That Diff cover is so good looking especially if the spare tire is removed from under the truck so you can actually see it. Just ordered the AEV diff cover and skid plate my self. Will be interesting to see what skids and bumpers he ends up getting. CBI makes some no drill required skids and I think the AEV ones would be a great option but require drilling for anything older then 2019 Colorado's. Having watched the Prinsu rack install I dont think drilling holes will hold him back from going the AEV rout they are also in stock unlike CBI's crazy lead times and required to pay up front.

I some times swing by his work to see what he has done to the truck. His truck stands out from the main road big time lol. The truck caught my eye when he first got it lifted and I saw the Icon wheels, he has good taste.
Great video. I clicked on the link for the gear axle and it took me to Amazon where it said it was not a proper part for my 2017 Chevy Colorado. I just want to verify that this Delco rear axle oil is the correct make for the Chevy Colorado.
All nuts and bolts on this truck is metric not SAE. rear diff cover bolts are 13mm and not 1/2 inch. I find that majority of lug nuts on modern cars gets messed up because of use of SAE tools
Thanks for the info. We've been doing projects on the Colorado for years since and they have always been metric. Might've said that because that's what was in the instructions? This was years ago at this point so I'm not sure.
Is there a reason you stuck with the ACDelco gear oil? In the owners manual it says to use an SAE 75W-90 gear oil and it comes from the factory with ACDelco. However it appears comparable oils are half the price. I have no idea which to get or if it even matters and I'm over thinking it.
Is that truck a long bed? I have a couple colorados for my business, long bed reg cabs and short bed quad cabs. Ordering a diesel Bison and trying to decide if a quad cab long bed is too long
Unfortunately the Bisons don't come in a quad cab / long bed configuration. 😕 That was my main reason for buying a Z71 over a ZR2/Bison. Needed the seating and bed capacity. Much more practical for my needs.

That’s what AC Delco’s site said. Honestly any 75W-90 synthetic gear oil will work if it meets GM’s specs.
Yep, I picked the fluid up from my Chevy dealer specifically for my Colorado. Never hurts to double check!

This is a little late, but AEV has told me you can’t put their Diff cover on a 16 Z71. I see you can, is there anything special to install if??
Nope. I’m not sure why you heard that. This was a 2016 z71.
Did it have the G80 or Dana M220.
Does it fit the 2021 gmc canyon v6 elvation 4x4?

Yeah I personally used Amsoil gear oil in my truck.

The Colorado has a Dana 46, sometimes called an M220. If your 1500 has this it'll work.

They make skids for that truck yet somehow they dont make it for the jeep gladiator...... smh ._.
