For my "scroll to track" function, I have it setup in my session looking "as if it was a desk" to where I put my banks (& limit them to 8) into one of uf8's softkeys. That way, I tap the button for drums for example & it goes to where each of my drums are on the same fader every time, do it for each group plus aux's, master section, etc. But I've learned some cool new ways of looking at new uses through this & also learned we have some of the same preferences
Always great to see a variety of approaches. In my case it's UF8-UF1-UC1. In front of them are Streamdeck XL, keyboard and mouse. The UF8 is on the left to allow for fader rides in midi cc layer with my left hand while I play virtual instruments with my right hand (mod / expression / etc). UF1 is in the middle so the transport is directly in front of the place where I naturally rest my right hand when not using the mouse (wrist pad in front of keyboard). UC1 to the right because I don't need to look at it for EQ or compressor changes due to muscle memory of the knob locations. I am left-handed but I have always placed my mouse on the right like a right-handed person. For me using transport with my left hand feels strange.
wow ok makes a lot of sense I using a C24 with pro tools still and love the amount of faders and overview it gives me (even if it's just a psychological 'i feel in control' effect which I'm happy to admit) but what you said regarding the right hand resting on the trackball - that's totally true for me and it ends up resting directly in front of the lovely transport control so sometimes I actually have to concentrate using it each time I do I feel happy though because the buttons are awesome 😅
@@RPMusicStudios it does, I fully admit... then again my setup is frozen in time now and I can't run protools natively as the legacy controllers only work via Rosetta let's see how long I can stay on that 🙈
@@kokocreatesmusic ohhh yea. Are you stuck at 10? If so at least you skipped the headaches of 11,12 and so on. Now it’s been rock solid for me. I definitely tried a bunch of DAWs in that time but I’m just comfortable in PT.
@@RPMusicStudios I'm as recent as 2023.3 (March last year) but I'm keeping it there for now) I had it on the M1 and it worked great but that's when I got the C24 😅
Great overview. I'm almost to the point of pulling the trigger on the UC1 and UF1. Do I miss anything by not getting a UF8 other than the ability to move multiple faders at one time, and maybe some extra soft keys?
I don’t think so. If you just want the fader for occasional automaton rides then the uf1 is the way to go. I’m just used to having multiple faders to balance drums and multiple guitars at a time.
These are next-level workflow lessons! 😮
Thank you for watching!

@@bamfasaurusrex thanks for your input! I like that idea of keeping banks of 8. Muscle memory is a thing!

Nice! Thanks for sharing your arrangement and workflow needs! It’s always interesting to see how others needs dictate placement of their tools.
Thank you brother! You've delivered it!!! You're a good dude!
Glad I could help out!

I’ve always wanted that C24!!!! It must feel nice to see it when walking in to the studio!

It was a surprise for me controllin an UAD Neve EQ with UC1... thought that it can be used exclusively for SSL chanelstrips...
I have them set exactly the same.. PHEW ! 🤣 kindest regards from London UK
Thank you!
Very helpful. Thank you.
I love my SSL thanks for video :)
The SSL controllers are my favorite so far!

@@RPMusicStudios thx! I am too, but not for$900!
I just added a UC1 and UF1 with 3 XTouches!
@@88mokeyz8k nice!
👍👍👍
How much do they cost ? All of them together . The UC1 , UF8 and all
Uc1 $800/Uf1 $700/Uf8 $1300
interesting.
