dougeveland1689. The You are posting this as a reply to mikeoliver861, not to Rory. You are down in my comment I made telling him how much I appreciate his videos, and how much he has helped my game.
Really liked this video,it was more about what to do instead of picking apart what not to do that can come across as pretty negative. This was very positive. good tips.
This was one of your best videos, Rory! It was very good to have the replays and slow motion segements so that the variables could be analyzed. Though the viedos capture the 3-D eve ts, it's displyed in 2-D on the screen and so, depth perception becomes an issue sometimes. I found all your comments constructive and useful. Noice!
I love the store items. Hope the baseball caps work out but they are very casual. I would love to see an athletic type flex fit or synthetic moisture wicking blend. My local club does offer those, and I actually wear them in games.
I'm not sure why that is happening. I tried on my phone and computer and I can see the name of the colors and I can scroll and see the different colored shirts.
If I can do a little picking apart of my own... This is about the plug for your swag store, Rory. Let me start by saying I like your channel. :) First, a "quick time-out" should not be over a minute. On some of your shorter videos, this is 10% or more of the runtime. Quick should be 30 seconds. Second, "a new business venture" is something I've seen in emails from crypto bros, NFT bros, and the like. Don't associate with them, even accidentally. You have pickleball swag. This is a cool thing. People watching your videos like pickleball (obviously), and folks in general like swag. Tell us right away what's going on. A la... "A quick timeout to tell you I've opened a shop with the coolest pickleball swag on the internet." Then talk a little, show us some pics, drop the link, and get us back to the video in about 30 seconds. Like pickleball, copywriting is a learned skill, and you get better with practice. I'm about a 3.25 pickleball player, but probably a 4.0 when it comes to writing copy. I've needed to learn, and I've been fortunate enough to learn from a few smart people.
Thanks for your advice. You're right. It should be a thirty. I sold radio and TV advertising for 30 years. I should know better. I'm going to produce a thirty.
One of the most common unforced errors I see in open-play pickleball (especially 3.0 and below) is when the player at the NVZ tries to slam a high, descending ball. The put-away looks easy but more often than not, the ball goes into the net. The player would be better off with a ready position as you mention in tip #8 with the paddle face in a backhand position (at least 45 degrees toward the full back hand)) and learn to PUNCH not swing at the ball. You can vary your grip to control the pace. One coach I know will stand at the baseline and drive the ball hard right at the student at the NVZ. He alternates between asking the the student to loosen their grip, block and drop the ball or tighten their grip, punch and drive it at his feet. When you swing, the paddle angle is constantly changing making it difficult to control the path of the ball. With that said, if you have great hand/eye coordination, fast hands and perfect timing, swing all you want.
Hey Rory, great tips! In most of your videos, you advocate for drop shots and usually do not like when players hit a drive. But you have mentioned that drives are at times appropriate. Any tips about when this is so? Thanks
Thanks for the compliment and thanks for asking. A lot of higher level players will hit a third shot drive followed up with a fifth shot drop. I think the time to hit a drive on the third shot is when the return of serve is very shallow. Like a few feet just beyond the kitchen line. Run up and drive it.
@@pickleballpick-apart9787 When the return is very shallow, I find myself rushing up to the NVZ to save it and not in a position to drive the ball. What do you suggest would be the best strategy at this point?
I wish I could show this video to some of the newer male players out there. I say male players only because I haven't seen any female players so fixated on slicing/spinning the ball as of yet. By newer players I'm referring to anyone who has played for less than 3 months. They barely know how to score and they're trying to spin every return, every dink, every serve. Their success rate is so low that it's embarrassing. If they just hit it straight on they would make less errors. It also makes getting a good rally going nearly impossible. Aaargh.

That's so nice of which you to say. I really appreciate it.
I’ve done the same at our pickup games. I watch Pickleball-Pick-a-part. Good stuff. Hit those 3rd drops.. so important.
Quit referring to senior players “old men”. Very disrespectful. You don’t look that young yourself so u might want to reconsider your language

OMG, love your opinions, slowdowns, and replays on this video! THIS is learning from others' mistakes!! Thanks, Rory! EXCELLENT!!!
Thanks so much! I appreciate it.

Veey good pick a part!! Your content is getting better and better. Keep it ip!! 👏
Thanks so much. I really appreciate it.
At 17:19 I call a foot fault in the NVZ.
Nice catch. Those hardly ever get called. Thanks for watching.
Good tips, now to go out and apply them. . .
Yes! That's sometimes the hard part! Thanks for watching.
These were awesome. I really appreciate them ❤
You're welcome! Thanks for watching.
Dangit Rob! Take the blinders off! 😂😂 Thanks for the very helpful videos. 👍🏽

Awesome! Thanks for the nice comment.
Thank you for your videos...at 17:31 the player also looks to have a foot fault with his foot on the kitchen line...what do you think?
I'm sure you're right. I'd have to go back and take a look. That usually is not called. Thanks for watching.
“The Old Man” lol
Yep.
Great video!
Thanks! I appreciate it.
Well done on this video! 👏🙌
Thanks! I appreciate you watching.
Good tips and great job on showing what you are talking about.
Thanks so much! I really appreciate you watching.
As an ex-marathon runner, I like your shirt :)
Haha! Yeah, like I could run a marathon!
Please do more gameplay analysis for Rob and the old man! Its better than whats on netflix
Haha! Thanks for watching!
Great tips!
Glad you like them!

Glad you like them. Unfortunately, those types of caps are not available from the supplier. There are moisture wicking shirts.
Hi - we are shopping at Pickleball Printables but cannot see a color palette for the T Shirt color options. Is it there somewhere?
I'm not sure why that is happening. I tried on my phone and computer and I can see the name of the colors and I can scroll and see the different colored shirts.

Hey Rory, I love that edge tape you have! May I ask where you bought it? I want to put some on my DBD.
I bought a pack that had roles with four different colors at my Home Depot. Thanks for watching.
Hilarious commentary
Glad you found it funny. Thanks for watching!
The last thing v you want to do, is stand there and admire your great shot!

I hear your frustration! I see that happening all of the time. Beginners should all just stop it with the slice spin. Thanks for watching.
