill up all the way after replacing it and turning water on?
This helped tremendously!!!! Thanks
what if there is a pipe attached to the bottom on the filter glass casing?

Super helpful - thank you!!
On that type of softener isn't the filter supposed to be before the softener.
Thanks!
