Workshop Description: I've lost count of the number of times I have heard physicians say how uncomfortable they are at discussing oral health related topics with their patients. It's a brief chapter in one medical class, it was one question on one exam and rarely is discussed again in medical school. Yet, physicians tell me how frequently patients come in with dental pain or go to the ED with facial cellulitis only to receive yet again another antibiotic. Physicians are seeing children with overt dental decay at a very young age and are hearing reports of kid's inattentiveness in school due to tooth pain.
