People are always surprised that I am teaching all age groups pre-K to 12th grade with my doctorate. I was complimented by two African gentlemen for my commitment to teaching at the ground level instead of teaching at the university level or devoting my skills to administration. I love teaching all grade levels. Keeps my mind open to the innocence and curiosity of learning.

Perpetual thanks to you Prof. Karen Hunter and Dr. Greg Carr-. Chiming in again from Warsaw, Poland. The fact that natural law is unassailable and that our common humanity is our true power resonates with me soundly. Yes, it was during the pandemic that I tuned into the frequency of these conversations and am indescribably grateful. While taking the time to ruminate upon so many topics and questions which have been raised (in these forums), I came upon the realisation that, with regard to modern capitalism- on a global scale, WE are the actual capital. WE, literally, ARE the money. It can not be made, transferred or exchanged without our being and doing. The system itself is wholly dependent on US, as its most essential natural resource. The machinery, mechanism, fuel and life's blood of the whole thing. I am profoundly struck by the (poignant) irony of our persistence in attempting to accumulate "financial" wealth in a system in which we are the only actual currency.

Good afternoon Professor Hunter and Dr. Carr, congratulations on a fantastic class today. Wow! Dr. Carr you were on fire analyzing new Florida educational curriculum. You are truly a master teacher. 🎉🎉🎉🎉As a Canadian teacher, I agree with you that the curriculum is a boilerplate to guide the teacher. You are so true, master teachers should be able to take the curriculum/course specifications and dissect it to prepare their lesson plans. I follow the same format that you so eloquently outlined to prepare my lesson plans and daily subunits. I agree with you, we need more master teachers to empower our students. Again fantastic class. Thanks to my two favorite teachers.❤❤

I think we need to have a deep conversation about Capitalism in Knubia. We dont always know what we are saying when we promote capitalism. We parot the idea that Capitalism is equal to making money and creating opportunity, but can never admit (or just dont know) that the point of capitalism is exploitation for the purpose of gaining power. Its a convo that needs to be had.

Your phone was made through capitalism. If you wanna go back to living in a hutt, by all means abolish capitalism. Capitalism is just the mutual free exchange of goods and services. The stuff you're describing is corrupt capitalism or vulture capitalism, that's the capitalism all these big corporations are using, NOT the small town businesses.

Truly inspiring how you (Karen) laid down the story of the preschool teacher’s (Tiffany Aliche) pinpointed choice to teach literacy to 3-4 yr olds in counties with high need. And conscientious life choices and decisions that see how to make the greatest positive impact on those communities into the future-using her life as a seed, and germinating it in that way to become a tree for the community when she’s no longer here. About 6-8 minutes in..

"...Raised by human beings..." Yes, that's what we experience on Knubia every day! Got behind in doing my replays, but got to this time, since you'll both be gone. Dr. Carr, you are one of the Master Teachers that I had in grammar school; all Black, living in Chatham when it was fresh [southside of Chicago's newly-changed neighborhood brick bungalows in the 60s], and they brought books from home for us. Baldwin, Richard Wright, everybody. And they asked questions to make us think, just like you're doing today. I'm sure Karen does the same w/her journalism students. The news will never be the same, once they matriculate. It will become TRUTHFUL, something we're missing...
Hopefully, I'll be able to join all of you for next year's trip. As the old folks used to say [wait - I am an Old Folk!] - may you have travelin' mercies throughout your trip, and come back w/a WHOLE lot of pictures and vids... @Ms_Butler

Professor Hunter and Dr. Carr, I'm extremely grateful for this "Saturday Knowledge Bank". Between "In Class With Carr" and "Inside The Issues With Dr. Leon", my mind is being enlightened and instructed in a way I never experienced when I went through school. In this "age of ignorance and greed", we need these platforms immensely. I'd heard some of the controversy surrounding Aldean's song/video, took a moment to watch it, after hearing Dr. Carr's points toward the end of the class. Then, I did my own search on the three horrific points in history tied to that Maury Cty. Courthouse building in Columbia, TN. Aldean can play dumb all he wants to. We know better. Interesting that he didn't include scenes of the assault on the Capitol; footage of folks looking like roaches, crawling the walls of the Capitol, breaking windows, trashing offices, propping their nasty feet on the SOTH's desk, etc. DC ain't what you'd consider a big town, but, anyway. He knew exactly what he was doing. Thank you and Dr. Carr for what you bring forth every week. It's exactly what we need!!!!!

That tracking is such a prison for young people- and a preview of a life of no choices. Dr. Carr says it is decided in the 8th grade, but really, it is 3rd grade. Jail breaking "education" is the only way forward for our young people who deserve so much more than we are providing for them. Enough with just going through without challenging our institutions- we must remake and reimagine everything.

Jason Aldean also had the first country Rap song, "Dirt Road Anthem". It has been the biggest hit of his career because it crossed over into popular culture. So, he insults the people and the culture who is responsible for his biggest, money making hit.

The inception classroom discussion made me recall High School sorting: Not by aptitude, interests, skills, and gifting... but prioritized by quotas and test scores, without realized intent to expose students to a myriad of choices in advance, nor meaningful discussions with students about their future. It should be incorporated throughout curriculum with appropriate oversight and correction.

The moms for liberty is the new killer of our education system. The dumbing down of the American education system started 40 years ago. We have to trian our community to teach our kids through our church's, community centers, and our schools. The dumbing down of American education was exposed during the pandemic. I have been saying this for years. This platform is so refreshing.

Very well aware of the work of “The Little Professor of Piney Woods” and his progeny. We’ve talked about it here. It’s an interesting history, as is the history of Black boarding schools in general. The African-centered spaces provide a necessary element of culturally-centered work that would only enhance a
Piney Woods-type work. This is the unrealized work we must complete.
