    Just WOW...
I am curious to see how new pilots will take to this. I have no doubts that experienced pilots will love this but I wonder if the absence of the feel of the wind on the face and absence of bar-pressure feedback, will it help or hinder a new student once they get on an actual glider.
Certainly it won't be a replacement for initial training but it will certainly add to a complete training program.

For many elements of training, there is no substitute for the real thing. The feel of flying of the wing in one of them, but practicing judgement of glide angles, right of way, thermal centering and site familiarization all can benefit from the emerging tech.

In my simulator rig I use a wind machine that is controlled by the simulated air speed. Bar pressure is not solved yet, but I am planning to do that... We are using our vr simulator in our hang gliding school and students seem to learn how to control a glider quite fast. In the beginning they learn how to control the glider on the uprights so that they already know how to do it before they go to the training hill.

All amazing stuff....I can only add up to better instruction.
We had a sim 10yrs ago using Wii controllers to detect the pitch, roll and even yaw. And coupled it with a head tracker to look around in Condor.
The kids were quite successful at it but I could do it worth a crap...Zero bar pressure and no wind didn't work for me personally! :)

@@dr.schleb3704 I will support such devices, and am thinking along the same lines. I have some ideas on how to address the missing pitch pressure problem. If you would like to compare notes, please write me at lowestflyer@gmail.com.
