That Keeley 4 knob is a great compressor and pairs well with the El capistan. I never really heard the expander circuit they claim is in that compressor but it worked well regardless. I eventually switched to the Greer lamplighter which is an optical compressor which has a great feel.
That's high praise! I've listened to them for years. Check out some of my Ambient Moments. Those are purely ambient performances without the demoing aspect.
if you let the loop degrade for 5 minutes then add a clean one I assume the clean layer then starts slowly degrading but the previous layers continue on their deconstructive way. correct?
Depends on what I'm using it for but usually if I'm just using it as a delay, its after modulation and before reverb. If I'm using it as a looper, it's last in the chain.
The loop sounds first as it would at ground control right before liftoff...at 5 minutes, as you reach the moon......and then by the 20 minute mark it's the fragmented, distant and near-final sounds of a transmission being hear by Voyager 2 as it approaches the edge of our solar system...the last sounds of any humans before entering interstellar space....
After 20 minutes looks like a call from another planet, still beautiful and sounds very analogue to my ears. Thanks for the experience!
Thanks:) I knew someone else would be curious about what happens if you let it keep going!

Sounds awesome. I've been curious about the Pulp "n" Peel as well. I've been told it's quieter than the Keely 4 knob.
the last half of this was like an explosions in the sky record 😍

Yeah, that's right.

I hadn’t heard it that way until now. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to hear it another way again✨Thanks for listening and sharing your thoughts!
What patch cables are those? Need something that thin
Those are EBS. They are a total space saver.
