I have always mentioned that Manika Batra relied too much on the anti-spin long pips return blocks to try to confuse her opponents. It works if her opponents haven't got used to the long pips anti-spin. However, once her opponents are capable of handling her long pips blocks, she will lose her competitive advantages. She just cannot rely on her opponents to make mistakes due to her anti-spin long pips returns.She must develop her forehand and backhand attacks to surprise her opponents.
you are correct. But if she develops her forehand/backhand attack well, she might as well ditch the long pip and switch to regular rubber. The whole point of using long pip is to confuse opponent and win and once other side gets used to it, long pip is over. That's why not many players are using long pips now.

You have to make your paddle win your game. I think the inverted rubber is best against all players.

Manika seemed out of form in this match, lately she played a lot better.
Batra style works against intermediate pro player but the top player of china, japan and south korea, eats pimps player for breakfast, its too easy for them
Manika Batra has been losing consistently in all tournaments. Time for Sreeja Akula to take India forward. Batra definitely needs to go to domestic circuit, correct her technique/game and prove herself for place in Indian team.

Manika's playing is too predictable and easy for her opponents. At world level, long pips dont cause trouble for World class players.
