Hi Ina, just a suggestion… Can you interview a Certified Financial Advisor to give financial advice to new immigrants? It is not enough to earn high salary . Financial literacy in Canada like how to save for retirement or save for down payment for first home is also very important .
I had the same concern before I moved here. Sino magiging kaibigan ko? Like what was said, iba din kasi if pareho kayo background kasi mas madali maka-relate. I'm glad we had friends from university who also migrated here. Di na namin sila friends, sila na ang family namin dito. Mga kids nila (we don't have our own) pag sinasabi namin sana they end up together, find it gross kasi feeling magpipinsan. Tapos we've made friends along the way, kaya marami na circles na iniikutan. I've also made friends with people I met online, sa Filipino groups and some of them have become part of our inner circle. Eventually, we evolve naman and the longer we stay, the more shared experiences we'll have with others that can be a common ground, and be the start of friendship. And marami na din nagdedecide to move here, kaya nagkakaroon na ng reunions and rekindled friendships.
Us too. 3 of us are here in Canada! Been friends since Elementary school. 33 years of sisterhood. We just had a trip together last month.
