    I have a WR, it's funny reading all the too top heavy comments. I am sure most of these people are just repeating what others have said. Just get used to whatever bike you have, don't fall for marketing propaganda or you will be getting a new bike every year. For me I want a bike to be in my life for a long time, we journey together and I live and except any foibles the bike had. I bought it as I came from a 660Z, very happy.

      So true, i have a WR as well and had a 950 adventure before (which is known to have a very low center for its seat-height) and i honestly cant feel a significant difference. And i offroad both of them enduro-ish (single trails). People just talk without knowing anything these days. Most probably didnt ride a WR at all

    The idea of the two halves of the tank dates back to the early Dakar times. At that time, the large tanks for the desert ships were made by hand from aluminum. It was easier to build two halves, and then mount them to the left and right. Another advantage was that if a leak was struck in the tank in a fall, the other half of the tank and gasoline could still be saved.

    • @familytvbox5218

    • @willdau
      @willdau 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      @@familytvbox5218 not every bike is made with you in mind. If you think it is dumb, buy another bike. I live in rural Saudi Arabia and I love my World Rally. It is simple and has redundant fuel tanks. When I go on trips deep in the desert or mountains, reliability and redundancy are key. There are plenty of choice for the majority of riders who mainly drives on roads and does small excursions on the weekends.

    For years I have had my 2015 KTM1190R, a bike that still takes me all over on all terrains. I love the Tenere but I find it amazing how ALL the brands keep juggling with power, weight and distance for the larger adventure bikes. End of the day, know where you want to ride, and your limits. Fit the bike to your riding. Really good review by the way.

    Also noticed that the subframe could be lowered down in the bike a bit and since it's taller it would be able to make the foot pegs to be lowered to help with being into the bike instead of feeling like you're up on a flag pole. I'm going to end up talking myself into buying this bike to make these modifications if I'm not careful. Okay I'm going to spill the beans cause my first bike was a Yamaha mx bike back in the 70s and they will always have a place in my heart and this World Raid is no exception and it just looks awesome!

      @@MV-XD2it isn’t a gimmick. It’s about getting the fuel lower. In off road situations it makes it easier to throw around. Maybe KTM does it neater with the 890, but some riders have found with the big bladder tanks that KTM deploys it can hit stuff on really narrow tracks, or if you go through a rut. This T7 setup still keeps in narrow around the engine casing.

    Great review. Before changing the screen try this, temporarily place a smooth plastic or even maybe stiff cardboard sheet the same width of the screen BEHIND it just above the cut out at the bottom. Based on years of experimentation with screens (not this one yet but at some point I will) I bet that this will supercharge the airflow behind the screen which will lift the buffeting air-flow over your helmet without putting an ugly and less effective screen in place. If this works, then make an elegant permanent solution based on some black/tinted/clear plastic. A taller screen does not necessarily reduce buffeting, but in my experience, a "behind the screen" air-flow accelerator often can do, providing there is a gap at the screen base like there is on this bike. When you get it right, it can totally eliminate buffeting and still look cool rather than look like a Police patrol bike or your grans scooter.

    • @NothingToProve
      @NothingToProve  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmm...I wonder why none of the OEMs or after market companies have made a product like this before. Cause it sounds like something I'd try and it does not make the screen bigger. Maybe you should start your own company and send me a prototype and I'd make a video and post it on my channel...and the rest is history.

    Enjoyed your review, thank you. I appreciate they are different categories, but the challenge that I have is the new price of the World Raid is too close to the base cost of the BMW R1250 GSA. And yes no one buys a base GS, however given that the Tenere don’t have electronics its probably a fair comparison. Given the competition, I think the World Raid is a little expensive - potentially they should have stopped the standard Tenere and just replaced it with the World Raid edition? interested in how others see the value proposition of the World Raid?

      Copied and pasted from my description:
      "The two tanks dates back to the Dakar Rally days, the tanks for the bikes were made by hand out of aluminum. Two separate halves, for the simple reason that if one gets punctured in a fall, the other half of the tank was still good and could continue the race."

    Hello, I think your video thumbnails need to be optimized. Try putting the title words in text boxes. Your most viewed videos have thumbnails that share this aspect. The uniform contrast between text color and it's immediate background (text box color) makes it more legible and interesting. Your current wall calendar aesthetic with font on transparent text box background is a little harder to read especially on the side panel of thumbnails of related videos. And this is coming from a viewer on a computer monitor. Things are going to be worse on a phone or a Tablet. You are putting in a lot of effort. I want you to succeed. Thanks for the great content.

    agreed with respect to the wind adjustment. Otherwise, I would not recommend this bike for off road. Its a heavy fat pregnant whale off road but beautiful to ride on the tar. My weapon of choice is the humble DRZ400E with upgraded 450km tank and lowered gearing to cruise. I have that bike also... beautiful light little donkey that can handle the highway and go absolutely anywhere.

      The market is too big for too little profit, so as usual the U.S. will have to wait till production of this picks up and they can meet the supply and the smaller profit margins 😢 But "business is business".
