    Good job.nice that Lunt was very helpful (Meade service would never do this) nice too that the 40 has the etalon and tilt wheel at the front!

      Meade replaced my personal solar telescope that I bought used, free of charge… from a guy who evidently bought it from them in 2016.
      Sooooo don’t be so quick to dismiss Meade customer service, it’s great.

    The Lunt 40 s a complete Lemon. Defective focuser, defective focuser compression ring, change in bg glass compared to the Lunt 35 making the 40 view poor, and now we get defective etalon adjuster wheel. I have a Lunt 40 and am sorry I bought it, its so bad.

      Chuck I have to disagree with your assessment of the 40. I am extremely happy with mine.

      @@starastronomer Sadly the 40 is an inferior optical setup at f/10, whereas the Lunt 35 is f/11.2. The Lunt 35 performs better. I personally find better image detail in the Lunt 35 as compared to what I see in my 40, even with the 5mm aperture difference.

    I just came across this video. i had the same issue with my lunt 40. I was going to use loctite to secure the threaded pin.

    • @starastronomer
      @starastronomer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @AD-on4uf Interesting, so this is more than just my scope and could be an issue. Be careful that the Loctite doesn't outgas and affect the lens and coatings. I'd check with Lunt before you do that. Clear skies!

    Cool, thank you! Question the ERF filter I would think is on the front of the Etalon? Does that front black ring twist off? I want to remove the ERF filter for a Double Stack and don't need the ERF. Thank you for this issue...

    Good morning my friend, so great to see your Mach2, with the AP Stowaway.
    I'm still there with thoughts that maybe I should have bought the Mach2 instead of the 1100.
    Now compared with parts of construction or engineering not at the level of quality. Interesting what you do, taking the time to explain is to state your opinion. It would be enough if they are built with a little more criterion, although maybe the cost would be a little more, however in the end you have something perfect.
    Wow, you make a great job. Bravo!
    Three days ago, something happened to me with the new AP1100, that both in the assembly they didn't pay attention, but I think also in the design, what happened to me, I strongly think, that the AP company, had to think about it. Anyway, I'll write you on Messenger, is I'll send you a couple of pictures so you'll understand me better. Interesting your videos. I watch your videos, I was wondering, if it would be possible, Super, I see just you integrated the possibility to ready the subtitles my two language Germany or Italian thank you. Greetings from Switzerland.. Have one nice day. Ciao (*_*)

      Hello Pascal, is your 180 mm the Sky-Watcher Maksutov? If so is the ZWO mount the AM5? How do you find using the 180 Mak on the AM5? Any balance issues? I have my AM5 mount to the Eagle Pier our Star Astronomer friend is using here shown in the background. It's extremely stable when compared to the ZWO carbon fiber tripod!

      @ignatprokhoropchyuck4652 I would call or email Lunt to get one from them. Or, you could get the proper size of that O-ring from Lunt and buy one locally. Is the scope still in warranty? Then it would be free from Lunt.
