Thank, thank you, THANK YOU for doing "Inside the Whale"! I've been playing the game since I was 7 and have always been curious of what's in those swinging bio-domes. It was actually my favorite area as a kid. You can imagine how excited I was when you announced you were doing an episode on SMB because I just KNEW you were gonna cover it. It took 2 decades later, but now I finally got a good look on what's going on in there. Kudos Shesez, this vid is gonna be a favorite of mine!

The Inside a Whale world was always so interesting for it's setting. Like even as a kid, I was floored that there were near perfect LIVING SPACES FOR HUMANS INSIDE A WHALE! Like why? But it wasn't until the remake that I realized the bottom contents were highway roads and a full on skyscraper. Like this whale must be some sort of monster that swallowed part of a city. Honestly, it's just so cool to look at (maybe not for any survivors living inside the whale though, probably less cool for them).

I wonder if the devs planned to send you this a long time ago, and that's why they put so much work into making an impressive zoom-out in some stages for the remake. Because, logically, you'd think that upon remaking a game, they would opt to do _less_ unnecessary work than what was in the original, not more.
Either way, episode turned out exactly as I was hoping. Getting to see all the details of the background elements is awesome, and I'm happy the devs put so much work into making them.

It's crazy how all out the originals went. In most cases (when it came to small and unseen details in the backgrounds) I would argue that the originals looked much better and less broken than the remake, although the remake is still great as it compiles all these games and does it's best to replicate those farr off details, but with an extra level of vibrant colors. I think the coolest part about this though is Sega's interaction with the community with this game. Definitely an awesome move on their end.

This really shows how much love went into the original, and how much has gone into the remake. I’m still on the fence about purchasing Banana Mania as I truly love SMB2 and can still play it easily, but props to Sega for this.
