I actually find it interesting that Mike and the bots predicted the plot of Twilight in this song, and now they riff the movies with absolute hatred. Stephanie Myers must have taken this song WAAAAY too seriously.
Crow: "Say, Mike, you didn't ACTUALLY go out with a guy named Steve who died, did you?" Mike: "Well, you know, there is this guy that..." Me: **tilts glasses down with my interest CLEARLY piqued** We STILL never got full closure to that.
This episode referenced Ray Liotta (and Pesci once I think) multiple times and then this song's lyrics is similar to "Leader of The Pack" an old song that was played it the movie... guess what... Goodfellas. Kinda weird I wonder if this was deliberate.
Listening to this made me realise that Mystery Science Theater3000 has a lot of really great song parodies which should be released. As someone (below) mentioned, the (in)famous Idiot Control Now (LMAO), and the Michael Feinstein (and, YES, Joel & the bots) doing the Gammera song... I would love it. BTW: I wish I would be in any of the places the 30th anniversary tour of Mystery Science Theater 3000 is (still, as of now. IT goes through Mid-November, '18) playing. To those fortunate enough to go - or have gone, ENJOY!
Sure miss this show. It reached its peak with Brain Guy, Professor Bobo and Pearl Forrestor. I got to see a live performance at their conventicon and the cast made a personal appearance at the screening of MST3K: The Movie in Minneapolis (separate events)..
I tend to agree that MST3K reached its zenith during the Pearl, BG and Bobo epoch although almost all MST3K is good MST3K (except for, as of this writing, the latest incarnation unpleasantly featuring the nightmare-fueled horror that is the current incarnation of Crow, bad enough to make the entire show unbearable not just for myself but for many viewers who took one look and a listen to Crow in his new form and were instantly repulsed on a deep, instinctive level). I feel like so much that was good has been lost from the real sets to the original organic interconnected passageways leading to the theater to Gypsy becoming Gyp-C to, well, it's a long list. But yeah, I miss MST3K too and frankly the current season is just a hot fussy mess.
I would've liked to see this done as they sang it...a pop horror/comedy musical starring Susie, a sweet and peppy but innocent girl who works at the malt shop, and her two friends(Carol and we'll call Crow's character Margie or something-). And Susie is trying to find a boyfriend but keeps having disastrous relationships with teenage monsters. We've got Steve the werewolf, then we can have Conrad the bird-man, 'Rad Vlad' the garage band vampire, a skeleton dude('Bonez' is his nickname), Ahmen the foreign exchange student in the 'full body cast'...
I wonder if people recognize how much this is based on "Leader of the Pack" by the Shangri-Las, from 1964. As I write this, that was 60 years ago, while the MST3K "Werewolf" was only 26 years ago.
This is the best show ever and your close-mindedness is making you miss out. Even if this is gay, it is in no way relevant. Thanks for posting this short Andyp1986.
Where oh Werewolf, Creepy Girl, Idiot Control, the Waffle Song, Gypsy Moons, the Gamera Song, and my all time favorite, Let's Have A Patrick Swayze Christmas, all brilliant.
Lol, so catchy! I walk around singing this. :P Thanks for posting! "Well, you know, there is a story-" Mike's untold story is that HE killed a guy name Steve who was a werewolf! And Susie was not happy with him. :-o ^_^ ;) Love these guys.
He was the Leader Of The Pack. See, that's a joke because wolves travel in packs, and the song is in the style of '50's girl doo-wop, and one of the most famous girl doo-wop songs is Leader Of The Pack about a guy who sadly died...
I thought it was a parody of "Last Kiss" by Frank J. Wilson & the Cavilers" which is about a girl getting hurt in a car crash. By the time EMS gets to her, it's too late. The melody sounds a lot like Last Kiss.
Me in 2012: Ha! This segment is funny and catchy. Me now as a trans woman: Well, this certainly hits different. Now it's VERY funny and VERY VERY catchy.
Not one song in particular, but a whole bunch of them. The 50s was filled with these really stupid doo-wop songs about teenage couples dying in "tragic" (and usually stupid) ways. This is a parody of that whole genre. "Teen Angel" is one of the most typical and stupid of those, if you want an example (it's a lot slower than this song is, though).
That message was very insulting to a high percentage of our society, and when you said that, I'm sure that you offended many people. The term "gay" was not invented as an insult. So next time, please say "Dumb" or "Stupid". (And I'd disagree either way.)
This should've been on the Twilight soundtrack
It would probably have worked best for the second film.
Lol
U should be a riffer
I actually find it interesting that Mike and the bots predicted the plot of Twilight in this song, and now they riff the movies with absolute hatred. Stephanie Myers must have taken this song WAAAAY too seriously.
True luve. 😂
War, oh Warwilf?
I looked every Warwilf?
When I have one of my bad days due to trolls, there's nothing that lightens my sour mood like some good old MST3K.
Crow: "Say, Mike, you didn't ACTUALLY go out with a guy named Steve who died, did you?"
Mike: "Well, you know, there is this guy that..."
Me: **tilts glasses down with my interest CLEARLY piqued**
We STILL never got full closure to that.
Mike, more like... Bike, am I right?
"that means he's healthy!" Gets a laugh out of me every time.
Absolute bars
I haven't heard such a fine song since Creepy Girl came out.
This episode referenced Ray Liotta (and Pesci once I think) multiple times and then this song's lyrics is similar to "Leader of The Pack" an old song that was played it the movie... guess what... Goodfellas. Kinda weird I wonder if this was deliberate.
This helps continue the MST3K stinging game rule of "drink every time there's a Wisconsin/Minnesota/Illinois joke."
Warning; this game is dangerous to your health
"Oh nothing..I GUESS"
LOL
I want my choir teacher to let us do that or "Idiot Control Now" from Pod People.
great idea
I love that my 12 year old son is SO into MST3K! :)
We're watching this episode tonight.
"But just for a while 😀"
I don't usually find drag that humorous, but when Mike does it, suddenly it is the funniest thing I have ever beheld.
He did it during the Season 7 finale also. I'd highly recommend giving the episode where they riff Laserblast a watch!

This should have won an Emmy.
Yes, in the category of Teen Tragedy songs😄.
Thanks to this hilarious song, I finally noticed the Kenner Millenium Falcon toy on the wall of the Satellite of Love's bridge.
Oh yeah! I hadn’t noticed that...
I noticed Darth Vader upside down On the wall.
I love this freakin' bit so much.
"Yeah, just for a while..."
long moment of silence
lmaoooooo
Mike could have been one of The Kids In The Hall with those gender-bending chops.
1:21
🎵
Oh where oh where oh Where
Is my Werewolf....
Werewoooooooooooooooolf
I love the "true louvre" bit. In fact I like all the bits.
I've seen Werewolf like tens of times, and I just noticed the moon in the background of this song.

and somewhere, a sexually repressed Mormon housewife got an idea for a book.

GEEEEE,,,that's too bad Suzy!!
This is in my top 5 favorite MST3K songs.
This was my favorite MST3K song right next to get in your mech
Damn it, its really catchy!

This is the B side to the Gamera Song.
This is the best show ever and your close-mindedness is making you miss out. Even if this is gay, it is in no way relevant.
Thanks for posting this short Andyp1986.
I love this episode😂
Besides porn, this is and always will be the greatest thing on the intranetz.
One of the greeat sketshes on the show.
This was stuck in my head all night after watching the episode. Well that and the toe replacing grapes.
Love the song, the show, the description, and the number on your name...
A poodle skirt, too!
There wolf. *There* castle.
Hiawatha exit. Such a Minnesota reference.
Where oh Werewolf, Creepy Girl, Idiot Control, the Waffle Song, Gypsy Moons, the Gamera Song, and my all time favorite, Let's Have A Patrick Swayze Christmas, all brilliant.
Found my werewolf; he's the greatest.
Lol, so catchy! I walk around singing this. :P Thanks for posting!
"Well, you know, there is a story-" Mike's untold story is that HE killed a guy name Steve who was a werewolf! And Susie was not happy with him. :-o ^_^ ;) Love these guys.
Sounds like a beautiful story of tragic love.
No the story is actually that he made sweet love to a werewolf man
Too bad the Twilight didn't end this quickly. Though there is Rifftrax!
He was the Leader Of The Pack. See, that's a joke because wolves travel in packs, and the song is in the style of '50's girl doo-wop, and one of the most famous girl doo-wop songs is Leader Of The Pack about a guy who sadly died...

True Luve
I like their quips thrown in about wall drug every now and then. YES I LIVE IN WYOMING DAMNIT!
So Awesome.
Wow!
Thanks for posting this!!
oh, whose story is this Carol :)
Werewolf by Night looks good so far
XDD Best part of the show.
Grease!!
Am I the only one attracted to Tom Servo in that outfit?
it's the hair. It's gotta be the hair.
No
I don't know. Crow was pretty foxy, too.
Mike's cute in that Ascot 👀
So werewolves are vulnerable to silver bullets and car crashes.
maybe he isn't gay, he is just a werewoman.
I liked the part where they sang about a werewolf.
Don't know why the official MST3K TH-cam channel cuts the song short.
The funniest part is when they continue watching the film in costume
Me in 2012: Ha! This segment is funny and catchy.
Me now as a trans woman: Well, this certainly hits different. Now it's VERY funny and VERY VERY catchy.
Are there any clips of Joel in drag? I have to say, Mike is working that ascot.
@mom2eandem Now THAT is what I call good parenting.
Especially if you got mauled to death by a wolf.
Amdg
he went down on a werewolf, lol
🤣🤣🤣🤣
what is this song a parody of?
Not one song in particular, but a whole bunch of them. The 50s was filled with these really stupid doo-wop songs about teenage couples dying in "tragic" (and usually stupid) ways. This is a parody of that whole genre. "Teen Angel" is one of the most typical and stupid of those, if you want an example (it's a lot slower than this song is, though).
It’s like those genre parodies by Weird Al Yankovic, not one particular song
This song needs to be sung by actual women
Lee Matthew Perez Jason Moore Frank
well then call me gay
That message was very insulting to a high percentage of our society, and when you said that, I'm sure that you offended many people. The term "gay" was not invented as an insult. So next time, please say "Dumb" or "Stupid". (And I'd disagree either way.)
a man dressed and acting like a woman IS gay! he is even singing a love song TO a man. and it's dumb. so it appears teh original statement is correct.
You do realize it's just a parody of doo-wop songs back in the 1950s, right?
@@GlitchanBlack what a great show :)
