The movie is a pastiche of a bunch of older spy movies, not just the Bond movies. Spy comedies like 'In Like Flint' (which pops up on one of the TVs in this movie) and others of that era were also referenced (stuff Myers used to watch with is father) which is where the more flamboyant Austin Powers aesthetic comes from versus the more reserved, debonair Bond style. Dr. Evil and his henchmen ARE a fairly direct reference to the Bond franchise and tropes. Dr. Evil was Myers combining the look of the recurring Moore era Bond villain Ernst Stavro Blofeld and the personality/voice of his old SNL boss Lorne Michaels.
" Factory in Chicago that makes miniature models of factories " It's a silly joke but it just cracks me up every time. Maybe it's the way Robert Wagner delivers the line and his smile... The sequels are fun too. Wait till you see the opening 5 minutes of the 3rd one, it will blow you away. Plus it has a Godzilla joke that is comedy genius.
Apparently Mike Meyers wants to do another AustinPowers movie but contractorally he is obligated to do another cat in the hat first. And he does not want to.
for some reason in the USA and not only everyone cut out this scene, but here in Russia they even showed it on TV, in general these are scenes because of the subtlety of humor of which I loved this film, it’s a shame that you are deprived of these scenes) th-cam.com/video/Ag_AFraxj-4/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/hD3w_VdTG30/w-d-xo.html
the fact that you recognized the Seinfeld guys was awesome. *_No Soup For You_* !!!
Great reaction guys to a mike meyers classic, The 2 sequels are also very funny. Big thumbs up
You're right, the blackjack dealer was the Soup Nazi in Seinfeld.
6.34 the guy giving Austin his things back is an old friend of his, Myers presented a kids show on UK TV with him in the 80's.
It's easy to overlook, but the secret UN council chamber is 'The War Room' from 'Doctor Strangelove'
"Gentlemen! There's no fighting in The War Room!"
Not sure if you know this or not, but Mike Myers played Dr. Evil
The original Bond parodys was 'In like Flint" and Matt Helm "The Ambushers"..

They spoofed the silly names from Bond very nicely. Pusst Galore became Alotta Fajina and Odd Job became Random Task. It's a very silly movie.
Yes, that is really Burt Bacharach.
Random Task is a take on Oddjob from Goldfinger. Frau is a take on Rosa Klebb a Russian female army general that works for spectre.
Fun fact: Mike Meyers didnt want to be in Cat in the Hat but because of some contract he was forced to
Austin looks like he's in the Partridge Family.
👍
You are right. She is british.
Will Ferrel is in this the guy with the RED hat at DR EVILS table
Like James Bond , the 'International Man of Mystery ', is more a celebrity than a secret agent.

I don't think Deadpool referenced that scene, I think they just used the same joke.
Watch more silly comedies please!
-Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby
-Blades of Glory
-Nacho Libre
A great movie, loved your reactions. It’s always better when people get the JB references 😆. Thanks both 👍👏🏻👏🏻🇬🇧
