We've slammed some perch in the rain there before - maybe in the same boat! Nothing better to practice fileting on than a mess of perch. Great size for perch tacos.
Best perch fishing I’ve ever had was Flathead lake Montana. It’s glacier fed and was full of freshwater shrimp back then. Nothing better parking over a school of huge Delicious Flathead Perch
Great video! Yellow perch are delicious. They are a favorite of mine when ice fishing. I fry them up right on the ice. Biggest one I ever caught was back in like 2014 in a tiny reservoir in CT. Thing wasn't a "golden nugget" like in the midwest, but I swear to you it was 15". Caught it on a rubber shad fishing the weedline from shore around 8am in early summer. Landed a few really good ones that morning!
Those are some nice perch. My only experience catching perch was by accident at a lake along the front range and most were only about 3- 6". I was going for rainbow trout but the little f***ers kept stealing my bait and annoying the crap out of me. Cooked and tasted one that was deep hooked, didn't care for it much but at least I had a few trout
@@bassntroutfishing Bridgeport reservoir, Crowley lake, mountain Meadows, and June lake have Sacramento perch on the Eastside of the Sierra Nevada range not sure the driving distance but definitely doable in a car or truck.
I watched a lot of your videos on a single breathe 😀 But i wonder, a lot of your lakes and streams looks like there was a huge disaster. A lot of broken trees, extreemly low water level and so on. You prefer such places, or entire area have such view?
LOL Perch are worm strippers. The ones you caught I buy bigger minnows then those :) Wow can't believe you actually kept those. More bones then meat on those little guys
Are perch very tasty? I’ve always heard because they are white meat that they are great tasting. Reason I’m asking is because I don’t care for the taste of fish but I’m really trying to get myself to start eating fish, especially because I fish so much. And I heard white meat fish taste better than other fish such as trout.
Yes they are a very tasty, mild tasting fish, prepare them anyway you like and it's good. Brook trout and rainbow trout is also mild tasting, I usually cook them in some tinfoil eith butter and vegetables on the barbecue or over a fire
I didn’t mean to judge you. I don’t care. There is no size limit. That’s just a lot of cleaning fish for a little bit of meat. I didn’t mean to offend. I enjoyed the video.
Growing up in Wisconsin as a kid we ate lots of perch one my favorite fish frys other walleye lake trout
i forgot how good they were! definitely going back for more!
One of few lakes you go to that I recognized. Thanks for the videos.
Right on man, more perching coming soon!
Perch is especially good beer battered. Along with an ice cold lager 👌👏🏼
I want to try them fried with franks red hot! but that sounds good to!
Catch & cook videos rock. Nice fishing out there. 👊🎣
Thanks man!
Perch are great eating fish that is are favorite fish to fish besides brookies. The catfish catch and cook would be nice.
Yeah it’s nice seeing you change species once in a while! Catfish would be a good idea too, they fight so hard!!
Yellow perch is my favorite freshwater fish for eating.

You and me both!
I did this in my kayak last year. Thanks for helping thin them out!
we got a long ways to go but we've thinned them out a LOT!
@@bassntroutfishing years of thinning means years of tacos!

You should troll for kokes in there before the end of the summer and do a taste test between Kokanee and other trout species!
I like to pickle them and put them on a peace of toast and eat them or put them in a blender and drink them like a milkshake

Awesome stuff! 👌
Awesome video!! That looks yummy!

Great video buddy loved it but I was interested in why you would keep perck so small just a few 8 inchers we'll do the trip!
you're not allowed to release them at this lake😂

That’s how it is here, you try to catch trout but you can’t keep the perch off your hook!
Ive heard perch is delicious, never had a chance to try it myself yet

@@bassntroutfishing yo, I think he's talking about what lake that is.

Come get some sacramento perch in California
