Oh nice, so you just nail and torch the 3" lap directly onto the dry plywood. I know the Okanagan is full of redneck retards and drug addicts but this shit takes the cake. Catch your ply on fucking fire and fuck manufacturer guidelines, put only 1/4 the # of fasteners they require as well. Saves money! The Okanagan BLOWS, lived in Kelowna and surrounding area for 6 years and it's shithole, full of retards and wannabe rich boomers. The only nice thing is the weather and the scenery!
Nice job, buddy! Good to see someone doing it right
Really 😂😂😂 look at the scorch marks 😮😮
What is the name of that paper and can I just put it on top of regular plywood
What a pro, I can imagine the mess I would make if I tried to do this. Love the smell of bitumen, but would imagine that there are all sorts of cancer causing volatiles that these guys are exposed to daily. Do they get sick when they are retired?
I think he should retire instantly 😂😂😂 What a mess just look at the scorch marks for a start 😂
@OLDSKOOLRAVER1 pop another pill junkey.
Nothing screams insecurity more than publicly calling out a coworker's shortcomings, especially on a platform like TH-cam where the targeted individual may not be able to respond effectively. This reveals your desperate need to elevate oneself by tearing others down, stemming from a lack of confidence in one's own abilities and ideas. It undermines workplace respect, damages credibility, and exposes the accuser's inability to address issues constructively, ultimately reflecting more on their own character flaws and vulnerabilities. Also not taking shared ownerships of the company to “preserve friendship” is hilarious apparently you quit 3 times and take consistent “mental health” week off work I’m amazed people can take you seriously
Thanks for your comment! 😊
Good job. You came off Mark tho
Good job
Wow...Best I've seen...looks excellent job...
Looool yeah love the scorch marks 😂😂😂
Good fukn work I need to attempt that more LMAO

My roof was done this way at my house in 1976 never had one leak were coming up on 50 years.
I'm grateful for my wife and kids! Keep me going everyday..im grateful for life. Waking up every morning is a blessing, and some dont get that 🙏 im grateful I found you on TH-cam. you're a good man and always put out good content cheers mate
Great things to be grateful for dude! Cheers!
Nice work thorching down soprema i prefer to thorch soprema its good product
Nice job!!! What kind of torch is that? Thank you!
Thank you! That torch is called a Magnum. Pretty powerful for a detail torch I'll admit but I love it
Sending love from the uk bro ❤️
Trahan Thursdays!!
I done this 12 x12 ft roof in 80s with yhe 4mm thick stuff no stones it was so satisfying watching it bubble with torch my problem was bright summer sunshine I could see the flame on torch
No pressure on the roll
I push down with my cane and it also gets weight from the roll itself as it rolls out 🤘🏽🔥
We use a roll bar and stand on the roll and push it with our feet
@@jamestonks3042 ive heard that before... Maybe a different product than we use here but theres only a couple months out of the year we can walk on it without marking it up and putting out boot prints in the cap sheet
Yeah when it's very warm it does mark with your feet
Ciao, vengo dal Marocco e faccio bene questo lavoro. È possibile lavorare con la vostra azienda?
Good to see you back bro 🙏
Awesome videos. You have any video to finish around skylight. Thanks
Depends, skylight on a flat roof? Just strip it in like any other roof curb. Most skylights ive used just pop back on and screw in around the sides. Reusing old skylights can be tricky for sure. Nice when homeowners are willing to upgrade to a new skylight so u can make sure everything slips back together easily
Also, thanks for the nice comment!
canadian walter white?!?!

Jesus effing Christ! I thought I was over seeing low quality amateurish roofing work on youtube after watching Flat Roof Doctor videos. This video proves I was wrong. I had to stop watching after three minutes. Torcher gentleman just ignored his side lap and I wonder if any hot tar has come out along those seems. It looks he is torching in pretty cold weather too, where you need even more be careful to applying proper heat. With his end lap he showed remarkably little experience besides not even using a trowel !!?? Why do people post videos in skill required work when they have not a proper training and experience? Jesus !
Woah woah woah pal... Lets see your work! Why use a trowel to mark up your end lap when you can use a wonge and make it look BEAUTIFUL?! The side laps get between an 1/8th and 1/4" bleedout as per manufacturer specifications and if they look iffy we trowel check them everyday. Please put a link to your roofing video, im DYING to see the quality you are talking about 🙈
@@thetrahanman First, here in California the city code is 3/8 of an inch for bleed out, occasional quarter inch is acceptable, but freeze frame your video at 1:44 min for example. Look at his shoe standing on the seem behind it there is at least eighteen to twenty inches of seem without any bleed out. Also when he uses a camp fire iron and a block of 2x4 wood to smooth out end lap that shows the person has no clue about basic torching principles. Inhere I will not teach you but if you happen to be in the San Fernando Valley, twenty minutes from Hollywood, I'd be only happy to show you what I am talking about. Me, I am after six surgeries on both of my knees and am not sure if I can do much torching with the pains I am dealing with. Of course how to properly do seems I could do even right now. There is a slight chance that I will be doing a torch project around the end of the month, if I do for sure I'll make a short video to post on youtube. So far I have not seen a single roofer on youtube who is in total understanding of his craft. Now what I can offer you is a few photographs on roofs I've done prior to my surgeries. They are in my old mobile phones which I should be able to print out and could send it to you if you wish and provide me with contact info. Basically, you have my e.mail address if you remove the numbers from my name and just add @gmail.com
@@gusmarokity6482 hey i appreciate your effort with these comments. Sure there probably could have been more bleedout lol fact of the matter is, I didnt. Will it leak, no. Will it stand up to the elements. Yes. Will it last for 25 years, almost certainly. No one is perfect and I'm sure if I came and inspected your work i would find stuff I didn't like. I found your comment to be aggressively rude, but that's your thing man. I've been roofing long enough to develop thick skin. Good luck with your health. Roofing is tough on our bodies! Hope you heal up fast!
@@thetrahanman Sorry for sounding rude but thanks for the good wishes. Your predictions as to the quality of your job I am not a believer. Even if you have your proper bleed showing there's no guaranty it will last if not both layer was heat to proper temperature. That is a common mistake many a roofer commits. Good news, I have my short video done and only have to see how is it to post to youtube. Oh, if you come and inspected my work you'll be hard pressed to find any stuff you don't like, unless you're not in the know.
Sweet rippins man!! Got the chilly snow covered background n shit miss them days!! Killer time to run hot or to be torching as long as she’s above 52 degrees is that still code? I roofed for 20yrs up in Greater Seattle area union non union wherever the big bucks were! On all them big jobs inspectors watching for days😅checking kettle temps, monitoring outside temps etc. Big jobs up there I remember that shit fort warden, whidbey naval, prisons, schools on all the big flat roofs built up or not them inspectors was a watching!! Good workmanship keep it alive
Hell ya dude! Im in the Okanagan now but roofed in much colder conditions when I was in Calgary... The only thing that sucks in cold weather is its harder to get pressure for our torches so definitely everything slows down. Heat blankets around the propane tanks help for sure! Thanks for the comment! Roof on good sir!
GET SHIT ON NERDS!
Trahan it’s Schmoke :) can’t believe your in my TH-cam feed haven’t played with bever in a while hope you guys are all doing great !
Hell ya dude! Happy to see you here!!!
Look in ur face, bro😲🤣🤣🤣🤣🤌Now I understand how I look from the outside when I play🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hahaha IN THE ZONE!!
Good job you need to show the roof doc how to do it tidy
Hey, thank you!!
How long does this type of roofing last, and does anyone offer a high end material to compete with shingles, or is this strictly low pitch? Looks bullet proof
They usually get a 20 year warranty on the west coast. This type of roof is strictly for low-pitched roofs, so-called "flat roofs" .
@@sevensages5279 strictly? Guessing the reason is people dont want that look on their house, but looks fine to me and would make taxes cheaper and never blow off.. Who in your opinion makes the most durable and heavy stuff? Thanks
Epdm (synthetic rubber) is one of the most durable and economical(lasts up to 50yrs) roofing systems. Carlisle SynTec Systems is a manufacturer of all those type of roofing materials- Epdm Pvc and Tpo. All for flat roof applications!
It's a lifetime roof, so 25-30 years manufacturer warranty. It can compete with shingles but can be difficult to apply on steeper slopes for sure. Id say a direct competitor for shingles would be a metal roof. They are definitely gaining popularity here!
My roof was done this way lasted almost 50 years no leaks installed when my house was built in 1976. I'm in the south west desert get 120F heat.
Why 2 layers and not just one layer ? I see a smooth layer and an asphalt layer. Assuming the asphalt granules protect the bitumen from the sun, but could you just go with just the granule layer only? Or is having the first smooth layer double protection? Also if I’m doing this over bare concrete, of course with a primer, should I just do the smooth layer? Or smooth layer plus asphalt layer. We would cover the layer(s) with rocks at the end
Manufacturer spec. Im sure you COULD get away with 1 layer but its sold as a 2-ply system
😂😂😂
Crazy 🤣
@@jamesbaker-fu2zihaha hey I’m pretty new to this and just asking 😆
Also edge lap up
Yuppers!
Wheres the fire extinguisher should be using a proper roller bar ?
Fire extinguisher was like 10' away and i dont know about a roller bar. Here in Canada this is how its done. Torch weld the cap to the base while pulling with pull cane. The weight of the roll pushes the two membranes together and pushes out the bleedout at the seam. When you get to the end of the roll you have to push down with your cane to get a better bond and push out the bleedout. Happy roofing!
Yep, you've nailed it mate.Good job. Regards from Wales
Thank you!
@@MrFlatroofer islam is cancer
Stay in Wales doing your work if you think this is a good job 😂😂😂 more scorch marks than a burnt firework 😂😂😂
