That really would be interesting. It seems that the bigger issue is what people mean by "control", "dominance" and so on. At any rate, both her and Cesar's method seem to work.

Why should she waste her time like that? I’m being serious. You can tell by the literal disinformation people spread in the comments of some of her videos - these people have made up their minds. She’s actually changed her methods over the years as new research comes out.

Why are there so many haters in the comments?! Victoria’s methods are tried and true. Y’all clearly have never seen her in action.. she’s the best most effective trainer I’ve seen and her logic makes so much sense that once u learn it’s just second nature training my dog thru the tools she gives. It’s sad people hate on her simply bc she’s a woman. She’s the best there is. It’s sad so many people don’t think of their dogs as another family member but an animal. Dogs are highly intelligent and they understand words and meanings of actions after repitition and trust. Honestly I feel like all the comments saying it doesn’t make sense are intellectually challenged because it does make sense if you understand??

I can back this up. At vet school I have had lecturers (vets that specialise in behaviour) that are heavily against cesars methods because they use negative reinforcement. Of course negative reinforcement works, but positive reinforcement is the way to go if you want to build a positive relationship and trust with your dog. This is backed up by science and Victoria adopts her training methods as the research changes and she is a fantastic trainer.

Raidri Conchobair its out there but hard to find because they try to erase it from history. Victoria Stilwell is by profession, an actress, she has said so herself. She lies and misleads and sells a false fantasy that all you ever have to do is give your dog a cookie and they'll be cured

@@Lanterns_light I'm actually going to assume that you lied for this one. Why? Because I've literally never found that link to the BBC anywhere else.
I've seen these lies all over the internet. So, here's two seconds of research to debunk them:
Number 1: The dog's name was Benji. The dog in question had been taken to a vet on numerous occasions because of it's sudden aggressive turns. It had bitten twice. Once, when attempting to get some food that had fallen on the floor whilst a child reached to pick it up (attributed to food aggression and forgiven) and another biting the mother of the household unprovoked. So the dog had been twice seriously and was on its last chance before they called in Victoria. She did all that she could and did help with many issues, especially with the other dog. However six months after filming (there's a delay between when the episode airs and when it was shot), Benji attacked the child once more unprovoked, apparently turning on her whilst she helped her mother hang out clothes. Neither where anywhere near her.
They took it once more to the vet who recommended having it put down as it was believed to suffering from something called "rage syndrome" a genetic disease prevalent in some solid colour cockers (such as Benji) which caused them to suffer from sudden shows of uncontrollable aggression for a few minutes before abruptly becoming calm once more. It's extremely dangerous and there is no cure or treatment.
The family DID call Victoria, asking her what they thought should be done. She told them that they should, at this point, probably follow the vet's advice. She had no say in the matter. She was just a dog trainer who gave her professional opinion based upon medical advice.
The dog was suffering from a MEDICAL CONDITION. Claiming that a professional could have done something about this is like saying that Supernanny could cure epilepsy with a timeout. The issue was with the breeder who was knowingly breeding animals with this issue (another of the same litter or a previous one also had to be euthanized).
Number 2: This show wasn't broadcast on the BBC. It was Broadcast on Channel 4. Nothing to do with the BBC.
Please, find some dignity. Instead of inventing or at least circulating these stories on the internet, do some research. You can actually get done for slander.

@@hennessygarciahg I didn't say she's an actress. I said that the show is exactly that : a TV show. She herself says that it's a 25 minute program that's shown on television and that the crew is often there for hours, days and even weeks on and off. In some episodes, they do actually show/mention time passing but not in all. There will be things cut out, edited, etc. just for time reasons. Nobody wants to watch Victoria spent 45 minutes walking to and from a door so as to stop a dog from barking.
Most of the people I've seen who have an issue with her seem to be die hard Cesar Millan fan or people who believe the widely circulated story that it was she herself who demanded that Benji be put down.

@@MIZZKIE I think your response shows both a lack of familiarity with the case and a lack of maturity.
Firstly Victoria DID NOT tell them to have the dog put down. The owners phoned her, informing them that for the second time they'd been to the vet (about the fourth or fifth serious and unprovoked attack) and had been advised for the good of everyone to put the dog down. Victoria advised them to take the vet's advice.
What happens if you dog escapes and bites a child? Even a "little cocker spaniel" can kill. Believe me, I had one (English - like the one in the video, so bigger than an American). Lovely dog, no sign of rage syndrome but he was very powerful and I have no doubt that had he put his mind to it, he could have killed someone. Most dogs larger than a Yorkshire probably could.
It's sad for the dog but most of it comes through poor breeding practices (breeding carriers of the genes responsible together) and could therefore easily be stamped out.
I'm very sorry but a dog suffering from rage syndrome isn''t "normal'. No dog, much past the age of a puppy should EVER bite someone. Owners who have such dogs are irresponsible in the worst ways possible. Most cases of death by dogs occur when owners get complacent. Muzzle the dog 24/7? It can't eat. I'd also say it isn't much of a life for a dog to be locked in constantly and unable to open its mouth.
The mere fact that you're saying "luckily I never got attacked by him" illustrates the problem and the danger and I would argue why they can and should never be kept by anyone.
You also CAN'T rehome dogs like that. Most shelters have a put down policy for a reason: because accidents happen, in the park, in the street, having friends/family round for dinner, etc.
It's sad but when a dog suffers from this condition, they are and will forever be dangerous. So the only real safe way to keep them, is in a cage, locked up and treated like a lion or a wolf. There are actually some sanctuaries like this in my country.
In this case, the dog was always going to be put down. They couldn't keep it because realistically he was going to serious injure and potentially kill someone, especially a child. Any sanctuary they gave him to couldn't rehome him and would likely have to put him down so as to make room for other less dangerous dogs. You couldn't give the dog to anyone as anyone who would accept such a dog, by definition couldn't really be trusted.
So it was a sad but unavoidable fate and not Victoria's fault. Blame the breeders. Not the people who end up with genetically damaged (for lack of a better term) dogs.
