Note: From 00:48 to 02:30, the video quality might be low, but at least it's better than having no music at all, plus no copyright issue. Thanks for watching!

Here's are the things in the anime that is faithful to the manga,
      1. The future teammates of RWBY became friends similarly the same way in the manga though it wasn't in a huge bedroom.
      2. Cinder is barely seen like in the manga.
      3. Ruby is as afraid to make friends as in the manga.
      4. Weiss Schnee isn't the American version of Sakura Haruno.
5 and this is by far my favourite. Weiss has an emotional black and white (tsundere) approach to Ruby, sometimes she's belittling her for acting like a child and other times she's admiring Ruby for being stupidly caring and brave.
      6. Blake accidentally reveals herself in the streets in the daytime.

I’m not gonna lie...I kinda like the old version better considering there’s more fighting and it feels like it moves faster. The new one feels a little exposition heavy and like it’s cutting in on the fighting time. Also, the old one’s camera angles were a little more dynamic during the fighting, but more stagnant during the beginning compared to the new one.

There are two types of people, those who only cares about the fight scene and those who are invested in the lore....
Well i understand your point but both 2d and 3d animation have they're own benefits, 3d motion are done by humans/cgi thus have room for movement but lacks/cost more for details while 2d is easier for designing but is bound to 24-30-60 frames

I love the lore, don’t get me wrong, but I personally prefer “show, don’t tell.” I always feel like I’m getting spoon fed the information otherwise. I also hate when we, (the watchers), are forced to sit through multiple minutes of dialogue for something that we can pick up from simply being observant. I like when shows treat me with a little more intelligence than a kid’s show, (but even as a child I greatly disliked that so maybe I just like picking it up myself). Sure, I like when a show is explaining an interesting concept that couldn’t really be shown, but especially with this scene all they needed to do was be shown breaking into the train, a shot of the dust, (as we soon learn the importance of, maybe they could use a little in their escape so we have a hint to its true capabilities), and maybe have a short conversation showing their opposing feelings on humans and that the rest of the White Fang will be pleased. That’s all. From that we can pick up a good portion of the information for the future, while also being treated as if we’re peering in on an actual conversation and interaction, rather than being overly explained to even though all present parties already understand and know this information, ya know?

@@aisuhd What lore has the anime showned anyway the og had more lore thanks to the history episodes, everything on the first season was world build up and character development we got to know a little about everyone, on the anime we are expected to know who everyone is so they cut everything lore related and skimmed most of the events fast forward to next arc, they only added extra details on weiss overall and the relation of ruby's family but cut everything else. I will still watch the whole series but overall i aint impress in the writing.
i have seen amazing 2d fight scenes in the past this wasnt one of the best but it was servisable it was inconsistent overall sometimes you get really high detail and then randomly drops out of nowhere, most of the shots that were highly detail were pv shots to get viewers hooked in.
Something that i didnt like is that they made weiss more of a cry baby then a prideful cold mean girl.

Sadly the anime version doesn't even come close to the original. The most disappointing thing about it is that it could have if they tried as we see with certain fights like against the borbitusk and the Nevermore.
At least have Adam do his Moonslice once like come on bruh.
On the positive side, I'm really liking Adam's characterization *way* more than the original. Him letting Blake go to learn about the truth of the world is something I wish that was in the original.

Adam’s fight scenes getting toned down is understandable. It’s hard to Style in Blade Mode. Cutting his ult tho, that’s low.
Blake’s ribbon tho? It has no sense of flow, just floats up to enemies like the ghost dog in Nightmare Before Christmas. And instead of cutting them with boomerang spin, it just…shoots them in the head?? The whole point of rope weapons is a sense of pendulum momentum and that’s completely gone here. It’s just a noodly appendage.

I can see why a lot of people like the original better from an action standpoint, but, in terms of series consistency, the anime did a much better job at keeping things grounded, imo. Adam feels like an actual character and Blake's unease throughout is much clearer, rather the wtf moment of her leaving in the original.
The biggest thing that the anime got right, though, is the exclusion of the giant mech robot. Sure, it looks cool as hell and Adam gets to show off Moonslice, but we never see this type of weapon again, when Atlas sure could've used something like it during Salem's attacks.

If there's one thing that genuinely fell flat for me with these first few episodes of the anime, it's the way they animated Blake's whip actions. Everything else was on a scale of 'fine' to 'cool', but the way Blake's gun just seemed to float between shots absolutely did not work for me.
That said, I definitely still enjoyed the anime thus far, and highly anticipate that it will switch gears from this point forward with original content that - one can hope - will have more flair and effort put into it. The first three episodes are clearly intended as quick 'let's get this part out of the way' setup. I'm interested to see just how AU this gets following the Nightmares.

As for the fights itself, we LITERALLY see Blake standing still just shooting inanimate object that may as well be the wall without it feeling like there is a sense of speed.
The original felt fast and powerful, anime felt clunky.

    Man, people need to understand.
3D, with average budget and a good animator, will produce a good 3d animation with a good flow.
2D with average budget and a good animator, will still not produce the same standard as 3D in terms of flow
It is useless to compare both because 2D is being restricted by the frames they have to make. 2D doesn't have 3D freedom for making continuous animation flow.
You can't demand a animation flow like a 3D into a 2D without giving a high budget which means more frames to make.
The detailed 2D animation you have seen either have high budget to make from frames or they mix 3D and blend it into 2D.

My biggest issue and complaint is that this completely ruins/gets rid of the build up and surprise of Blake being a Faunus. @@mastertjt56 Its not an excuse when that’s how it works? 2D animation is much harder and more expensive, both monetarily and time-wise. The studio has to pick and choose what to adapt, what to change, and what scenes get the most focus within a set schedule. They were paid to do a 12 episode tv anime with an original story that diverges away from the original RoosterTeeth production.
If you’ve seen how 99% of anime is animated, you’ll see that Ice Queendom is doing nothing out of the ordinary. If it was Studio Orange, the new anime would’ve been in made with 3D animation in mind, but I’m sure they were too busy with the new Trigun anime.
All in all, if you want RWBY with a focus on fights and character moments, the original is way better in terms of that up until the end of Vol 3 and then it goes downhill. Seeing as this is written by Gen Urobuchi, fights and those same character moments won’t be the focus, but the narrative will. I have full faith in him seeing as he’s written Madoka Magica, Psycho-Pass and Saya no Uta, all of which have a masterful narrative. Just keep an eye on it and give it a try once it’s all said and done.

@@BlackGrailKiara Okay, I'll admit this. Production of 2D animation with the budget for a 12 episode length tv anime series with the limitations of having to closely follow the original storyline of Rooster Teeth's productions with it's own original narrative and moreso is quite difficult, especially having to adapt a 3d model animation into a 2d, hand-drawn product. Following this? Awesome.
The circumstances are far from similar. Monty Oum- Bless him- Had not only to create an entirely original story, but build the foundations for it all and actually make sense of it while steering the narrative into the direction he wants it to take. Icequeedom is moreso a recreation- Meant to evoke what makes RWBY what it is while also trying to flesh out the narrative. The issue with 3d- Here's an example to one of RWBY's VOL 1 faults- modeling. It was the impotence of the world itself. Populated, designated areas brimming with life was anything but, the city of Vale and the students at beacon themselves were there but not given anything at all to make their inclusion have substance. Characters were usually literal shadow model depictions with no identifying feature's to the extent calling them nobodies were a kind mercy, large crowds of characters usually occupy the backgrounds even using the models of pre-existing characters like when Ozpin made his speech or in Beacon's locker room. They did nothing to expand the world. They were included to make it not feel lifeless but the difficulties and folly's of 3d animations reared its head. In other words, this:
Icequeedom fixes this issue. Ruby has explained during her trip to the City of Vale the nature of Remnants' technological advancement by showcasing it. People(Who at least looked basic) crowded the streets of Vale, stop lights were in the form of a somewhat interactive, digital screen. Ruby explored shops, a cafe and even shown advanced technology and architecture and shown exactly what they were capable of. Students of Beacon acknowledged Pyhrra's existence with unveiled awe and respect in the locker rooms as homage to her status as Mistral's annual tournament winner and fame. The interactions between Ruby, Yang and their family they're leaving behind and even showcasing Ruby speaking to Summer's grave to explain her character motivations at the start are also other great examples of their differences.
Now. Sorry for derailing the argument, but in conclusion: The difference between the animation styles is staggering. They take a long time to improve upon and master like any form of art. One may seem "easier" than the other but remember the differences and variables in production's budget, staff, styles, writing and the work itself. The original showcased the conception of everything they wanted to include in order to flesh out their world but needed a spinoff to attempt to convey it properly. Icequeedom's development is no easier or harder than OG RWBY'S. IQD needed to create new things and expand upon the foundations of concepts the original couldn't. Hell, the original needed to create the world in question and how everything worked anyways, something IQD doesn't. IQD needed exposition to explain some parts of the world the OG show left behind for fight scenes or because they feeded the viewers all we needed to know, not what we wanted. The chorography and framework is more solid I the original but animating some of their fast paced action sequences two for two or even comedy bits wasn't possible so they improvised. The dialogue, the interactions and progression- let alone the things I'm not mentioning are all different. It's unjust to compare two drastically different things. One only has an abridged version of like what, 12 episodes+ two trailers. Man.

It's sad the amount of people that just walk in with predijuce, some are so biased it's obvious they have never seen any anime, or heard of SHAFT. The simplistic artstyle coupled with the stellar motion of the animation, with consistent designs is why SHAFT is actually a perfect choice for this. IS anyone stupid enough to compare ANYONE to Monty? It's actually an insult. Monty was a prodigy, a one in million. Comparing people with passion to his standards just to please your greedy eyes is selfish. I think SHAFT did justice to the fights that NEEDED it in context of the anime. One's that were watered down or not included hardly served any purpose other than being cool.

3d is made in 3d space and 2d in 2d space, if fans would understand a little bit of this, they'll know how hard it is to do dynamic camera angles for every fight scene. Background is not the problem, it can be done in 3d, but matching 2d characters with it require immense work and more frames. The main budget went into Ruby vs White Fang fight, and it looks gorgeous. But moving forward, fans would have less to complain about because anime story would take original path, so no more fights scenes to compare to.

How is it predijuce when they watched it, also the standard of 2d fights wasnt amazing even on 2d standard, there are plenty of works that done 2d fights that were amazing, the budget was wasted on pv trailer shots which increased the expectation that the anime was going to looked like the pv but was unable to deliver. I mean even a newcomer who came in and didn't watch rwby og wouldn't be invested on this, the story was non-existant and everything was rushed you are expected to watch the og to enjoy the show in the first place. Either your standards are super low or haven't watched enough shows to see others works.

@@rationaldemon195 I don't know what else you're expecting. The fights were good. If you're comparing it best selling manga adaptations, then it makes no sense since those have higher budget. Also don't forget it's not only the animation that makes it a masterpiece. Take Madoka Magica for example, one of the best works of Studio Shaft. The animation quality was meme worthy at the time of airing, but after it got praise, not only it got sequel, but also remake as 2 movies with higher budget.
And it's only been 3 episodes, and there are atleast 3 animation sequences which I already love. Maybe it's not upto your taste, but it doesn't make the fight scenes bad.

@@SahilKumar-zp8fx I had no expectations when watching the show, i was more curious to see where it was going and overall it was a underwhelming project maybe you have lower standards but i didn't enjoyed it so far,
im being reasonable here by treating it as a independent work but even then, it managed to screw that up, if you were to show anyone who hasn't watched rwby before do you honestly think they would enjoy these 3 episodes so far, be honest with me. I only hear fanboism on shaft which is pretty biased imho. Maybe you should watch other works too and question yourself why was this anime good so far.

I haven’t watched it yet, but a huge part of the story telling us that you’re supposed to learn she’s a Faunus alongside the other characters. I’m all for more plot but I just can’t get over that detail. Also, the action in the anime can’t even be compared to the original. A big thing about the scene was the combination of the action and the music, not the plot. It was so mysterious. Idk, I guess I’m just disappointed.

Boy am i glad i ripped my heart out and crushed it ages again so that i couldn’t give less of a shit about this kind of stuff. Yes i will agree the action scene isn’ t as good as in the Black Trailer, but from a writing standpoint, this blows the Black trailer out of the water in every way possible. Not only does Adam feel way more consistent here than in the series, letting his obsession for Blake be much more subtle than it coming right the fuck out of nowhere in the original, But Blake’s heal turn also feels allot more earned this time around. Feels allot more in character than last time.

They cut out the meat and potatoes of the whole scene that got people hooked on the first place. The material is there to use, not much issues to solve other than the minor ones. The personal trailers were made to show off the characters and their abilities. Which they fell short of this anime. I've notice they even cut corners for basic fight encounters. Like oh there's an explosion over there then they cut to elsewhere then cut back to the scene of engagement when it's all over. It feels cheap. It's like they build up to expect something then don't deliver. It kinda half hearted. After so long the series is pretty much dead not many care much for it anymore. It wasn't the show it was the people who ran the show after Monty died...

Huh, well it's easily the best of the trailer remakes since for half the runtime time it's better(getting to the fight area and after the fight) and half the runtime time it's worse(all the fights) than the original.
I'm not really taking into account the ears/bow reveal being spoiled since the implications matter to the long term story not the trailer itself, also ignoring the dialogue quality since on the one hand voice acting in the original was awful, but on the other hand the writing for the train scene in the remake felt really unnecessary and forced, making it feel like she's trying to figure out whether he's an idiot and doesn't realize people could get hurt or if he doesn't care(both reasons to bail, so like she's just trying to find an excuse to leave), instead of like she's gauging whether he sounds like he could be dissuaded from doing it
