    For a patient that was diagnosed with grade 1 2mm l5-s1? Should running be discontinued? I was recently diagnosed and curious to get an opinion?

      That would depend on whether you can stabilize the retro segment during your running. This is a very individualized answer based on knowing and correcting your core muscle imbalances, mechanics and errors of your running form related to your lower back, and if you have someone knowledgeable enough near you to train you in the rehab exercises necessary to see if this is possible.       Absolutely. Spinal stability becomes progressively more difficult as the speed of movement/exercise increases. This is a common problem with many cardio routines and dance classes, especially since most instructors themselves often unknowingly use poor spinal stability when setting the example for students to follow. I would suggest using the FAST TRACK Retrolisthesis program at www.painfreeandfit.com to learn how to customize your retrolisthesis stability and slowly use the exercises and advice in the program to build your speed up to be able to safely participate in your Zumba class.
