Thanks Rich, I'd been interested to watch yours if you make one, especially if there is another way to do lighting. This is the only way I know how LOL
Hi! It has helped me a lot, thanks! One question, how could I do so that as time goes by that light in the character goes off and that I need to collect sprites so that this light doesn't go off? Thank you also ^^
Add a 'health bar' or 'power gauge' to your torch. When the gauge is 0 set light off. I have tutorials on both power gauges and health bars which may help.
I play indie games from my subscribers and was unable to play windows builds. In terms of performance for construct it's more or less the same experience.
Lol. This reminds me of when I was first getting started following Marlins tutorials. It's not working, there must be something wrong with Marlins code. It can't be me. LoL

very helpful, its sad C3 doesn't have a built in lighting system though, hopefully they add it in the future
Yeah for sure, it's the only thing they are really lacking in think.
Nice tutorial Xanderwood! This is always a very intriguing feature in 2D games!
Thanks. Construct is awful for lighting. This is the only way I could think to make it work
The best channel every. You are like the construct 3 of Brackeys
You are the Brackeys reborned.
Hey, thanks for such a kind comment. Brackeys channel is amazing, I only hope one day I can be half as good as that.

@@XanderwoodGameDev maybe i'll do it at some point, just doing one for ladders at the moment
This is soo cool, I'm gonna look into implementing sine waves for Unity
Nice. I love a good sine wave, it can add a nice touch of polish.

There is a way to attack the torch to the player with some kind of command? Or that need a new animation on the player sprite? Thanks
I'm not sure what you mean. Do you mean have the ability for the player to pick up and put down the torch?
@@XanderwoodGameDev yes , without do an animation for that?
can u make ladder so yo can go up and down
Yeah that's pretty simple. I'll make the tutorial soon.

do you know how to make it different colors?
You can probably add an effect to it to do this. I think there is one called color. Then change the rgb in the event sheet
@@XanderwoodGameDev alright ill try that
can you make a tutorial so that the light doesn't pass through solids pls if possible
Can you leave tutorial requests on my discord. I have a channel for suggestions 👍
very cool!
Thanks ❤
Can this also be used for a 3D game?
I don't think so. But I haven't done much with 3D
Well now you're just giving my secrets away. lol.
Haha sorry buddy :)
I see you have switched from mac to windows, I definitely like windows more. Although I was wondering why you've switched.
