Also, to add, this is just something that I have unfortunately come across as a child. My mother is a working woman(9-5) job with the same salary as that of my father. But teaching me, taking care, making food for the family and children, emotionally and mentally supporting me etc has always been done by her. No support whatsoever from father other than dropping to school in the morning. In fact, he has been more of a trouble than help, abusive, ignorant and negligent. So when the weight of parenting completely falls on one parent and the other parent is just there for the sake of it, it's horrible. Children who have lived such a life for 20/22 years no longer want to continue such a toxic cycle and hence many chose to not have kids at all.

The real reason why urban women are choosing to have 1 child is the abysmal absence of early childcare support infrastructure. Raising a baby is an isolating and exhausting experience, the dis-proportionate burden for which falls upon the mother regardless of her employment status. Nuclear families. Lack of organized/qualified domestic help. Very few quality day-cares. To add fuel to the fire, we look upon mothers as "non working women" if they step off corporate work. Any wonder that women don't want to do this a second time ? Unfortunately, this reason wont come up in research studies and we will keep looking at solutions in the wrong places. We need to invest in early childcare infra + recognize the true value of raising kids. @Mohak I think the choice of this video sponsor is in poor taste for your otherwise superb series.
A very big reason. Most women are expected to take care of the house, sometimes the in laws, go through pregnancy(which takes such a toll physically and emotionally) , take care of the kid and work and earn. I have a commerce background so I know what are basic economic terms and concepts and I also know If Everyone started having one child then it can be problematic but the thing is having kids is not only about being financially capable but being mentally prepared is important too. You can't raise two children only by giving birth and arranging sufficient money. You have to take care of their health, education, career etc. There are a lot of responsibilities involved and to take those you have to be mentally prepared and strong. If a person is not mentally prepared for taking the responsibilities of more than one child then he would only choose to have one kid so, you can't expect or force him to have two children. Like you said that "if you don't have any kids then who is going to take care of you in your old age?" Does having kids grantees that your kid is not going to leave you ?? I see a lot of parents, especially from educated communities where their kids have sidelined them even though their parents had spent their whole life in raising them.

Being third child in barely middle class family I know the stress on my parents !! Although I don't see Strain on econmy in 2050 because most of the labour work will be managed by AI and robots 💯It's too early to say that India will face aging problem like china in my opinion‼️
In future automation will take place because of it alot of jobs will be lost so having less population will be a good thing
@@yuzie6270 automation won't take all jobs .
As economy grows Job demands grow India will have high job demand in future only advantage india has since china will lose their manufacturing Dominance
Automation will barely affect India in this century
People don't have effective 4G let alone Robots who need 6G internet every second
Who tf is spreading this misinfo about automation, lol. India already would be under a civil war by then. Stop living in a utopia. USA is going to collapse soon, so this agenda propogated by them about automation is utter false, lol
@@sushilsharma4202 True
India would be under a Civil War by then but that's just one side of the coin
If someone manages to stop it then India might have experienced the Boost in Economic growth like in China
And here's me who doesn't even want to marry. No marriage, no pressure for having kids. No pain in life.
Are you from the north east ?
Man- One child
Woman - 2 child

I was talking to my mother about this topic and she said:
"Ab jo bado ne raita failaya hai wo bachche samet rahe hai"
😅😂
The best solution is making the education system less costly and we should make the education stress less
Indian education system NEEDS a change right now
Lol single child? i dont even wanna married, stay single and life happily apart from that family chaos (i can say this statement so easily cuz i do have one brother just 1.5 years younger than me having a same mind set, so we can life together and explore this world eventually 😄)
Mtlb poori life Anime and Chill?😳🤝
Yeah I use to say this when I was 13.

For real tho , below poverty line people shouldn’t be allowed more than one kid Coz they can’t feed themselves why bring in another child and have him starve and suffer.
That sounds harsh but necessary .
That's upto them bruhh... Govt should only educate shouldn't enforce this... It's their private life, govt Shouldn't interfere
@@saumyasinha8447 yeah it's draconian
@@bhuvaneshs.k638 What about those poor children who are suffering in poverty because of their selfish parents who brought them in this world without their consent?
@@Abaddon-u1i no parent want bring their kids into a bad world. Govt can always guide and educate advantages of having less kids and can create some incentives. Ultimately it's none of Govt's business to interfere in their personal life
People like Aman Dhattarwal and Physics Wallah on YT are doing great work to make quality education accessible to all. Many more people should emerge like them and hopefully one day I'll be able to contribute to them too.
Absolutely correct... Mindflayer.... I truly agree with what you said... 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻💯💯💯
Even in Govt. Schools
Teachers are being made to learn Different skills like my mother literally a year before didn't knew how to turn on a Laptop
But due to online classes she started learning and now She Makes Video that goes onto Govt. Platform Diksha
But still The Children are not payinguch attention not because Of lack of Smartphone (Just before Lockdown almost 94% Students Of my Mothers Block Registered their WhatsApp Numbers and were added to Groups but there is lac of Intrest of students)
But only rich can watch those online lectures.. most of rural india doesn't have access to gadgets and enough data to watch 10 hr long lectures...also they do not provide any certificate so anyways people will have to do a course for the sake of certificate...

@@thetrickster9885 how am i spreading disgust? .. also i wont call you "poor" as your family is capable of sending you to schools which is most probably private school...that's middle class... i am talking about those who have no source of income and are homeless..
Making population law for entire country is a bit tricky, every state have different population density varying on a large scale!
Also minorities might become vulnerable
@Ani linguistic, religious minorities might get extinct if they're forced to have one child
@Jio Boy no two child policy is better or population will grow
Having babies is difficult. I have a son and he made our life hell. My expenses have tripled since his birth.
Please don't blame your kid. The inflation i's not his fault.
@@arunshankars8398 to be honest i blame me and my wife. We had no family planning but now we are done. Not having anymore babies.

I hope you do not abuse your son.
I’m a proud single child
I don't know why but I find single childs dont have social skills, they are too soft and don't have a thick skin. No offence but I just can't stand them.
Yup you have to pay for 2 parents healthcare.
I have one brother so it will be divided

I have a amazing life having everything by my parents wouldn't have mind a bro or sis but completely happy with being a single child
Anyone more than 4 children disgusts me
@aditya singh yup even me

To all the people commenting here supporting being a single child is a privilege, I have a question. "How do you know without even having the experience of having a sibling?".
