      Hi Pan. Here is a question for you. When you wipe the sponge on the vehicle and then rinse it off not all particulates are heavy enough to sink to the bottom. Things like oil and other liquid contaminant’s even salt dilute into the solution. So essentially every time you put the sponge back into the bucket you put some of that back onto the vehicle. What am I missing here?

    Big fan of N914. As a Texas resident, it's my favorite weekly wash method in the summer as I don't even have to back my truck out of the garage. Does a nice job and I don't get cooked in the relentless sun.
    I do the multiple plush microfiber towel method. No chance of having something stick to a sponge/mitt and grinding it into the clearcoat.

    • @mygt8a4re
      @mygt8a4re ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Glad to see you brought up the multiple plush microfibers in your rinsless wash bucket as opposed to the sponge. I do this as well. No rubbing against the grit guard to clean and risk debris remaining in the sponge, use the microfiber for a panel or two, and move to a new towel. I find this the best method but to reach their own. I know I'll get flamed for this but yes, I do use my foam canon as a preclean and then pressure rinse that before I move to the no rinse wash. Just my method. I'm kinda ocd. Happy rinsless washes!

    I love the flexibility that a rinseless wash provides. I normally use a 2 bucket wash method, but I add an ounce of rinseless to both my wash and rinse bucket to help soften the water, increase the lubrication and release dirt from my wash mitts. I've used them as a quick detailer between washes for bird droppings and bugs, an interior cleaner, a clay and wet-sanding lubricant, a pre-treatment, to increase the effectiveness of a steamer, and even clean my garage floor with a microfiber mop. I keep a 4 oz bottle along with some microfiber towels in my car all the time. I have 4 rinseless washes that I keep and use all the time including McKee's 37 N-914, ONR v5, P&S Absolute, and DIY Detail Rinseless. They are all fantastic and each has their own strengths.

    I'm still using ONR#4 because I sat on it for awhile until I realized how awesome rinseless washes were. I maintain my daily driver throughout the week and can have it done in about 15 minutes! I go back and forth between the Ultra Black Sponge or Edgeless 350s depending on if I want to keep my bucket free of debris or if I don't want to worry about laundry. Honestly though, I love my Worx Hyrdroshot for knocking down high soils before contacting the paint with the wash media.

      Agreed! Those crevices are not capturing as much dirt, dust and fine grit particles as one expects. That is clearly seen by the *dark, dirty sponge surface on multiple wipes.* Open the cracks, and you see that almost no dirt is inside. Instead, the sponge is simply smearing those fine dirt and dust particles across the body panels with each successive wipe, which potentially causes scratches, un. When I use a water-less wash product, I prefer to use Larry Koscilla's method (AMMO NYC) with multiple microfiber towels.

    Great video Pan! You and Nick tout the simplicity of mix for the sprayer by dunking it in the 5 gallon bucket of solution already mixed. Nick does this, and then added more N-914 to the sprayer. Obviously, this results in a different solution than the bucket. No mention was made about what the dilution ratio was that he was trying to achieve for the sprayer.

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  ปีที่แล้ว

      In this video, there seems to have been a little over 4 gallons of water in the bucket. As you can tell, the 5 gallon bucket is almost full. Nick mentioned that you need 4 capfuls of N-914 to equal 1 oz of product. And he only added 4 capfuls in the bucket, meaning he only added 1 oz of product in the bucket.
      And you need 2 oz of product for 4 gallons of water. So the 4 capfuls he added in the bucket weren't enough to reach the 1:256 dilution, hence why he likely added a bit more inside the pump sprayer afterwards. That's my understanding. Perhaps Nick can clarify if he reads your post.

    Conversely to the benefits of using rinseless instead of the 2 bucket method, I actually like to use N-914 in my rinse bucket to help break up the dirt on my microfiber wash mitt. At 9:04 the video is stitched, giving the impression that the sponge wasn't clean after the first attempt.
    A separate point: the sponge has cuts to collect and trap the dirt, but that doesn't work if you use all sides (4 - 6) of the sponge, because the cuts are only on two sides.

      Rinseless washes are a great alternative wash method for those who live in areas with heavy water restrictions/bans, or are apartment/condo dwellers that have limited or no access to water. But if the vehicle is super dirty, use common sense, you should pre-rinse it first before doing the rinseless wash. A rinseless wash doesn't mean you never rinse, it just means no rinsing is needed at the end of the wash process.

    This is another one of your great presentations that have motivated me to switch to rinseless washing with the McKees N914. The video raises 2 questions. Why did Nick add another “dash“ of N914 to the sprayer after filling it from the bucket? Also, he uses all four sides of the sponge when washing the car. With there being no laser cuts around the perimeter, does that not defeat, the purpose of the sponge’s design?

    Here's a test you could do or maybe make a video on ( would love the latter ) on whether rinseless is safe. Polish a paintwork preferably black and then get before shots, get it dirty and rinseless wash it. Finally show the after shots and then conclusions. You could add steps to the process showing how that affects the paint, like pre-treat, giving a 50-50. Would love to see you make a video on this.❤

    I just cannot bring myself to try a rinseless wash on my car. I have a dark blue color and it shows every whisper on the paint. I’m terrified that it will further scratch the paint without a final rinse process. I’ll keep watching…maybe some day. :)
    After watching the complete video and reading a lot of the positive comments around rinseless washing…This might be a solution for my maintenance washes and to avoid the killer sunlight and heat of the southern USA. Thanks again Pan.

      McKees uses soap surfactants to clean so you don't want it in the hottest parts of the world like the southern US. You would want something like ONR which allows for you to easily wipe off water spots as they're all spots from the polymer residue.

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would never recommend washing a car in direct sunlight or high heat. Always wash in the shade or a garage, on cool surfaces. Ideally you want to be as close to 68-70F as possible.
      Avoid washing at noon when the sun is at its brightest and hottest. Either very early in the morning or as late as possible in the afternoon.
      And if you want zero water spots, use demineralized, deionized, distilled or reverse osmosis water.

      Never purchase any extra that the dealerships try to sell you. They sell cheap garbage for high profits. Tell them to just wash the car, and do nothing to the paint. Either you do the detailing yourself, or bring it to a professional detailer for a true detailing.
      A new car is never new until it's properly detailed.
      - at the factory, the paint defects are often corrected quickly by rotary polishing which can leave marks and holograms, so polishing corrects those, before you lock that in long term with a ceramic coating for example.
      - vehicles are then transported by truck, train and boat so they are exposed to the elements, industrial fallout, brake dust, rail dust, etc
      - vehicles are often left at boat docks (when transported by boat) or in exterior parking lots for weeks or months, again being exposed to the elements
      - at the dealership, the vehicles are almost always poorly prepped using the same dirty water that was used for all the cars on a given day, and poor washing and drying methods leading to swirls and scratches
      - at the dealership, a layer of cheap wax or paint sealant is usually applied to attempt to make the paint glossy prior to delivery. It's crucial to remove any previous protection before you apply a ceramic coating, as coatings need to bond directly to a virgin clear coat.
      If you only plan on applying a regular carnauba wax or paint sealant though, you could decide to skip machine polishing, as those protectants can be applied over existing protection and it's not as crucial to prep the paint as well.
      I explain all of this in this popular video: th-cam.com/video/QgoyrC-5CMc/w-d-xo.html
      So you can better visualize the new car prep process, here are the steps I perform on a brand new car from two of my customers:

    Hey Pan I have 4 gallons of the Mckees mixed up in a bucket with a lid. I washed my front end of car to get bugs off but wasn’t that bad. The water looks good still. How long can I keep this in the bucket and it’s still good to go? Or not worth it?

    People don’t understand the updated technology of the sponge and the chemical. Rinseless washes are perfectly fine and cause no damage when used with common sense.

    Is it normal to feel grabby when washing at the bottom part of the car as it is more dirty?... I use p&s rinseless and I feel it doesn't really encapsulate the dirt at the bottom part and I still feel grabby even after I have pre rinsed it... It's definitely not as slick at soap and I had very high expectations on rinseless wash

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  ปีที่แล้ว

      If the vehicle is super dirty, you would pre-rinse with a pressure washer first. Common sense is needed with a rinseless wash as there are limitations. Rinseless wash doesn't mean you never rinse, it just means you don't need to rinse at the end of the wash process.

    Hi Pan, was wondering if my car is covered in road salt during Canadian winter months, is it still safe to rinseless wash method, or it's better to go traditional way? Like a coin car wash. Thanks!

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  ปีที่แล้ว

      I personally prefer the traditional wash method at home, using buckets and microfiber wash mitts (that's what you see me do 99% of the time on my channel).
      If you have access to water, use the traditional wash method. If you want to use the rinseless wash method in winter, at least pre-rinse the vehicle first to remove most of the dirt and winter muck. Don't apply a rinseless wash directly to super dirty paint.

    I've recently bought a car that has a Diamondbrite Ceramic coating; and this Summer, due to a hosepipe ban, (in England, would you believe!!) I used a rinseless wash for the first time - with great results. However I've read on-line that you should not use a rinseless wash on a ceramic coated car. But in one of your videos you use a rinseless wash on your girlfriend's ceramic coated car. So is it safe? Your advice and expertise would be most welcome.

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s absolutely fine to use a rinseless wash on a coated vehicle. A rinseless wash is just an alternative method of washing your car.
      Obviously you have to use common sense. If the car has a layer of thick mud or dirt, you would pre-rinse before doing a rinseless wash.
      I still prefer the traditional wash method, but for someone who doesn’t have access to a pressure washer or garden hose, a rinseless wash is the next best option.

    Been going through lots of rinse less wash videos. Finding out what are the best products available and studying the best techniques to execute a rinse less wash....However all the ways that I see does have a draw back, for me at least. You see I do my car cleaning in my garage most of the time if not all the time. A rinse less wash will leave water stains on my garage floor tile which really bugs me. I bothers me seeing dry water stains on the floor and it typically leave an out line of the car from the drips....and if you clean the wheels I am sure you will get water stains around the tires as well. This is why I don't really do rinse less wash any more...I might as well pull out all the gears (water hose and compressor etc). At the end of it I will spray the floor to give it a good rinse. Sure more work but I have a clean car and a clean garage floor too. Just sharing my opinion. But I do get it rinse less wash makes sense for some conditions.

    • @PanTheOrganizer

      That wouldn't be recommended, as it's likely too dirty. Common sense is needed when using the rinseless wash method. If the car is super dirty, you'd have to pre-rinse first. Rinseless wash doesn't mean you never rinse, it just means you don't have to rinse at the end of the wash process.
