Currently, the Astros can field a team that can be competitive on a daily basis, and maybe even win a really bad division, but has no chance of winning another title. That's how it goes. As a life-long fan (as in from the VERY beginning) I have no issue with a rebuild at this point. WHAT A HELLUVA RUN this has been!! Few teams have had a run like this. So...now it's time to re-tool and go for another run! The Astros set the blueprint for rebuilding a franchise with this 10-year run. While you do not have the same personnel in place that managed that rebuild, you now know HOW to do it. So, now we have to do it. Bregman is gone to FA. Tucker, in particular, and Valdez will bring in TONS of draft capital on the trade market. Hader should go as well (free up some of that money). Of course Altuve and Alvarez stay if they want to. If they don't then make sure you get good deals for them. There are other names I haven't mentioned, but putting it all together, the Astros could RAKE in serious draft prospects and positions. Yes, we may have to endure a couple of really bad seasons. But, if we KNOW it's all part of the plan, then it becomes a bit more bearable. I'm sure most of you will not agree, and that's cool. That's just my opinion. Peace.
It would be nice if we had players who cared about the fans and understood how these crazy raise ticket, concession, gifts, jerseys, etc to where the average Joe can't afford to take his family to a game.
@@benf1111 that's not going to happen. The US is deeply entrenched in the team sports culture. The chance that fans stop buying tickets, buying team gear and watching sports on TV is about as likely as people stop looking at their phones.
Astros can’t resign Tucker and even Valdez because they won’t give long contracts. It’s better to trade them both and recoup some talent. Astros should trade players a year before they hit free agency because we don’t believe in long contracts but other teams are ready to do them.
Crane hired Dana Brown bc he thought he could extend guys like Tucker for a reasonable price like they did in Atlanta. If we would have known we were just gonna lose everyone, I would have rather kept James click. He made smart trades, like the one for Yanier. I don’t trust Dana brown
I love Tucker. Gotta look at the facts dude sucks in the playoffs. Might as well get a haul and try to retool the best we can. We still have a top 5 rotation in all of the MLB. If our offense is average we will compete this year.
They should resign Bregman and trade Tucker to the Cubs for Suzuki and Parades and hopefully at least one prospect. That would reload the Astros and give them a good shot at returning to the playoffs next season.
No way cubs give up Cam or Shaw. Shaw is a stud and will pay 2nd or 3rd for cubs based on if they trade Nico or not, and Cam projects to be a stud by this time next year in MLB prospect list. Seiya and Peredies is very possible with a Cub prospect in the 5-10 range (think alcantara or triantos). Seiya does have a no trade though so Houston may have to convince him.
I don't want to lose Cam Smith but I'm worried it could be a possibility. Cam is every bit as good of a prospect as Matt Shaw is, just one year behind. He's my #2 prospect behind Shaw.
If the Yankees, Cubs, and other teams think Tucker is so great then why don’t they give us one of their top players and throw in a great prospect with the deal as well? We’ll do that deal real quick! Real quick!
With $600 million dollars build new Astros Facilities in different Countries. Pakistan won the Baseball Championship with Cricket as the #1 sport. Astros really need to invest in Pakistan, India. Those 2 countries have the best Players. Bowling and Batting is a Passion. Broke kids playing in the slums with no shoes on a broken pothole street. Please bring a Facility to Pakistan and India.
The cubs won’t trade their best prospects for someone who is going to test free agency. The Yankees will over pay for Tucker. Do you think the Astros shouldn’t do that?
Bregman was a goner he has much as said that during last season. As far as Tucker get something for him.. Don’t just let him just walk, it’s stupid stars to just walk away for almost nothing except a draft pick because you offered a qualifying offer.
These guys don’t care about fans just the fat check… ridiculously fat contracts to play a game. Baseball needs a cap lol at the marlins literally a triple a team they don’t care about winning. Seeing all these top money contracts teams
With the way things are setup economically, with the largest market teams keeping their revenues, baseball will never be a level playing field. The NFL and NBA have figured it out, MLB needs to. Until that point, long term success by small and medium market teams will only be lightning in a bottle. There needs to be equal revenue sharing so a team is judged on the competence of its front office and players, not the thickness of its wallet.
Kyle and Valdez can walk, go get what you can for them. But for the fans the Astros have to make it right and keep Bregman. We let Springer, Correa, and Gurriel walk…….. Smh we have to keep atleast 2 of the original core! Crazy how so many people throw shade at the Astros, but become major d&@k riders when our players become free agents 😂😂😂.
No point in trading Suzuki as the Cubs, he's your best hitter. You want Suzuki and Tucker batting 3,4. And I'm not letting go of Shaw or Smith. They are your #1 and #2 best prospects. Both easily top 30 in all of baseball. If Tucker agrees to a $400 mil sign and trade? Sure, I might let go of Smith. But he's a stud 3B of the future. It is atrocious to expect him for 1 year of anyone. And not even as your top guy, but the 3rd in your player haul.
Tucker is not even worth $125 million in my opinion! The more important the game the more he chokes! I don’t want a guy like that on my team! He should change his name to Kyle Choker since it’s more appropriate!
These Astros players better days are behind them. Bregman is just too inconsistent. How many times did he come up with runners on base and he popped up???
I think trading Tucker is the right move, and i think his trade value rises as time goes by. I dont think they have to be impatient here. In fact I think waiting til the season is underway would sweeten the pot on the return.

Soon the average fans could only watch them play at home! Which is exactly what I’m doing!
The only way is to stop buying tickets and gear. Money is the only language the owners understand.

Trade the assets you have for top prospects, tank a year or 2 , and they'll be back on top with a strong farm system as well
What do you think trading Kyle Tucker to the Cubs for Suzuki Parade and Smith

Rookie of the year and a top 15 mlb prospect for a rental ! Juan Soto wasn’t even that expensive to trade. You get one or the other buddy
I think the Phillies give us a haul for Tucker, they probably see him as the missing piece.
