- Here is a friendly match between my friend Joy and me. I will analyze the major tactics used on both sides. Please let me know if you like this content and if you have suggestions for future analysis matches.
Suggestion: The exact same type of video but with commentary from BOTH players on what they were thinking during a match.
Hearing your thoughts in a game like this is super helpful for me that is just getting into this sport.

Ah this was so cool. I dont get any of it but i see skill.
You know, you don't get ready fast on your own serve in these games. Its why slower serves are doing so well for you vs Joy here, its letting you get in position. Its a double whammy because Joy wants to play with topspin, its her entire game in fact. A good illustration of this is the end of game 2. You should be planted and ready to move by the time the ball hits your opponent's side. But you were still moving there even after she had already hit it. On your follow up you cover as well as possible, but because you were out of position you have no power/spin behind the ball and Joy dominates it. If you get ready faster on your own serve you would become quite deadly because of your quick strokes and good touch.
Yep, I am way to slow to recover after serves. I worked on it with my coach last session where I serve and he feeds me a multiball push right after serve. It helps me recover super fast so regular games serve recovery seems easy

You sure you're 2100? Stance too high, didn't move back after long serve, stay too close to table for rally, attack not powerful enough, etc.
