2023 Toyota GR Supra Manual Review - is it better than the automatic?

  • GR Supra is the James Bond of Toyotas. It is the dinner-suited charmer who can take your head off without a second thought.
Written Review and brochuse HERE: gaycarboys.com/does-2023-toyo...
ride is firm even in the softest drive mode, and brakes and steering have a sporty yet gentle feel. There isn’t a huge amount of space inside, so pack thoughtfully for that romantic getaway. Then again, who the hell needs clothes on a romantic tryst anyway?
It’s difficult to see how anyone could find fault. The handling is rear-wheel-drive heaven with just a smidge of give before the nannies slap you on the wrists.
We did a couple of mountain pass trips enroute to the Cottages “up the farm.” The boys were not backward about their critique, with Casper, Max and Ethan telling anyone who would listen, that the “BMW” was ok. I had expected a little more. They all though GR Supra was over-designed and that the cabin was “a trifle anal retentive.”
The reversing camera is a touch on the small side, but everything else got top marks.

Excellent review, Allan. Thankyou. While manual cars are sadly disappearing from our showrooms the good news is that in the future one of the best anti theft devices on a car will be a manual gearbox! Is that filmed on the Old Pacific Highway? It’s sad to see the tax office is trying so hard to fleece people of their money just for enjoying themselves on such a beautiful road.

It was filmed in the Royal National Park, with the return trip on the Princes Highway. The Grand Pacific Drive section is scenic, but there is nowhere to overtake, sadly.

Excellent review and have always loved a manual.
Pity they have taken away heel and toeing & my long practised art of double shuffling. I’m clearly a dinosaur 😂.
A ridiculously useless small boot so it could never be a daily driver or even be practical for country trips.
Very pricey and a real disappointment in both exterior and interior appearance and space.
Think I’ll continue to lust after a Giulia Veloce despite its being an automatic and before we are all forced to drive electric vehicles.

it is one of those cars where soft luggue only will do. there is a small section behind the seats which could be used, but it is a difficult shape.
