    Thanks for the update Matt from my earlier question on the rear hand position on the forward thrust. All makes good sense. I guess it always comes down to what works best for the individual whilst ensuring it maximises economy of motion and power. Appreciate your practicality and energy on these videos.

    Bando staff forms are very powerful... I train with long and short(military)
    stick in the bando system and okinawan goju ryu. Like any authentic technique, there must be breath and lock...

    my question is this. Say (in defense of my person of course) I need to use my bo staff to really crack a nugget ... what is the right bo staff to use? I dont want one that will break with a good strike.

    • @pasquinilli
      @pasquinilli  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The less expensive ones made in China of red oak will break. White oak is less likely to break but if it is oiled properly then less likely. The most durable I have used with a good heft as well, are white oak, made in the USA out of three or more pieces of wood and laminated then lathed round. There was a company called Bujin in Boulder, Colorado where I bough a Bo, a Jo, and a bokken. They all have lasted close to thirty years now. Bujin designs doesn’t exist anymore. Not the weapons part. The uniforms and other accessories part was sold to someone in Germany I think. Anyway, I will look around for you. There are probably a couple of Etsy sellers who can make you a worthy staff!

      Nate Cothern 45 took me a few seconds but I was right. Etsy has more than a couple of craftsmen. www.etsy.com/shop/ScrapwoodMartialArts?listing_id=631267586&ref=shop_overview_header#items

      @@pasquinilli Thanks Matt. I have broken staffs I made out of shovel or broom handles... I whack it on a tree. I just made a new on out of round stock from lowes to double as a walking stick. Looks pretty. Good for practice and keeping mean dogs at bay... but if I need it in a combat situation I fear it will fail me. My hope is to never need it... but if i do... I want a good one that wont fail me when I need it the most. I'd rather not use an edged weapon during peaceful times. Now a full on apocalypse... swords and guns it is. Also.. thanks for the video on your EDC bag. A few things in there I hadnt thought of.
