Apparently she had been studying both Rhea Seehorn (Voice and mannerisms) and the Nebraska accent quite heavily. And performed a little mix of the two. Crazy how such small roles are filled by such committed and fantastic actors.
That scene was shot in New Mexico but boy it looks nothing like New Mexico. I've been in various parts of NM and never saw anything like those woods. Kudos to location scouts for finding that spot. I wouldn't be surprised if there was some digital enhancement to make the woods bigger and thicker than they actually are.
Little easter egg..the air freshener that Kim held up in court is the same air freshener that the cab driver had in the S4/S5 opening scenes when he outed Jimmy/Saul/Gene.
That’s honestly the appeal for me. More popular shows will kill off a character every week to keep their audience but this show has my full attention just by building up characters
Or season 3 or 4 or 5. I swear all the people saying the pacing is too slow just skipped straight to season 6 when they heard Jesse and Walt would appear.
Few characters have a direct line to my tear ducts the way Mike does. The softness of his interaction with Kaylee made me melt. Jonathan Banks' delivery of _"Love you, baby"_ is just... everything to me.
This show really makes you feel every kind of emotion towards Howard over six seasons lol you hate him, you love him, you can't trust him, he's the only one you can trust
Few interesting points: 1) They focused quite a bit on the license number of Kim's moms car. They are from Nebraska, where Saul end up fleeing to after Breaking Bad. 2) They keep mentioning Omaha beach and D-day. But Omaha is also the name of the city in Nebraska that Saul flees to. 3) When Sauls calls Kim about the problem with the plan, she is rehearsing a line about "justice for all people". Including justice for the bad things she has done...?
Maybe he picked that place so Kim has an excuse to visit that place since he has a family there. Or imagine if Kim was living with Gene, we just never seen her in those scenes just like we never seen Howard's wife
For me, young Kimmy's realization that her mother is thief is a moment in her life that is similar to Jimmy's "wolves and sheep" moment with the con artist at his dad's store. The behavior of these two adults was surprising and eye-opening, and had a profound impact on their lives going forward. Seems like Howard's PI is pretty thorough, which means he would have followed Jimmy and Kim to HHM's building and watched them picnic next to it, then he would have called Howard immediately.... unless maybe he's a fake PI and is being employed by Kim and Jimmy.
I don't think he's fake or bad at his job. But he's a legit guy, for Howard to have hired him. I don't think he would work round the clock, seemed like it was just the one PI. He has to have some times when he's not working. I felt like they would have shown if something Saul and Kim did was giving the game away.
The pictures Jimmy was looking at in his car looked identical to the ones Howard was looking at. So it looks like the PI could be a double agent working for Jimmy and Kim
That cold open is so damn sad... Here's a young girl with an alcoholic mother who is clearly not getting enough, proper care and attention (not the bad connotation one. Just ya know... Kids need parenting!). She acts out, hoping to get some scolding, some parenting, some attention. She thinks that she finally got that from her mother, only to find out that her mother was faking it. On top of all of that, the mother begins enabling and rewarding the bad behavior. That's so sad, man...
I’m really, really enjoying the slow burn of this season. aside from episode 3 we’ve not really had an absolutely incredible episode, but it’s all building and building and I have a feeling we’re gonna have a few cracking eps this season, and I have faith the ending will be great.
John Ennis (the actor who is pretending to be the judge by using a fake moustache) is actually very good friends with Bob Odenkirk. He had a huge role in Mr. Show back in the 90’s with Bob Odenkirk and David Cross. I recognized him immediately!
18:10 This is the point of no return for Kim. She was just minutes away to get a legitimate job which will pay her loads of money while she can help the little guys in full capacity. She chose conning instead of that. It’s the same as Walter rejecting Grey Matter job just to cook meth instead. It’s the same as Jimmy rejecting Howard’s job offer and chose to go full on friend of the cartel Saul Goodman. Kim’s punishment will be soooo big and heartbreaking like Walter’s downfall in Ozymandias. But don’t think that Jimmy is safe from this because he’s in Breaking Bad. He is now running as Gene and I think that while his punishment comes last compared to the other characters like Kim, Jesse and Walter, it will be the biggest one of all or as close to Jesse getting tortured or enslaved. Something like that.
Not really, the "Walter rejecting grey's" was all about his ego. They didn't want him because they wanted him, it was a charity. Saul not accepting Howard's offer - that really mirrored that Walters moment. Saul knew that Howard is doing it only because he feels bad. It wasn't about wanting Saul, it was about Howard trying to make HIMSELF feel better. Again- charity. Kim choosing the con over her job? That reminds me of Walt missing the birth of his own child
I would say it was more like Jesse, who had millions of dollars, and Hank, who would tear apart his own family, choosing to seek satisfaction from Walt, even though he's been retired from the business and was going to die. Not justice, not the right thing, but revenge. Hank and Jesse paid the price for their obsession, but I hope Kim won't have a similar fate, not just because the writers would be repeating themselves, but because that's not what anyone wants or needs to see. I don't know if I can speak for anyone else, but I want Saul and Kim to succeed. No more bittersweet tragedies, let's see them be safe and happy.
WAIT!! I didn't realize when watching the show but just now-- Kim is wearing the exact same earrings as the ones she tried to steal in the flashback! 17:56 you can see her triangle shaped earrings, they are the exact same ones that her mother handed to her in the car 🤯
This episode is really good. I know there are people who aren’t happy with the slow pacing of it, but from everything that’s being set up, they’re getting ready for some big stuff to happen and things are building up to these payoffs that will likely be seen as great when they arrive. Another thing that makes this episode excellent for me was it aired on my birthday, so it made that day even better than it already was. Obviously speculation, but I think that the point of the stuff at the vet was that Jimmy's eyes dilated from whatever they gave him. So I think they are going to slip this into Howard's drink to make him look drugged out, especially if he acts particularly caffeinated.
Most veterinarians would have access to tropicamide, and that has the same effect and duration as mentioned. It has to be applied as eye drops though, you can't just drink it - so unless they take some writing liberties I think their plan is different.
@@osmanyousif7849 they took pictures with the judge making it appear that Jimmy is bribing the judge. The pictures look like the ones the PI took. So these pictures will probably get back to Howard somehow and he will make crazy sounding accusations about Jimmy during the hearing, while looking drugged up by whatever they give him. Who knows where it goes from there but I suspect the drug might have a stronger effect on Howard than they expect and it might go South for them there. Or maybe not, who knows at this point?

Trips me out how many people miss the dilated pupils. Also, the effects are pike 2 red bulls on an empty stomach. Howard does not sleep. Might not handle the effects. I have a bad feeling. Red Bull gives you wings. The Salamancas have a thing with chopping legs. Tuco wanted to cut off the legs of the skater kids. Notice Jimmy pull the plug on the sink? Then tells Kim they are pulling the plug. Even the guy urinating, Jimmy says "stop, don't turn around, finish what you were doing". Jupiter is often referred to as a guardian angel. Kim has been wearing the necklace and earrings her Mom stole this entire time man. Kim says, what's more important than that? Then Jimmy calls.

Better Call Saul really made me love Mike more and more and get pissed with Walt more and more. Thanks to Walt now Kaylee and Stacey Ehrmantraut are not taken care of. Dang you chemistry teacher!
That's actually Mike's fault, too. Because he values loyalty more than anything else, he needed to make his guys "whole." The DEA caught his lawyer, Dan Wachsberger, with the money, and Saul protested that Mike should have went to him instead. Wachsberger was arrested and immediately turned against him by calling him and making him disclose his location under false pretenses. Walter even called Mike to warn him. Walter and Lydia wanted them dead from the start. Yes, this is because Walt killed Gus, but Gus only turned against Walt because of Jesse. Jesse was only part of the operation to prevent him from pressing charges against Hank. Hank only found the mobile lab because Jesse left a trail at a gas station. Walter and Jesse were only continuing business with Gus because Jesse cooked his own batch and tried to sell it to Gus. And Gus only went through the trouble of pursuing Walt because Gale was unable to recreate Walt's formula and he wanted to learn the secret. So, if you think about it, it's Gale's fault.
Mom had already been established as awful in the drunken driver flashback. Many people also thought that it was Rhea Seehorn playing Kim's mom in that 1st scene, but Beth Hoyt resembles Rhea. As far as "the countdown:" I think it's the countdown to Walt and Jesse. Brandon even noticed the 5 in 2 places in the last episode- 1 of which was the 3+2 dominos in the gym.
I don't think they'll go as far as having Jesse and Walt make cameos. Jesse at the most, but I'm thinking Skinny Pete and Combo are the most likely. We know Jesse only knew of Saul through Pete and never met him until BB 2x8. Plus we already got Walt's surprise cameo in Jesse's conclusion movie, El Camino.
@@MontgomeryWenis El Camino was the only "episode" of the Breaking Bad Universe I didn't like, and it was 100% due to the continuity error of Todd's weight gain of 100 lbs and subsequent weight loss of 100 lbs on the day of his death. I like Jesse Plemons a lot as an actor, but there had to be some CGI that could've helped resolve that issue. And both Walt and Jesse WILL be making cameos in BCS. They obviously won't be interacting with "Saul."

Kim being disappointed when her mom got the earrings remind me alot of when Jimmy falsified the documents and she said the you’re not me, I’m me line. It parallels in the end too when Jimmy tries to pull the plug on the scam and she says, it happens today. She does not like when people do things for her. I think that part was the beginning of those thoughts.
Who knows? Maybe Gus and Mike won't need to kill Lalo. Imagine the final episode has the German worker, who Lalo axes and plans to interrogate, somehow manages to come prepared, and before Lalo kills hims, he thinks ahead and had explosives in his shed, and blows the place up with him and Lalo inside. Knowing how Mike let the workers know to come prepared if they ever get into a meeting someone like Lalo, they would take his advice real good.
This may be a stretch but yesterday morning I woke up thinking about the ABQ Isotopes air freshener making another appearance in Kim's court scene. Since everything in this show seems to hold meaning I felt it must represent something. Isotopes can be simplistically described as "same, but different". The last time we saw the Isotopes air freshener it was a b&w Nebraska scene with Gene, who is Saul, but different. In this episode alone we have , as always, Saul, who is Jimmy, but different. We have the same Francesca from BB, but a different demeanor. Saul has the same office as BB, but it's different. The mediator is the same, but different because his arm is in a sling. Even over in Germany, Lalo and Casper are both different versions of themselves because of their hairstyles. I don't know if these connections were supposed to be made, but it's been on my mind for two days.
Did anyone else notice that the air freshener Kim showed in court was the same we see in the cab in the Gene timeline? I wonder what the purpose of that is.
I just realized that back in s5 ep 12 when they were first just talking about taking hamlin down Kim mentions that maybe someone took a bribe. Apparently thats what they're tryign to sell with their scam here. Its just cool that there is a follow up with this episode to what she previously said. Its was a throwaway line obviously but its pretty cool that she follows her initial plan more or less. Also makes me thing she mightve thoguth about this even long before she told Jimmy about it
Saul's eyes were dilated and the vet asked him if the other guy was the same body size relative to Jimmy, so I'm guessing they're going to somehow slip whatever it was to Howard to do the same and dilate his eyes so that he looks intoxicated in some way to someone important, possibly Clifford, or the judge himself.
Yeah it's clear they want to publicly humiliate him. So "high on cocaine" Howard accuses a judge of taking bribes. He gonna look crazy and paranoid just like Chuck
Also Saul said “It’s just a little dry where you put it on my skin” to the vet, so all someone has to do is make skin contact (handshake maybe?) with Howard to deliver the effect they want with the eyes.
I think found the number 3 in the form of dominos. When Jimmy and his secretary go outside for that phone call where the toilet is, behind jimmy can be seen 8 circles of which 3 are extending out. In this video its at 13:21
Not sure if anyone here’s pointed it out yet, but during the conversation between Howard and his wife, she says “duly noted” in response to him. Howard said the same thing to Kim back when she confronts him for snubbing Jimmy out of joining HHM. Really shows how Howard channeled his wife’s cold and curt attitude in order to come off as an asshole. He really doesn’t have a bad bone in his body, it’s gonna suck to see whatever happens to him, assuming it’s bad. I know we’ve all grown to respect Howard and empathize with him over the course of this show.
"doesn't have a bad bone in his body" uff... People so quickly forget the earlier seasons. Every character can be a good guy or a bad guy depending how u look at it. Everyone can be either your favorite character or the most hated one. To say he doesn't have a bad bone in his body is to completely miss the point of those shows. He always was a douchebag with a huge ego. just look at the namaste plate, it's like the show try tries to drill that in. His "namaste" persona is just as fake as Saul's personas. It's his coping mechanism, his snail oil. It's like the land owner said "one of those rich asshole layers who give money to charities so they can feel better about all the terrible things they did". Everything Howard did was selfishly motivated. Even him offering a job to Saul - that was charity, he didn't want Saul, he just wanted to stop feeling bad cause he blamed himself for Chucks death. Howard was always a douchebag, now u just seeing his point of view. The show tricked you into loving him, it's a reversed version of what happened with fans and Walter White
The tension in this episode is insane. All the little choices everyone is making, building up. Vince respects his audience's intelligence. You don't need wow moments all the time. I wish more filmmakers understood that

I had not considered this, the choice of Nebraska was certainly not random. Saul being placed there was established in BB and Kim being from Nebraska was set back in season 2 but you are right it’s too continuous a detail to have been coincidental

With brandon mentioning those three lights in a line above and behind jimmy and kim during their picnic, I was reminded of the three lit-up buttons on howard's espresso machine after the opening scene. Even on dice the number three is pedicted as three dots in a straight line.

They showed multiple coffees. Smth with coffee is coming. Howard doesnt drink coffee. I think the coffee drug from the vet might be too strong for howard cause he has no tolerance i think he might die from it. I know weird direction but they showed multiple shots of cofees.
I don't see them appearing in this show at all, since the Breaking Bad timeline is still over four years away at this point (the cheque the old guy cashes at the Kettlemans was dated May 22rd 2004).

Could be. But its mainly false evidence for Howard. I'm pretty sure Howard's pi is working for Jimmy. He wanted Howard to see that. Next is the pictures of Jimmy "buying off the judge" which Jimmy will apply the vet's drug to. When Howard gets those new photos from "his" pi, he'll think he has definitive evidence, and be getting dosed at the same time. Then accuse the judge in front of everyone while looking high as a fucking kite, then run to grab his "evidence" only to find the photos gone, and looking like a lunatic. But besides that, who knows what he actually did with the money after. It doesn't even need to actually be 20k. The important part is that's what the PI told Howard it was.

Also I don't know if u meant it's the same kind of bottle or that it's "literally the same exact bottle since it was the last one they had in that store". I really love Giancarlo Esposito's direction on this episode. Something about it feels a lot more cinematic than a lot of other episodes in the series, hope to see him direct more stuff like this in the future.
Something I noticed at the end of the episode, on ‘D day’ morning it’s cloudy and gloomy rather than bright and Sunny which of course is when the plan goes sideways

I would say it was more like Jesse, who had millions of dollars, and Hank, who would tear apart his own family, choosing to seek satisfaction from Walt, even though he's been retired from the business and was going to die. Not justice, not the right thing, but revenge. Hank and Jesse paid the price for their obsession, but I hope Kim won't have a similar fate, not just because the writers would be repeating themselves, but because that's not what anyone wants or needs to see. I don't know if I can speak for anyone else, but I want Saul and Kim to succeed. No more bittersweet tragedies, let's see them be safe and happy.
WAIT!! I didn't realize when watching the show but just now-- Kim is wearing the exact same earrings as the ones she tried to steal in the flashback! 17:56 you can see her triangle shaped earrings, they are the exact same ones that her mother handed to her in the car 🤯
This episode is really good. I know there are people who aren’t happy with the slow pacing of it, but from everything that’s being set up, they’re getting ready for some big stuff to happen and things are building up to these payoffs that will likely be seen as great when they arrive. Another thing that makes this episode excellent for me was it aired on my birthday, so it made that day even better than it already was. I'm a bit late, but we saw the number 3 during the Vet scene, at 5:22 in this video. We also got it at 16:46 but it is just the number.

Obviously speculation, but I think that the point of the stuff at the vet was that Jimmy's eyes dilated from whatever they gave him. So I think they are going to slip this into Howard's drink to make him look drugged out, especially if he acts particularly caffeinated.
Most veterinarians would have access to tropicamide, and that has the same effect and duration as mentioned. It has to be applied as eye drops though, you can't just drink it - so unless they take some writing liberties I think their plan is different.
On the plan board at their apartment they had a sticky note saying “Red Bull?”, so I think they’ll spike Howard’s drink with the drug

@@osmanyousif7849 they took pictures with the judge making it appear that Jimmy is bribing the judge. The pictures look like the ones the PI took. So these pictures will probably get back to Howard somehow and he will make crazy sounding accusations about Jimmy during the hearing, while looking drugged up by whatever they give him. Who knows where it goes from there but I suspect the drug might have a stronger effect on Howard than they expect and it might go South for them there. Or maybe not, who knows at this point?
I love Howard as a character, he’s obviously still “douchey” but so likeable. I really want him to get out of this on top.

Then tells Kim they are pulling the plug. Even the guy urinating, Jimmy says "stop, don't turn around, finish what you were doing". Jupiter is often referred to as a guardian angel. Kim has been wearing the necklace and earrings her Mom stole this entire time man. Kim says, what's more important than that? Then Jimmy calls.

That's actually Mike's fault, too. Because he values loyalty more than anything else, he needed to make his guys "whole." The DEA caught his lawyer, Dan Wachsberger, with the money, and Saul protested that Mike should have went to him instead. Wachsberger was arrested and immediately turned against him by calling him and making him disclose his location under false pretenses. Walter even called Mike to warn him.
Walter and Lydia wanted them dead from the start. Yes, this is because Walt killed Gus, but Gus only turned against Walt because of Jesse. Jesse was only part of the operation to prevent him from pressing charges against Hank. Hank only found the mobile lab because Jesse left a trail at a gas station. Walter and Jesse were only continuing business with Gus because Jesse cooked his own batch and tried to sell it to Gus. And Gus only went through the trouble of pursuing Walt because Gale was unable to recreate Walt's formula and he wanted to learn the secret. So, if you think about it, it's Gale's fault.
Mom had already been established as awful in the drunken driver flashback. Many people also thought that it was Rhea Seehorn playing Kim's mom in that 1st scene, but Beth Hoyt resembles Rhea. As far as "the countdown:" I think it's the countdown to Walt and Jesse. Brandon even noticed the 5 in 2 places in the last episode- 1 of which was the 3+2 dominos in the gym.
I don't think they'll go as far as having Jesse and Walt make cameos. Jesse at the most, but I'm thinking Skinny Pete and Combo are the most likely. We know Jesse only knew of Saul through Pete and never met him until BB 2x8. Plus we already got Walt's surprise cameo in Jesse's conclusion movie, El Camino.
@@MontgomeryWenis El Camino was the only "episode" of the Breaking Bad Universe I didn't like, and it was 100% due to the continuity error of Todd's weight gain of 100 lbs and subsequent weight loss of 100 lbs on the day of his death. I like Jesse Plemons a lot as an actor, but there had to be some CGI that could've helped resolve that issue. And both Walt and Jesse WILL be making cameos in BCS. They obviously won't be interacting with "Saul."

Kim being disappointed when her mom got the earrings remind me alot of when Jimmy falsified the documents and she said the you’re not me, I’m me line. It parallels in the end too when Jimmy tries to pull the plug on the scam and she says, it happens today. She does not like when people do things for her. I think that part was the beginning of those thoughts.

Exited to see where they ho with lalo, every scene with him is so good
Who knows? Maybe Gus and Mike won't need to kill Lalo. Imagine the final episode has the German worker, who Lalo axes and plans to interrogate, somehow manages to come prepared, and before Lalo kills hims, he thinks ahead and had explosives in his shed, and blows the place up with him and Lalo inside. Knowing how Mike let the workers know to come prepared if they ever get into a meeting someone like Lalo, they would take his advice real good.
This may be a stretch but yesterday morning I woke up thinking about the ABQ Isotopes air freshener making another appearance in Kim's court scene. Since everything in this show seems to hold meaning I felt it must represent something. Isotopes can be simplistically described as "same, but different". The last time we saw the Isotopes air freshener it was a b&w Nebraska scene with Gene, who is Saul, but different. In this episode alone we have , as always, Saul, who is Jimmy, but different. We have the same Francesca from BB, but a different demeanor. Saul has the same office as BB, but it's different. The mediator is the same, but different because his arm is in a sling. Even over in Germany, Lalo and Casper are both different versions of themselves because of their hairstyles. I don't know if these connections were supposed to be made, but it's been on my mind for two days.
I love when a mature show lets its actors get experience in directing.
Did anyone else notice that the air freshener Kim showed in court was the same we see in the cab in the Gene timeline? I wonder what the purpose of that is.
I just realized that back in s5 ep 12 when they were first just talking about taking hamlin down Kim mentions that maybe someone took a bribe. Apparently thats what they're tryign to sell with their scam here. Its just cool that there is a follow up with this episode to what she previously said. Its was a throwaway line obviously but its pretty cool that she follows her initial plan more or less. Also makes me thing she mightve thoguth about this even long before she told Jimmy about it
Saul's eyes were dilated and the vet asked him if the other guy was the same body size relative to Jimmy, so I'm guessing they're going to somehow slip whatever it was to Howard to do the same and dilate his eyes so that he looks intoxicated in some way to someone important, possibly Clifford, or the judge himself.
Yeah it's clear they want to publicly humiliate him. So "high on cocaine" Howard accuses a judge of taking bribes. He gonna look crazy and paranoid just like Chuck
Also Saul said “It’s just a little dry where you put it on my skin” to the vet, so all someone has to do is make skin contact (handshake maybe?) with Howard to deliver the effect they want with the eyes.
Its topical. Jimmy is going to apply it to the fake judge photos and have Howard think he's seeing evidence and getting dosed at the same time.

Not sure if anyone here’s pointed it out yet, but during the conversation between Howard and his wife, she says “duly noted” in response to him. Howard said the same thing to Kim back when she confronts him for snubbing Jimmy out of joining HHM. Really shows how Howard channeled his wife’s cold and curt attitude in order to come off as an asshole. He really doesn’t have a bad bone in his body, it’s gonna suck to see whatever happens to him, assuming it’s bad. I know we’ve all grown to respect Howard and empathize with him over the course of this show.

Every character can be a good guy or a bad guy depending how u look at it. Everyone can be either your favorite character or the most hated one.

He always was a douchebag with a huge ego. just look at the namaste plate, it's like the show try tries to drill that in. His "namaste" persona is just as fake as Saul's personas.
It's his coping mechanism, his snail oil.
It's like the land owner said "one of those rich asshole layers who give money to charities so they can feel better about all the terrible things they did". Everything Howard did was selfishly motivated. Even him offering a job to Saul - that was charity, he didn't want Saul, he just wanted to stop feeling bad cause he blamed himself for Chucks death.
Howard was always a douchebag, now u just seeing his point of view. The show tricked you into loving him, it's a reversed version of what happened with fans and Walter White

I had not considered this, the choice of Nebraska was certainly not random. Saul being placed there was established in BB and Kim being from Nebraska was set back in season 2 but you are right it’s too continuous a detail to have been coincidental

Could be. But its mainly false evidence for Howard. I'm pretty sure Howard's pi is working for Jimmy. He wanted Howard to see that. Next is the pictures of Jimmy "buying off the judge" which Jimmy will apply the vet's drug to. When Howard gets those new photos from "his" pi, he'll think he has definitive evidence, and be getting dosed at the same time. Then accuse the judge in front of everyone while looking high as a fucking kite, then run to grab his "evidence" only to find the photos gone, and looking like a lunatic. But besides that, who knows what he actually did with the money after. It doesn't even need to actually be 20k. The important part is that's what the PI told Howard it was.
