I am on the verge of splashing out on a Hazelburn Sherry wood 2023. 4 bottles left but $160 - from the 3 reviews I have seen on TH-cam it seems worth it! Have yet to buy a bottle of Glenallachie, but tried it in a sample 10cc and it was superb! Cheers Gert
Craigallachie 13 was very strange to me. It feels dirty in a good way. Finlaggan batch strength was also wierd for me. Taste like Ranch dip for me. Love it. Cheers.
I have enjoyed the 10, 12 and yes I enjoyed this 15. It ended a little short in my opinion but I have fond memories of all of them. Thanks Gert. Ciao 👋 S.
Great review of Glenallachie 15 Gert. I've gone through 2 bottles in the last couple of years and it is a reliable dram if you like a sherry forward whisky. It's not overly complex, and it is not strange in any particular way it's just good. I don't know if I will be looking for another bottle of it as I want to move onto their CS releases that I have picked up in the last year. The strange one I had was the 2020 special release of Lagavulin 12 CS.
Sipping the new 2024 release now. It´s very good, but it is not at all what I expected. Don’t know how it compares to your sample, but it is very floral and light compared to the 12 and 18. Very strange but absolutely beautiful. Still… I think I prefer the 12 YO, but this is the neck pour, so who knows. I really, really like GlenAllachie. Huge fan 😊 And Gert. I just have to say… There’s no “N” in Allachie 😅

Appreciate the kind words mate. Cs is definitely something I like. The search continues. Cheers
One of the more wierd ones I tried recently is Mackmyra Björksav, malt whisky matured in birch sap wine casks.
Colour me intrigued…….

@@MortAllachie lol. You can say it ……. Strange indeed. But trust your taste buds. They know best. Cheers
Maybe you should try the Glenturret 10 Peat smoked. I found that very different and complex. Cheers!
Thanks. Will try to get some.
Is big difference between this one and IB Ruadh Maor?? 👍😁🥂🙋🏻♂️
Is this better than 10 yo/cs batch 8?
I love 10/ B8 a lot...
I prefer the cs
