You guys are the greatest!!! I am 65 years old and looking for health into my twilight years. You are really helping my to understand what being a human really means for health and longevity. Thank you for the great information.
Depends on the tribe. We Mesoamerican natives are short asf. Im 5'5. My family is from Mexico city 🇲🇽 the ancient Aztec capital. All them corn and beans doesnt help growing tall. I do have cousins from the USA native americans who are 6'7 and 7+ feet tall. They had better access to high quality proteins since they come from hunter gatherers. In Mesoamerica we had civilization and agriculture. Less meats.
Yup you said it yourself. Latin American diet is not optimal in the slightest while the foods we have available naturally in the Great Plains of North America are. The tallest states of America are all concentrated in the Midwest and Great Plains.
That’s probably the case cause my parents are Triquis from Oaxaca Mexico and they ain’t that tall. Dad is 5’2 and mom is 4’10 but I’m about 6ft.I don’t know how I managed to get so big but it probably had to do with diet
I agree entirely. Im from Jemez Pueblo, and our diet was very similar to mesoamerican diets, and we really only get around 5’6-5’8. We might have a 6 foot person on a good year, but mostly we’re all short. But there was good genetic advantage for us being short and brown. In the red rocks, it wouldn’t have been good for us to be tall and paler like some plains tribes! We were short, brown, and stalky, which was better for us living in the red rocks, because we blended in a lot better. Being tall would’ve given us away too much.
Depends, the chichimecas were a mexican tribe in northern mexico and it was documented for them to be between 5'9 to 6 feet tall. They were definitely tall.
I'm 6'2" Litte Traverse Bay Band Of Odawa Indians in Petoskey, and Harbor Springs, MI. Some are just fat now because we don't have to hunt anymore, just sit on our butt eating aunties frybread and corn soup 😂
And when you get sick your doctor tells you to reduce the amount of red meat you're eating, right? And that cholesterol from meat is bad for your health. And that's unfortunately lies that we keep on being told
In my humble opinion, Native Americans are the most beautiful nation in the world. They have been blessed in every aspect: strength, height, stamina, skills and, by a country mile (an old saying in England meaning miles and miles and miles) the best hair and skin! I’ve been mesmerised by their beautiful black, thick and shiny hair all my life. 😊
People comentibg think that diet is the reason for taller stature but it's not, it has an influence but the actual reason for taller stature is GENETICS AND HEREDITARY DNA
South Koreans, Chinese, Japanese have exponentially gotten taller in the last 60+ years do to better diet, such as meats, where as before their source of protein was fermented soy. Average height of a Japanese man was 5'5" and now the average Japanese, Chinese, Korean men are 5'10" and taller. I do believe diet plays a major role on human development.
So the average native Americans were actually taller then the Europeans back then? I don't see a lot of native Americans but I do remember when i was 10 living in Oklahoma there was this native American girl that was way taller than me. She might have been a whole foot taller and we were the same age. Not sure how tall she grew to be since I only saw her that one year.
The Osage tribe was the ones who were taller and more robust who were nearly or entirely wiped out by the skinny little Comanche because they mastered horseback riding and fighting which the spanish introduced
