Wow! My favourite patisserie and it looks amazing! I love the way that you add the crushed pieces of surplus pastry to the mille - feuille, even more layers to bite into! Excellent version of the original recipe, well done!
Hello Akis, if u want to get an even more better mille feuille, here is a couple tips: when u infuse the vanilla in the milk, cover the pot with plastic film. If it smells vanilla in the whole kitchen, it's not good. The smell is supposed to stay in the pot to infuse de milk. For the puff pastry, u can caramelize the pastry by adding a little bit of sugar when you cook it and put something flat on the pastry when it's cooking as u can have crispy thin equal layers. The whole thing is gonna look more delicate ;)
hmmmm problem is i love the whole house smelling of vanilla! and the whole neighbourhood as well if i could have my way :-) You are right about the sugar and putting weight on the pastry.. I do that in the restaurant...
I’ve made this Milfe recipe & it’s AMAZING!!!! Thank you Aki from Australia & thank you for sharing this tasty recipe. For me it’s the best to serve at Xmas time, I did make it last year for a large gathering and it was the favourite sweet of the day 😊. Ευχαριστώ πολύ !
I'm in love with mille-feuille; actually, many sweet dishes, nonetheless mille-feuille is special because it was the first sweet dish without chocolate that I could say I'd have over any sweet dish with chocolate.
Akis my YiYa Tessea made a meat stuffing that had ground beef and lamb, pine nuts, chest nuts, apples, kaseri cheese and spices. do u know what it is called in Greek? Or have u had this before? If not i would be willing to email u the exact recipe. what part of Greece do your people come from? Thanks again for all the great recipes!
lol ... he's a cray boy-chef! hahaha, full of enthusiasm to do creative teen fun stuff with his foods, and totally enjoys doing it too (this is deh-li-si-euss-niss!) 😄
P.S. the Davatis side of my family is from Northern Greece and maybe this stuffing is more of an influenced recipe and not really Greek. maybe u could help Akis???

Debate of the century: eating mille feuille while it's crunchy or when it softens up a bit?
