    Thank you, I just changed one on our 2018 armada, mounting is just a touch different but same 4 bolts and couldn’t of been easier, thx for the video it gave me confidence to do it myself and we saved prob $700, and only took 20 min to do.

    Having the sagging problem in my 2015 QX80. I found the air shocks for $465 total and getting the back leveling sensor Fri for $200. I plan to get the compressor in a few weeks. Start sagging about 3 weeks ago. This is the only helpful video online. Thank you very much and GOD BLESS YOU.

      @nocanndo16 How did your installation go? My wife has the same 2015 QX80. Sags in the back. I replaced the air compressor and both sensors and it's still not working. The compressor kicks on but no movement, the frame is about an inch from the top of the tire.

    Jordan... STRONG WORK! Of all of the how to videos for this air suspension system, you provided the only guidance on the air filter piece that embeds into the frame.
    I tried to take it out, but ended up pushing it in, because I couldn't get the locking clips depressed for a smooth removal. I figure it'll bounce itself out of the end.
    The compressor was a wicked easy fix. It took me longer to ensure a safe jack support placement and fumbling around with socket sizes, then it did to effect the switcheroo. With my Arnott air shocks, new axel, new lower control arms, et al, I am stoked to hitch up and pull my camping trailer.
    Thank you for your simple video; I'll be posting it to the forum momentarily.

      There is visual of the rear susp. NOT riding at the same height as an UNloaded...heavy weight causes some rear "sag", the riding height is somewhat lower.

    One additional thing that a person should do when installing a replacement pump. If you look at the supply hose, which plugs into the frame, it has a screen filter on that white fitting that pushes into the frame. While this filter is supposed to keep dust and other dirty air out of the compressor, I removed the old filter and used a Dewalt air compressor and an air gun and blew all the nastiness out of the frame rail. If you take a look at this frame rail, it is open at both ends (front and rear of the vehicle) and has holes in the frame all along the length. When I blew out the frame, a bunch of dust came out of the frame rail. While this won't prevent dust from getting back in, I believe blowing out existing dust inside the frame rail should assist with preventing dust and other bad air from entering the new Armada suspension leveling compressor. When I removed my old compressor, I tried taking it apart to see if it could be fixed, but discovered quickly that the old compressor pump and motor were filthy, leaving me with the impression that the failure of these units are likely more to do with dust and other dirt getting into the unit and leading to failure. By blowing out the rails with an air gun as an extra step, my thinking is that it will help to keep the new levelling compressor from failing early. It took about 10 years for the original compressor to fail. I hope that by blowing out the frame rail, that I will get at least another 10 years with the new unit. One last thing, Jordan ... thanks for the video, but when you plugged in the air bag hoses into the new compressor unit, did they go in all the way? I'm talking about the spot on the new levelling compressor where the two air bag hoses plug in at the orange fitting. My hoses didn't push in all the way, and it looks like this may be the case with yours as well. You can see this on your video at time-stamp 3:05 into the video. I have about 1/8" that I feel the air bag hoses can go in further, but it feels like they have bottomed out and I don't want to apply any additional force trying to push them in.

    I have a 2017....i was checking fuses and i noticed the FL30 amp fuse was blown....i am running an aftermarket compressor as oem went out 3 years ago or so i thought at the time. Compressor isnt kicking on and I just had to replace tires and they both have negative camber slanting inward at the top. Would this FL30 fuse (its pink square fuse with clear top) be the issue and would it self correct the camber or would i have to get it aligned again as it was just aligned yesterday. Im lost atm. Any recommendations on how to reset the system without stopping the car? Install a jumper switch to a fuse or relay? The system losses pressure after an hour or so and I would like to be able to have the compressor top off the pressure to maintain height. I realize there must be a slow leak somewhere but it appears that they all leak to some degree.

    • @jhoff2488
      @jhoff2488  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      My ride fills up about every hour or so as well. It will slowly loose air then fill back accordingly. The sensor that controls it is the leveling sensor. You would need to bypass it by tapping before your relay (I think). It is possible. But honestly it’s just meant to give extra support when pulling or when additional people are in the back. I think i would not be worth your time. I tried researching some forums for you but there isn’t much. I would start with relay tho. Good luck.

    • @jhoff2488

      Mario Lopez hmm 2 possibilities
      1. Disconnect the relay switch then the battery (the one at the beginning of the video) then reconnect battery then relay switch. This will attempt to reset the system.
      2. Take it to autozone. Have them clear the code. Then see if that kicks on your compressor after the light comes off.

    Jordan, do you have any experience with the system loosing pressure over the drive time and the system not continually keeping the truck at the proper ride height? My shocks are new and I replaced my air hoses. My next guess would either be a leaky compressor or maybe a half bad relay under the hood. I have also heard that there is another brain box for the air suspension behind some panels behind the passenger second row seat on the driver side.

    • @jhoff2488
      @jhoff2488  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Eric Hasz my own guess would be a leak in the bags? Have you changed out the bags before? I don’t think it would be from a faulty relay switch. I do agree with a malfunction in the compressor. Pressure from the bags pushing air back out of the compressor due to a leak somewhere causing it to never be level.
      Another trick I have heard is get about three people to sit in the back around 500 lbs. let the compressor kick on all the way. Turn the car off and let the leveling system calibrate itself. Kinda like letting your phone battery die completely to recalibrate the battery.
      Lastly are your air hoses placed in the two holes correctly?

    • @erichasz7068
      @erichasz7068 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the quick reply. I don’t really have an issue with it being the same level on both sides. I did change the bags out. Also yes the hoses are in the correct holes. Mine is more of an issue with it not staying inflated during the drive. I let it fully inflate before I leave and by the time I get 20 mins down the road I am almost riding on the bump stops. I let it air up this morning and turned it back off. Just went and checked and the bags are completely deflated. I’m thinking what you are, somewhere the back pressure is leaking out of the compressor

    • @jhoff2488
      @jhoff2488  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Eric Hasz It sounds like the compressor itself after your last reply. Sounds like it is leaking somewhere in the lines. Once pressure is in the system, it should remajn there unless the system tells the compressor to get rid of the air. I would double check again for leaks at the fittings. Where the lines connect to the shocks themselves would be most common. I missed the part where you emphasized while driving my bad. That makes me more sure your leaking air. Either at the bags or within the compressor.

    • @jhoff2488
      @jhoff2488  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unfortunately not. At least not that I am aware of. I just looked at the manual and the only way to bypass is the leveling sensor. Honestly trial and error. You could plug the harness into the 4WD relay and see if it kicks on. The relay works as a switch to turn the pressure sensor on (leveling sensor). Unplugging it would give that sensor no power. Therefor nothing would happen.
      Worst case buy a relay and change it. It’s 15$ and it’s never bad to have a new one.

    • @jhoff2488
      @jhoff2488  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fernando Aguilar okay so I just talked about replacing it. I don’t know to check to see if the solenoid is burned out. The only way to check is to replace it. They cost like 25 dollars at autozone. If you replace and it turns on then it was the solenoid.
      Now to rule out if it’s the air compressor or not you can override the air compressor but that is located under the rig. That’s the part in the video where I talk about using three clothes pins and touching them together. If you did that and the air compressor kicked on you know it either has to be the leveling sensor or some other electrical problem.
      If yours isn’t working 75% chance your air compressor is bad. 25% chance it’s the solenoid under the hood.
      Hope this helps.

      Depends on how much. But yes. The rear of the vehicle wouldn’t have the support it normally does without the bags. The fact that it’s both wheels is likely from the lack of support. The little suspension it has without the bags is under a lot of load. This can pull the top of tires inward (physics). Air compressor should fix this.

      I would first start off finding the leak. Air is leaking from somewhere. 1. Where the hoses enter the air compressor. 2. Where the hoses enter the bags. 3. The bags themselves. Get yourself some water and soap and start spraying to find where it’s at.
      Your vehicle is only a 2012. Seems very odd that your bags would both be leaking.
      *found this
      Air ride systems have one inherent weakness no matter which manufacturer has created them. That weakness would be air leaks from the air bags, air lines used to pressurize them and solenoids that are used to inflate or deflate the air bags. It is very common for temperature to affect the the ability for the air lines and air bags to seal. When temperature drops, these lines and their seals contract creating small leaks. At least this is the most common thing that occurs. This sort of thing happens with evaporative emission systems as well.

    • @jhoff2488
      @jhoff2488  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Alex Valladares that’s a different question. Maybe look into a switch that controls your compressor rather than the leveling sensor? You would run a switch through the relay I believe.
      Or there may be away to mess with the leveling sensor. There is an arm that I was talking about in the video. The only thing I can think is messing with the nut on the arm to shorten it. Shortening it would make the arm not goes a far up and stop the compressor. Note: I have never done this but the concept makes sense. I can look at mine if you need me too.
      Honestly I would go with a switch tho.

      The level sensor on the suspension needs to be adjusted. It’s a turnbuckle set up. Loosen the two nuts and adjust the linkage.

      Mustafa Gak have you unplugged the solenoid under the hood and plug it back in to reset the system?
      If that doesn’t work I would lean towards the leveling sensor. Expensive little part. It may be tricking the system to think it’s never level and keeps telling the compressor to engage.
      When the compressor is on is it actually filling up your bags? If so I guarantee your bags blew due to air pressure which is causing your compressor to remain engaged. Air is leaking out as air is coming in.
      Hope this helps. Let me know.
