@@PeterVaughan-ve5cz Labour is going to win. It’s simply a question of how big their majority is going to be. That, unfortunately, is a simple fact. HOWEVER - all eyes will be on Reform next Thursday. If they can win between 5 and 15 seats then that gives them a serious “beach head” in the Commons ( personally I reckon they can realistically win around a dozen seats). How many votes the party gets overall next Thursday night, and what their percentage share of the vote is nationally, will have to be taken on board by Starmer and his cohorts. Because I think Reform will get an awful lot of votes. Which of course won’t translate into seats because of our “first past the post” system.
Then it’s going to be all eyes on the 2029 election. That is going to be a VERY different story then, after 5 years of Labour. Maybe, just maybe, we’ll have proportional representation as a system to work with. But not holding my breath. The more votes Reform get this time, the more chance that can be achieved.
