    What a revelation! Now, I know why I've spent a lifetime hitting my right chin with my right shoulder after contact. I was rotating the shoulder and the forearm together. How in the world would I ever figure out the proper forearm rotation without this video. This also explains how to get both wrist in perfect position on the follow through. Top Speed videos reveal so many hidden moves in the golf swing. Even the plus handicap golfers I play with can't explain why their swing is so good. All teaching pros should be required to view the Top Speed Golf system.

    @Clay: This video helped my slice out a lot. What I subconsciously developed because of it though was over using my left arm for power and underutilizing my right and concentrating on the rotation. I realized this on the range this Friday and when I put the power back in with my right arm the ball went straight as an arrow vs the fade I have been shooting for the last 6 months, but my distance went from 210 to 260-280. I've never seen numbers like that from my drive so I guess it came together after a while. Going to the course again today to see if it's consistent.

    This changed everything...0 slices now and I'm just bombing my driver, I almost wanted to cry...I spent forever fixing my swing path and still nothing, literally changed my grip to the one you just went over and it feels almost impossible for the club face to open during my swing, I'm so confident now I can put a lot bigger turn and swing harder now with no worry, worst thing that happens is a hook which is more manageable...thank you clay

    • @jeffreynewland174

    • @MarkSmith-lz5rk
      @MarkSmith-lz5rk 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jeffreynewland174 usually slicers will have a very inside takeaway...try taking it more to the outside and then swing to right field (like really exaggerate swinging right)...If you start pushing or push slicing the ball then problem 1 of 2 is solved, If it starts going straight then ur done. ..problem 2 would then be to look at clubface if ur still not going straight or a slight draw...best rule of golf, whatever you think a fix is, so the opposite "fix a hook to the left= means swing more to the left, fix a slice to the right=swing more to the right"

    perfect! it explains something I have SOMETIMES experienced when doing it well, but I sort of thought I was taking unnecessary risks, and didn't really know what was happening in various parts of the downswing, but at impact it seemed to come though so well, and with some wrist release. this explains it. forearm and elbow still tucked but release and some wrist roll can still happen. that you note so many tour players do it this way is fantastic. gives me confidence. I will not likely come out of my shot, have back shoulder get away from me, swing across the ball. By the way, amazing drive at the end! congrats. You have nailed it again.

    I tend to have a slice to my drives, played softball for years and I've always thought my slice was cometly due to that and swinging a driver like a bat. After watching this video I'm going to try out what you explained and see how it helps me. I get an occasional straight hit and those are generally about 270yds and I've had one that was 315yds, I'm not complaining since I've only been golfing for 5yrs and never taken lessons. Here's to hoping I can practice this and get it sorted out and maybe add some distance. Love your videos btw.

    Hi, I feel like there is some contradictions concerning the left hand. I explain : in other videos when you talk about shallowing, the left hand glove logo points out through the sky and in this current video it is the contrary, in order to square the club face. This would mean if we combine the two videos that the left hand points first towards the sky in the downswing and then turns and points almost the ground when the club hits the ball. Could you clarify that please. Regards

    • @TopSpeedGolf
      @TopSpeedGolf  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Nisso. The advice of "to the sky" and "to the ground" is a feel. Kind of like DJ does in reality. I see a lot of players doing the opposite. Cupped at the top and flipping at the bottome. So I recommend exaggerating the feeling.
      Same here. This is designed for what players that are currently slicing, need to feel and do to hit a draw. If you are already drawing the ball, you don't need to follow this. You are already probably doing that. Hope that helps!

    Hi Clay. I have asked a lot of people why the face on the driver and woods are curved a little but are completely flat on the irons and I’ve never got an answer. I slice my driver/wood-shots now and then, but nearly never my iron-shots.
    I’ve come to that conclusion that it’s partly because of the difference at the clubface.
    Therefore I thouht that an expert like you can answer my question.
    Thanks for your great videos.

      Modern woods have a bulged face so that if you hit a ball off-center it will compress at impact and spring off "flatter" so as to help the ball go straighter.

    Your idea of a slice is amusing. that was a fade, lol. enjoy your lessons. I have tried several of your concepts. They work however, I know have too many swing thoughts and I get confused. (hey I'm old). Just need to work on them to where I don't have to think. great work

      Hi Jim, what the FlightScope simulator shows makes it look like a lot less slice. Trust me, that sliced a lot. Play well! Quentin | TSG Instructor

    going to try the right shoulder more set back .... never crossed my mind before .... maybe that could cure this major slice I've got going on, I changed my grip like Eric Corgono said but still didn't cure the slice ... next weekend at the range for sure to try this out

    Any advice for someone with Radial Ulnar Synostosis?

    • @TopSpeedGolf
      @TopSpeedGolf  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, I've never heard of that before so I had to look it up. From what I read it just limits the ability to pronate and supinate (forearm rotation). It's going to be more difficult for you to generate speed. Make sure you're getting a big shoulder turn and you use your lower body properly. You'll also want to square the face more with turning the handle down by bowing the lead wrist. I hope that helps. Play well! Quentin | TSG Instructor

      It's the FlightScope app. You have to have the launch monitor too to get the data. Play well! Quentin | TSG Instructor

    Hi Clay, what happen if I bow during back swing instead bow during the down swing?

    • @TopSpeedGolf
      @TopSpeedGolf  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi William, you can do that but it's not easy. You have to maintain it in the transition too. It doesn't do you any good if you can't do that. Play well! Quentin | TSG Instructor

    hi clay...one small request...could you make some videos for left handed golfers...would be very helpful...

    • @TopSpeedGolf
      @TopSpeedGolf  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Devashish, unfortunately, we don't have any left handed instructors but all the instruction will be the same. The 5 pieces of the TSG System apply the exact same way to left handed golfers. We do our best to say "lead" or "trail" instead of "left" and "right" to avoid confusion but we aren't perfect. Play well! Quentin | TSG Instructor
