I built this base as a Dino Pen for the Giant Turtle.
I wanted to get it out of the Water while I built on it and thought a Submarine Dry Dock/Construction Yard would be a great design.
I used 2 Ocean Platforms and placed them next to each other, I had to figure out a way of covering the gaps between the platforms.
The base has workshops, crafting areas, offices and a control room that can all be used for more practical Ark things :) but they add to the Design.
This is a full how to build tutorial.
In this tutorial, there are a lot of Ark building ideas and building tips that can be used on your base designs.
This Base was built on official settings and No Mods so it can be built on Ark Survival Evolved Xbox One, PS4 and PC servers and single player.
Ark Survival Evolved has amazing building mechanics, there are endless ways to design and build your base. Hope you enjoy the build :)

they REALY shouldve made it so that the platforms snap to each other with a button en/dis able the snapping
Could be worse though. As much as I wish there were a snap feature, they do come with ladders, so you can use the old ladder trick with them, and get more accuracy. Still though... if only.
@@theyammi437 with no clip on, if you get them to close to each other both stop working, for example i build on one of the platforms and wanted to start on the other and it said "to far away from platform" even tho it wasnt connected to the other platform what so ever and it was the first ceiling so it shouldve been fine, my guess is that the game thought that it was part of the other platform or something
Great video and build. I was thinking the other day with the fact that we have these water platforms now I would love to see someone do a video build even if its a multi part video of the stargate atlantis city in the water and using metal or tek building pieces.

Ive found that its easier to line the ocean platforms if you place one down then go to the edge in the center, look down until you can barely see the water and use the edge to make sure you are straight, then line up the center squares of each platform
Absolutely amazing build! Love the genesis builds and maybe try to do something for the astrocetus or the magmasaur next :)
Yeah I think a Magmasaur build would be a good project, I am just finishing a couple more Bog Biome builds and I am heading to the Lava Biome next :)

I’ve been building (and getting eaten by raptors, not sure which I am better at) since the game came out in preview for Xbox a few years ago and your builds definitely stand out from some of the other people who do the build vids, top job matey. Do you have the means for me to send you some images of a few of my ships? Its what I’m good at. you like em I’d love to find a way to put the designs out there for people. Am working to official server settings at the moment so all the designs can be used on any server. Either way keep up the epic builds matey, all the best. Captain fatbeard.

Trying to build something similar to this but the game’s doing everything in its power to prevent me from doing that. Man, these ocean platforms are so buggy! You can’t build on the edges without sometimes getting the “too far away from platform” error, despite the fact that you’re trying to build literally on top of the platform. Wildcard, fix this pls.

Thanks Yammi, and I have noticed that my self and some other things it's like it registers the land below underwater? And another thing it would not let me place foundations on the platform only ceilings, but I have seen others building foundations on them lol
imagine my thatch raft and my c4 breaking this because of how boats work in this game

love this build. found my next project. only thing I'm gonna try different is the stairs for turtle to go up. I'm gonna try and continue the stairs an additional 2 stories high than build the platform for the turtle to rest on. this will hopefully allow me to still have water tames below him as well and have some kind of quarters below.

you inspired my first build and it is beautiful. when I started I didnt think I would do good but after a few of ur videos it changed how I saw things. it's small but efficient. I get so many compliments and nobody has anything like it. thank you.

Mr. Pilgrims, The design of the walls reminds me of the Stronghold in that movie with the creatures called…. ‘White Spikes’? (Don’t remember movie name) They also look absolutely amazing! And the ‘DryDock’ Look reminds me of the hangars for the Jaegers in Pacific Rim (2 of my favourite movies!)

Banging build loved this 1 for ages! BTW I've seen people talk about being able to use foundations on these platforms; is it better to use foundations or ceilings for these? Also what's the best methods to join the platforms?

Incase you didn't know, you can snap the stair/ramp to the inside and place a ceiling tile to the bottom. Metal is 4 blocks deep, and wood is only 2.
So you can make a ocean pen 4 “walls” deep if you use metal?? If so that saved my planned build!

Using a metal platform and it doesn’t let me go below two walls down to attach ceilings. I can put a third wall down but not attach anything to it
When I was finally done with the side walls I accidentally destroyed the ocean base platform

You can get the platforms alot closer together than that.

You can use a ladder, some walls, and a ceiling or two with K mode and you can get it a tad more even! The walls/ceiling have to be high enough though to place the platform correctly.
Thanks for the tip I have used that idea with the ladders on other builds after watching Captain fatdog videos :)

I'd love to see more industrial builds. Maybe I can come up with some ideas for myself
I managed to get the two ocean platforms close enough, with no collision on, to get it where I only needed two ceilings for the middle instead of the third.
If you want to, I can show you my rendition of the build once I finish it after work today! I turned it into more of a water based pen for my dinos, and I'm currently fleshing out the innards and upper walls.
How did it go
@@colts9611 It went well! The main issue is that it was too many entities in one area, so it caused little lag spikes when going into/out of the area. Otherwise it was an awesome build for the sake of building it.
btw as a hint: for those that want to build this/something similiar and have noclip structures active:
if you build the platforms to close to each other you will run into issues, i had two platforms next to each other and after 20 minutes of building i couldnt build on the second one anymore because "structure is to far away from the platform" eventho it was just a wall directly ontop of the 3x3 ring of the platform
so turning noclip structures off meant you could build ? im having the issue not even 5 min in.... driving me insane
@@jakemalficvision8683 havent tried with that off, so far i just destroyed all platforms and started over...

Foundations snap to the platform. Place one with a ladder and align yourself with the pillar where the rope ladder is attached

Is it better to use foundation or ceiling ? So confused atm, I've built 4 platforms and trying to connect them atm but don't know how I should do it lool

I dont trust in dino leash. had my dinos bug out of range twice. So what I do is have one dino one passive with others on neutral following it. Always worked since when Legacy were Official (PVE wise).
Fantastic video, but I have a question. When I place the fence foundations they don't fit flush like they are for you and the walls and ceilings end up misaligned. How are you getting the fence foundations to fit flush?
I think it would be cool if u did something like stilt town but on the platform

I've been trying to somewhat replicate this but I'm getting a "this structure is too far away from the platform" when im placing the ceilings on the platform itself. Any idea on how to fix this issue?
You can not build over the side of the platform only on it and into the middle over the water. I was watching Jade Plays Games build his the other day and he got that warning inside his platform but could not figure out why?
This wasn't over the side funnily enough this was physically touching the platform but some how too far away
I ran into an issues like that if the 2 ocean platforms are to close and clipping it’s like it can’t register which platform you are using.

Hey Spuddy I never counted up the structures for this build but if you could count 1 side of the walls on 1 platform and times it by 4 that should give you a good ball park figure

What I wanna know is can one builds an underwater cage from the middle section of the platform? Cuz if yes catching and taming ocean creatures just got a lot easier.
you can only build around 3 walls deep atm but I am really hoping that is an oversite and they will up that limit soon

When I build this on my server it will not be for living, won't be for working or any of that nonsense. This is going to be my state of the art prison. Everyone in my server will be planning prison breaks by the time summer hits.
