Depends, skylight on a flat roof? Just strip it in like any other roof curb. Most skylights ive used just pop back on and screw in around the sides. Reusing old skylights can be tricky for sure. Nice when homeowners are willing to upgrade to a new skylight so u can make sure everything slips back together easily
Very similar to how i do it. My problem is fish mouths especially when the scupper slopes down on an angle. My piece of membrane at the lowest point inside the scuppper tends to fish mouth no matter how much i jam in the 90.
make sure you prime the metal first and try to torch one side of the cap at once, also you dont need to run the cap up the metal on the outside of the scupper. leave it bear. Trying to troch the entire piece like he did wouldbe very hard to get a good seal. you shouldnt need ms detail as a finish. the bleed should be enough.
i would only try and get cap on as little of the metal as possible. bringing it up the sides on the outside like that will create potential leak areas in the future. stop the cap right before the downspout and leave the rest as metal. the rest you did perfect.the MS detail will help but it may be hard to get it all over it properly and technically you would still need to drap jute over the rim of the metal because you brought the cap up to match the shape of the metal on the outside. , which you wouldnt do because it would look bad. im also surprised you heat it up before sticking it in, ive never seen that but whatever works, those scupper are a bitch to do. I think dry laying it would still work too. Just lay it in and try and torch one side at a time. JUst need to lift it and blast on one side then stick your hand in and press itdown hard to one side and in the 90s(primed metal of course). then once it cools a bit lift other side and blast it, if you dont run your cap as far it will be easier too. but good work overall you seem good at your job.
Great guy! I've watched all your videos, which have given me more confidence in roofing my 8*12 shed. Can I ask what type of underlayment is used in your videos, or can I lay it directly on top of the OSB board on the roof?
Good job
Awesome videos. You have any video to finish around skylight. Thanks

Also, thanks for the nice comment!

If your using a mechanically fastened base sheet that bad boy goes right on your deck.
Ложи на ОСБ плиту, только смотри, чтобы ничего не загорелось. И осб фанеру в начале нанеси праймер.
What do you do for the top of the scupper?
That should have some sort of membrane wrapped around the whole thing before the scupper.
