    Great tutorial, Miriam! Congratulations on becoming an MSQC influencer! I have been a devoted customer and huge fan of theirs for about 12 years. Excellent project choice too, a quilted book cover is not something “everyone” is doing. My daughter and I are both members of Book of the Month club and most of their books are the same size, so I’m going to make covers for us to use. It will be great to help keep the books clean for those late night reads while snacking!😆 I’ve never tried hand quilting either, but I’m going to try it now. I’ve subscribed to your channel and look forward to seeing your future tutorials! ❤

      Yay! Thank you so much for subscribing and watching, Wendy! Oh my goodness, I didn't even think of that! The covers will definitely protect the books from snacky fingers! haha!!! And yes, hand quilting is quite fun! I wanna make a new quilt, so I can hand quilt the whole thing! LOL!

    Have you tried the fusible grid for sewing squares together? ❤

    • @StitchObsessed
      @StitchObsessed  ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven’t! I saw a demo of it this past summer at a quilt show and I was very intrigued! I’ll have to order some and test it out!

  • @jennifergaylor4593

    This project would work well with grid fusible. I don't sew together that small of pieces. Your project is way to cute!!

    Miriam, your channel just showed up in my feed and oddly enough I have been wanting to make some fabric covers for a Journal, what are the odds. Firstly I was impressed with your age and your confidence. I was seconds away from messaging you about making a fabric tab for your zipper when you did just that. Is their any reason why you didn't quilt through the back of your book cover? If I were you I would have cut your zipper tail a little shorter than you would not need to pin it. Thanks so much for the great tutorial Tracy from Idaho

    • @StitchObsessed
      @StitchObsessed  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, Tracy! 👋 thank you so much! I didn’t quilt through the inside of the cover since I wasn’t using binding to conceal the raw edges. And you’re so right about the zipper tail! I actually put it up into the cover under my planner so it’s completely conceal now 👏🏻🤓 thank you so much for watching!

  • @topaztorres148
    @topaztorres148 ปีที่แล้ว

    Could you use the zippers tail as a bookmark type thing for the journal?

    • @StitchObsessed
      @StitchObsessed  ปีที่แล้ว

      I definitely could when the zipper is open!
