  • @markfowler7171

    Good video. I have mixed results, sometimes it works and sometimes it does not. I really want to morph two shapes. To illustrate what happens when wood gets wet and swells to deform objects. It seems I cannot do that .

    • @AnthonyGodinho
      @AnthonyGodinho  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Mark, yes, when using the Morph transition on shapes, it can get a bit tricky. In the example that you explained above, are you using two different shapes? What I mean is that, for example, are you going from a rectangle to a circle?
      If so, you should use the rectangle with rounded corners because it allows you to create a circle from the rectangle. You can do this by using the little yellow dot (when you click on the shape). I'm obviously just using an example here.
      In some cases, you will need to work backwards when morphing shapes. What I mean is that, you create your first shape (for example, a rectangle) on slide 1. Then duplicate slide 1 and convert it into another shape (for example, a circle). Then apply the Morph transition to slide 2 (the circle shape).
      Once you do the above, duplicate slide 2 (so now you have two slides with the circle). Then go back to slide 2 and covert it back to a rectangle. And finally delete slide 1.
      Hope this makes sense and helps. If you'd like, feel free to connect with me on my Facebook page and message me there with the screenshots of the shapes you're trying to morph. You'll find the link to my FB page in the About section of my TH-cam channel. Cheers!

    Anthony, DO you have an example of a Morph between two slides? I have a common object between the slides and want to apply a morph transition between the two. Thanks

    • @AnthonyGodinho
      @AnthonyGodinho  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi John, the concept of the Morph transition is the same whether you use two or more slides. The basic idea is that you need at least 2 slides for the Morph transition to work. So if you have only 2 slides, make sure that the second slide is created by duplicating the original side. Then you move anything you need to, on the second slide, to create the Morph animation. The Morph transition is applied to the second slide. Hope this makes sense and helps.

      Thanks Michael! Yeah, the morphing of the text is pretty neat as well. • @AnthonyGodinho
      @AnthonyGodinho  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks Baptiste! In PowerPoint 2016 (I'm using the Office 365 version), you can export PPT slides as a video. I've created a separate tutorial on How to Save PowerPoint Slides as an MP4 Video.
      Essentially, once you create your slide deck with the animations, you can click on \File \Export \Create a Video and then choose the necessary resolution settings and click the Create Video button.
      The quality of the video, will depend on your computer specs. It's better to export a PPT slide deck using this video export functionality, instead of using a screen-recording software.
      One thing you may want to do is close all other applications, including browsers, when rendering the video. Hope this helps...cheers!

    • @AnthonyGodinho
      @AnthonyGodinho  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi @Ping Pong if you want to an image to keep morphing, you'd have to duplicate the original slide multiple times and then position the image (on each slide) the way you want it to animate. And then adjust the slide speed and slide advance to automatic. Can you explain in a little more detail how you plan on animating the image and what kind of image you're using? • @AnthonyGodinho
      @AnthonyGodinho  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Ping Pong Ok, in that case, I wouldn't recommend using the Morph transition, instead use an animation like the FADE or APPEAR. Essentially, you can set a FADE-IN and then a FADE-OUT for the first image, and accordingly set the timing. Then set the same for the second image, and use the FADE-IN to come with the FADE-OUT of the previous image.
      Then depending on how many times you want to repeat the fade-in and fade-out, apply the same animations in sequence, to each of the images. If you want to know how to do it, feel free to connect with me on my FB page and message me there. I can do a quick screen-recording and send it to you.

      You're welcome buddy! Yes, you'd have to either purchase the Microsoft 365 (subscription) version or the new standard MS Office 2019 version, to get the Morph transition.

    Hi Anthony I was wondering how you did the animation with the team building picture. The circle drifts over the images. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    • @AnthonyGodinho
      @AnthonyGodinho  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Beth, what I did to achieve the animation (using Morph) of the circle over each of the team members is once I zoomed into the picture, I duplicated that picture several times (for each of the team members) and then for each of the sections I used the \Merge Shaped\Intersect to cut out only those specific sections (where each member displays). Does that make sense? I can create a separate tutorial if it will help or upload the slides to my Google Drive and leave a link here.

      Hi Anthony, thank you so much for your reply. I think I understand what you men. Either of those options, however, would be very helpful for me to visualise the effect. I really appreciate your help! Cheers

      You're most welcome Beth! I'm glad that made sense and helped :) Here is the link to the PPT slide deck (example2) on my Google Drive: drive.google.com/file/d/0B9dnmJX_Lx0bZ0p0ZVRiZHhpSjA/view?usp=sharing
      If you zoom out of the slide #5, you will see that there is already a cutout transparency (on the right, off the slide) that I used to cut out the team members. Also, in case you use that Teamwork image, please use the attribution which is also on the main slides. Hope this helps. Do let me know if you have any further questions. Cheers!

Alternatively, you can connect with me via my Facebook page and message me (see link in the About section of my YT channel). I can then create a rough tutorial and post it via Messenger for you.

      Thanks anyways!

      Karthik Subramanian Krishnan Hey Karthik, in the Office 365 version of PowerPoint 2016 that I'm using, there are a ton of PPT add-ins under the INSERT tab. Once you click on the Add-ins button, it opens up a dialog box with two tabs, My Add-ins and Store. Under the Store tab is where you can look for Add-ins.
      I'm not absolutely certain about the Professional Plus 2016 version that you're using, but I would think that most of these add-ins should be available. I'm not aware of any new releases at this point. Hope this helps!

    hi Anthony,
    fantastic video, thanks for taking the time!
    quick question - how will a computer with an older version power point, for example 2007, see the morph slides?

    • @AnthonyGodinho
      @AnthonyGodinho  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Taffy, thanks for your stopping by and for your feedback!
      In terms of your question - the Morph transition effect will just show up as a fade-type animation in earlier versions of PowerPoint. You will still be able to open a PowerPoint 2016 slide deck in earlier version of PPT up to 2007 (I think). To open PPT decks in earlier than 2007 versions, you would have to save it in Compatibility Mode.
      I actually still do have the 2007 version of MS Office on one of my older laptops. I just opened a PowerPoint 2016 deck with the Morph transition and it displays as a fade-in. Hope this helps.
