      Is cycling a good workout for this condition? Also, sometimes I feel a mild pain on my right hip, is it possible to be due to this condition?

    I am 75 and NOT in good shape. Spouse died 2 and a half years ago and I let myself go. I'm 40 - 50 lbs overweight and very recently developed grade one Anterolisthesis. I am still awaiting doctor's instruction. Couldn't do 4 weeks of bed rest as it really hurt to lie down. THIS VIDEO and series, i hope are a gift from GOD for me. Thank You! any hints I can get of what NOT to do to worsen this malady will be helpful,

    OMG I LOVE YOU.
    I have 25% slippage anterolisthesis due to a bilateral pars defect, which I had diagnosed when I was 21. I didn't have anterolisthesis back then. Now I'm 40. It caused anterolisthesis. I have leg weakness, and can barely stand and walk for longer than ten minutes. I'm filing for disability and they're treating me like it's just an injury that will heal and I just don't want to work. You even said "it's likely chronic."
    When I was diagnosed, they said I was probably born with it.

    Just found this video. I have something that mirrors what your client has. Anteriorlisthesis in L4L5.
    I’m doing advanced dead bug, bird dog, reverse crunches, side plank holds and more. My core is getting strong. But I still have pain without ibuprofen. I’m hoping you have additional videos like this so I can learn and try more.

    Great video. I have grade one anterolisthesis with 3 slips. I was in therapy for five weeks and just finished. I was doing a few of these exercises but a few of them I’ve never seen before. I was doing a lot of Leg stretches and walking up and down stairs forward facing and side facing. Standing on one leg for 20 seconds 3x, etc. I was feeling so much better And couldn’t believe how my core had strengthened, but then I developed plantars fasciitis in both of my feet. Just standing is painful. So now my legs are starting to hurt again. Frustrating.

    I was born with and diagnosed around age 10 with L5-S1 grade 2 Spondylolisthesis and been dealing with severe pain since I was a kid and it’s just gotten worse as I’ve gotten older. Right now I can’t even walk and have an MRI coming up, but I just got an Xray a few weeks ago and now after almost 30 years the doctor is saying Anterolisthesis grade 2 at L5-S1 and I’ve just given up!
    40 years old and can’t walk, hips and pelvis go numb, I have polyneuropathy in all limbs… Just feel defeated!
    Gonna try and get myself together to do some of these exercises because I’ve lost all faith in doctors here!

    Great exercises but it would have been much more helpful for us if he’d been in body hugging spandex top and bottom so we could clearly see lower back position in beginning of the exercise stretch and throw the full range of motion. An XL tshirt completely obscures one of the thee most vital aspects of these exercises to not only master but to maintain thru the full range of the stretch.

      @@OverheadAthletics why ? even though the pars interarticularis aren't fractured ? I mean if the root cause which stays behind the anterolisthesis is a stretched ligament.

    Can you use a medicine ball? I find the punches a little sus, having a weight at the end of your arms like that is not good for your joints. What about slow controlled pushes? I'm not sure what the punching motion is gaining?

    • @OverheadAthletics
      @OverheadAthletics 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It increases the moment arm variability and perturbation to generate co-contraction which is what protects the spine.

    Hey, you need to check out CBP Chiropractor, Dr Curtis Fedorchuk in Cumming, Georgia. He does non-surgical correction of Lumbar Spondylolisthesis. I had successful treatment from him in September 2023 for a grade 2 L5-S1 lumbar Spondy. So, yes, it CAN be corrected. I'm looking for post-spondy correction exercises to help strengthen and maintain my newly corrected spondy. My question to you, is, are these correct exercises good after a Spondy correction to help maintain good strength in the lumbar spine to now maintain my corrected spondy?

    • @OverheadAthletics

      I’m unaware of any such procedure that is not surgical
