    Thanks for the transparency. I was confused between getting an AD600bm & 400pro. I'll go for the 400pro!

    I've been using the Flashpoint(Adorama branded Godox) speedlights for paid work a few years now. Other than a shoe mount going bad(which Adorama remedied quickly) they've proven themselves to be more than capable, particularly for the price. Since I shoot with Fuji's, and their OEM speedlights suck, 3rd party is the only way to go for me.
    That said, I couldn't help myself when Adorama had the AD200's drastically reduced for Black Friday($219USD). I haven't been using them much for work yet as I am still getting used to setting them up in a way that works well for me, but so far I am liking them. What I can't do is justify the expense of AD400/600 lines for my particular needs. If I need more power, which is incredibly rare, I still have a pair of Flashpoint 'Studio 300' AC powered strobes(Godox SK300). I also have Adorama and others relatively close to me so, if a job really required something else, renting a few Profoto's isn't out of the question. That brings me to my last point...
    Lots of people, particularly those already heavily invested in Profoto or Broncolor, will scoff at Godox/Cheetah/Flashpoint/etc lights. In most cases those people have NEVER used one, and in almost all cases they project their needs upon everyone. Are they the most color accurate across their power range compared to Profoto? No, but not everyone is shooting product photography for catalogs or models in detailed makeup for the cover of Vogue(neither are most of the naysayers either, they just need to defend their purchases). Can the triggers be glitchy/unreliable under some circumstances? Sure, but not everyone is shooting sporting events or similar where a strobe failing to fire can make or break the job. That is not to say Godox lights CAN'T do those thing as many people do use them in such a manner, just that it is usually a slightly different process.

      You've said it all. Thank you soo much for your comment. A lot of people get carried away with huge name brands and forget how good the godox lights are. I started shooting off camera outdoors with a yongnuo speedlight and it worked perfectly for me then. Once again thanks for your insight.

      @@PrinceMeyson I started with manual Vivitar 283/285's, sync cords and optical slaves. Back then I would have given anything for speedlights that I could trigger and adjust wirelessly like the current Godox line. Throw in lithium batteries for all day shooting and faster recycling times(no more add-on/external power packs) and they truly are impossible to beat for the price.
      Don't get me wrong, I have used Profoto lights and they are AWESOME but there is no way I could justify the financial outlay for my uses. Plus they don't make a Fuji compatible A1 so I would be out of luck for on camera flash if I got into the Profoto system.

    Godox😁.. can use the same radio triggers for their small speedlights, through V860IIs, round-head V1's, AD200s, AD300s, AD400s, AD600s, the new AD1200 Pro, & the AC monolights; the 200s through 1200s have 9 stops of manual control, TTL, HSS, repeat, TTL-to-manual TCM, masking, powerful modeling lights [AD200 with round head], battery-powered/AC adapters [AD400 up], extension heads; you can put 2 AD200s in an AD-B2 adapter for 400 ws, can plug 2 AD600s into a 1200 ws ext head; the AD400 has adapters for Bowen/Profoto/Elinchrom/Broncolor modifiers; & Godox has ~ 5 different lines of inexpensive AC-powered studio strobes.. AND THEN😁.. we talk about Cheetahstand modifiers😁😁.

    Right now, my Kit consists of 2X AD200's, 1X AD360 Streaklight, 1X AD600.
    I don't own the pro models of any of the lights.
    I use the 200's & 360 more because of portability but if you need to beat the sun... that AD600 is beeeautiful.

    I think I'm going to pick up the 400 Pro. I travel a lot and do a lot of shooting on location. So tired of carrying around my Alienbees, my vegabond, light modifiers etc etc. This is simple and something I can carry easier. Though my question is how is the light if you use this without a modifier? Or can you recommend a good, portable modifier that will go with it? I like beauty dishes. But getting them on planes is not worth the headache. And I don't want to put up and take apart my octobox all the time.

    Amazing content Prince! thank you, but wanted to ask your opinion on, what's the main difference between the 600pro over the 600bm? is it recycling time and cost only? this is driving me crazy, as I really don't need to shoot at noon time with the sun over me. here is the pricing line in B&H. AD600Pro $899 AD600BM $549, AD400Pro $649, AD300pro $499.00. Thank you again!!

  • @jstolba
    @jstolba 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey, I just bought two cheap, used AC-lights. They work well, but I am very disappointed with the recycle-time. They take roughly 1sec to reload. I bought studio flashes mainly for one reason: my speedlights were to slow to reload. I am using the studio-flashes at approx. 50% power, yet they still need almost a second to reload. Is this normal, what is the recycle time with your godox lights?
