A great Arthur Conan Doyle story, fast, no fat and morally dubious, which I loved. Superbly narrated with some nice accent/dialect work. Excellent. Thank you.
It's raining heavy. I made arrangements with friends to go see a movie. I am at the 1/2 way mark of this story. I just called them to say that I changed my mind about the movie. Ok, let this story continue..
Thank you Nusrat. Actually this story is one of a collection of 12 I've done ('Round the Fire Stories' by Conan Doyle) available on Audible, iTunes etc - if you'd like to hear any of the others! Hoping to have more on Audible soon. Appreciate your kind feedback, best wishes
Time to relax and enjoy another of your wonderful renditions from the tales of Arthur Conan Doyle , with a nice cup of coffee ☕️ Thank you so very much. This is a treat ! 👌🏼
Thank you Christine. This was a re-upload of a previously released story from a few months ago (fixing an audio glitch from the earlier version), I do hope you don't mind the repeats!
Bitesized Audio Classics I'm happy to listen to all of them again , you really are so well received . Hope you're getting some rest between caring, etc. Best wishes to you , my dear . 😊
Dipping my t..ears outside of ghost stories. Impeccable as per usual and such a splendid choice of story. Your channel and your voice are truly lifesavers at times and always most enjoyable. Thank you.
Thank you sir for wonderful Arthur Conan Doyle story. Travelling today after long time for work. This will keep me calm and entertained in my journey. Stay safe.
Hello Vera, how kind of you to let me know, thank you. I would like to narrate some children's stories, but unfortunately I can't do that for this channel as there are special rules governing content for children on YT, and I need to be careful to follow those. I may do something for Audible or similar at some point though, and will let you know if so. Thank you for listening!
@Ευανθία Ζαρκάδα A very good point actually; you're right that, according to the story, his leg was broken and mended badly, so it's not a club-foot at all...
In a previous comment you had said you going to do a story featuring ' one of GK Chesterston's lesser-known detectives' (not Father Brown). Updates please? VERY GOOD STORY INDEED. To repeat someone else's comment: ACD and your voice are perfect together.
Thank you Patricia. Ah yes, I remember that... I had one of the "Horne Fisher" stories lined up a while ago, but I was derailed by events. Now you've prompted me I'll go back and take another look at him
Messed up. A good story for bad guys getting away with the loot after making a man live miserably in fear for five years! Getting away with murder. For shame. Not a feel good piece at all. I’m sure that was the aim for the time period it probably cause a small uproar. I’ll stick with the most excellent Father Brown stories. They suit me better.
Thanks for listening. I've some more Father Brown stories on my list for next year, as well as one of G. K. Chesterton's other (less well known) detectives...
A.C. Doyle and Simon Stanhope. Perfect match.
Very kind, thank you!
Such a brilliant level, phonetically and artistically. Possibly the very best there is, in the audio book world.
What a lovely comment, thank you!

I second that motion. This reply is to demonstrate to a corporation that this content deserves exposure.

Good afternoon dear Simon.Thank you.Already looking ahead to your narrating.Vera.
Thank you for the excellent reading of this story! But I have a question: was he club-footed or had his foot broken?
@Ευανθία Ζαρκάδα A very good point actually; you're right that, according to the story, his leg was broken and mended badly, so it's not a club-foot at all...
strange odd good story.
Dziękuję
Excellent

Just read the comments below.....? They cannot be improved upon!
Let bygones be bygones...2 : 33...would you mind explain this expression...oh - uh...cheers!
It's an expression which basically means: forget the past, forgive past grievances, and move on...
@@BitesizedAudio Thanks again.Got it!

Yes, it appears in that form quite regularly in Victorian and Edwardian literature, you don't tend to see it in modern English fiction
