The thumnbail for the tier list is just an example of a tier list. All tier lists are subject and I had to order the games in a way so that I could fit CoD on there evenly. I don't have enough knowledge of every esport to accurately rank all of the games but if that's something people are interested in I could. I would probably gather high level players from each game and have them rank these games objectively to see where they stand.
Title - Why Call of duty *cant be* a TOP Esport. I think it's important to remember that with proper handling and a deep balancing act with a consistent COD, it could have been huge, but the boys in the head office will never push viewership over major margins in micro-transactions.
I almost titled it "Why" instead of "Will" but I don't believe they will ever change. I agree with you that it was and still is totally possible but their interests align with micro-transactions and other things.
Its strange that CoD is clowned for being the franchise that is the same thing every year meanwhile its the only game that adapts a completely new title to be played competitively every single year. CS is a great game but if you compare 1.6, to source, to CSGO, to CS2 that is the franchise that should be clowned for LITERALLY being the same game since 1990s
Weapon bans and GAs are required because the game isn't competitive out of the box. It simply would not work. Almost every GA the pros agree to makes sense.
I would have placed them all higher but they wouldn't have fit in the thumbnail. I personally like Dota and think it's a good game. I know it takes a lot of skill.
@@sekki327 I love CS but it wouldn't fit in the thumbnail. It's definitely a lot higher but I ran out of space lol. I think CS is mechanically one of the most difficult FPS games.
I play CS since 1999, played it professional between 2001 and 2008, have some friends who were pros in WC3 and Starcraft. We all also started playing CoD when the first game came out and followed the game for multiple titles, mainly til CoD 4 and while the game makes a lot of fun it really is just that. It does not require that much skill/knowledge. It's a very cool game on a casual or semi-competitive level but not higher than that. I agree with you on that one. I also don't think it should be an eSports title because the CoD community isn't an eSport community so by making it "eSports ready" it would lose it's spirit fitting to their community. The only point I don't agree with is that LoL and SC are on S Tier alone. I'd also put World of Warcraft and Counter Strike in that list and if it would still exist, also Warcraft 3.
The thing is, what team am i supposed to supported? I only know faze clan and optic gaming. The other team name, i never heard of them. I have the same problem with the overwatch league. I just learn than G2 and Team Heretic have a roater for the cdl but for some reason, they change the name.
Unfortunately when the investments came in and cod got franchised into the CDL, they went with a location-based sports model and required all orgs to create new brands for the city they represent. Orgs have done their best each year to roll that back and use their original branding. Atlanta Faze is not owned by Faze Clan, and Optic Texas is in a grey area as OpTic Gaming was purchased by Envy and OpTic has taken over all Envy operations, so more of a merger than an acquisition.
The question about who you are supposed to support can be an entirely different video. The only competitive team to be around for the entire history of CoD is OpTic. FaZe came in around BO2 or slightly earlier for competitive. It's a catch-22 because OpTic's fanbase is 80% of the scene so it ruins any chance of another team being popular but that's also what's helped the scene survive.
It's not the same. Valorants causal feels like casual. CoDs casual feels like competitive. Old CoD with minimal SBMM is more similar to valorant with SBMM then current CoD.
Rocket League also has SBMM in it's casual game modes, That never held it back but that's because the mechanical skill between the average player and the pro player is only gained through thousands and almost tens of thousands of hours. You can get quite close to a pro player's mechanical skill in CoD within like a month, just take a look at your average CoD streamer. I'm sitting at around 1.5k hours in RL and still am only average in terms of the rank distribution.
callin league a game with "mechanical skill" really self-reports that you do not understand mobas at all. shit is literally a mobile game compared to the rest of the genre, its why there's a mobile game version.
Well your not completely wrong the hard part of playing mobas are mostly in the "macro skill" But there are some characters in moba that take some mechanical skill and playing PC moba games vs playing mobile moba games is like playing 2 different games cause the different controls between PC and mobile

Honestly, I think the thumbnail is pretty good
Good video man! If you keep up the quality of work like this you'll be gaining subs easily!

Dota in D Tier on the Thumbnail?
Thats straight up wrong.
Thumbs down.
i mean cs not in s tier is a proof of ignorance.

I had to leave out many games and the tier list was just an example. I had to order the games so CoD would fit. Thank you for your perspective though.
Great video, u underrated asf. subbed

I don't get your problem. Just watch the league regularly and note which teams you enjoy watching, your favorite players etc. How is it difficult ?
Would definitely put Dota above league in terms of difficulty
Promod was the best COD esport. RIP promod ❤

Call of duty is meant to be an arcade shooter lmfao. Not a 6v6 tactical competitve shooter.
