  • In this video our team will go into great detail on the history of Ravine Flyer I.
We will also for the first time be showing off the layout to the public eyes.
A POV will also release later today.

I was always under the impression that Peninsula Drive existed before the coaster, and that it was built over it as a very ambitious (for the 1920s) gimmick. The real story makes a lot more sense. Great video!

My whole life I was told the story the same as you told it, with the exception that the 2nd Ravine Flyer was basically the same layout. That part is exciting to know.
I love the Ravine Flyer and Waldameer. I would ride it all day if I could. I'm 47this year. I waited my whole life for this ride to become real and not just a story and I was not disappointed.

Mint video, I love Waldameer. They just retired the Spider this year

Thanks so much for putting this effort in and sharing it for all to see! My first video was a RF2 review as it is a huge sentimental favorite for me. For years I have tried digging online to find any clue at all besides the common pictures to give a rough idea of the layout. About to go check out this pov and I'm pumped!

Sick video! So many coasters of that era have fascinating stories, and this one is towards the top.

Also notable the ravine flyer III was around before the ravine flyer II

I’ve always been confused by that, did it open as Ravine Flyer 3? Or did it have a different name before that?

@@Derangedlefty Opened as RF3 and I don’t know why. Maybe the park knew what was coming that long in advance.

RF2 was in the planning stages when RF3 was opened. The park was working towards trying to find a manufacturer. There's actually some proposals from Dinn and CCI for RF2, but of course GG was what they went with.

This is all notable! This will all hopefully be addressed in Requiem.

Just noticing now, in the aerial photo, you can see a coaster right where Comet is today, but this photo is pre 1924.
This was probably Dip the Dips, prob a clone of the still operating Leap the Dips not to far away in Altona PA.

It's a shame that the ride closed because of low maintenance costs grate peace of rollercoaster history!

I’d like to see what would happen if the original was still there

But tell me why it kinda look like a bigger version of the comet 💀. What if they re built the first one but smaller and called it comet 🤷‍♀️

Comet is more closer to the Cyclone layouts of yesteryear. Ravine Flyer I was a perfect out and back with no crossovers.
