I purchased the Glycine Combat Sub GL0083 this past December from Costco. Although I have never had an automatic diver watch on a NATO strap, and have always pretty much preferred a stainless steel bracelet or a rubber strap, I have come to really appreciate the look of this watch on the black/gray nylon NATO strap that comes standard on this watch. At $299.99, the quality and value of this watch is hard to beat. Very happy with this purchase ! 😎

Excellent review. I have a Combat Sub, it is my daily watch and I love it. My son has two Combat Subs. So we are a Glycine family indeed. I do not think there is another dive watch that can match its value proposition. The watch is extremely well made, feels very solid on the wrist, keeps excellent time, looks great and is a strap monster. Highly recommended and the grey market prices are insanely low for what you get. I think it is arguably equal to many watches selling for up to $2000 retail.

The trend in watch modding now is to have that separation between the bezel and Crystal with the raised crystal. Double dome on skx or top hat crystals with stock bezel. Some more expensive swiss-made watches do have the raised crystal over bezel, particularly older swiss-made watches. Good review thanks, I've always liked the glycine diver , great value.

I can't even count how many Glycine watches I've owned so far I love them so much. At the moment I have a bronze combat sub vintage and pvd combat vintage.. If you purchase on Ashford there are some serious discount codes you can find. I think I got my pvd vintage sub for less than $250

It IS a fantastic deal, this is why it is on my wrist right now. I had been looking around for an affordable but good every day diver watch but all I could find were micro brands or the usual Seiko/Citizen. Now I have a veritable Swiss watch and it is CLASSY. It is the one with some gold details and on the rubber strap with the vanilla scent!! Love it, thanks for bringing it to my attention. And by the way the Invicta connection is a non issue.

I own both the SKX009 and the GL0380 Glycine Combat Sub GMT with the "Coke" bezel. The Glycine's thin case and it's lugs make it wear much smaller than a 42mm. It really wears like a dream compared to the chunkier SKX. For me, the absolute best value for a fully Swiss automatic sub wristwatch. You cannot go wrong with a Glycine. Great review!

One important thing you forgot to mention, Oleg, is the fact that this dive watch has a trip lock waterproof system similar to a Rolex. A real divers watch not a desk diver. My one has drilled lugs, it is my favourite dive watch and it wears smaller than it's 42mm case size would suggest and you can dress it up on a Milanese bracelet too. A very underrated watch. Thanks for the review.

I just picked up my third one of these, I had sold the previous two at different points. I always liked these and respected the watch especially for the insane value. My previous two were the numeral dials which I really like. I never did quite get along with the bracelet which is what did me in on those I think. On this new one I was in Costco grabbing some wings for the Super Bowl and I had to saunter by the watch stand (can't hurt right 😅I said... So I walk up and damn if they don't have the GL083 sitting there for $239 bucks. I am like, damn, you are kidding me. So I have to try it on and when I do it just sings to me right away. It felt "just right", the aged lume, the hands, the look of the watch on the nato...it just screamed class and quality. Well I didn't pull the trigger right there because I had just bought like three or four new watches (I was trying them, not keeping all) all of them Steeldives so crazy cheap. I also have a new Combat sub quartz, but it did not tick the boxes like this auto sub.
Long story short I end up going back to Costco that same day to buy the thing and damn if it hasn't left my wrist and I have already ordered three different straps. This feels like it could be "the one". I know that is a big statement but this thing is like a better Bond...or a Bond, Sub mix or something... I am really loving it and can't recommend enough. Oh and it is currently running +2 or 3 a day. I will go from canvas to rubber to leather and this thing rocks it, unreal. Get one and don't look back, although you might get rid of some other watches after getting one..😆

That Seiko just looks obsolete. Anyway, I enjoyed your review.

@@faridslimani4794, it is a watch review channel, after all. If you like them both, more power to you. 👍

Interesting. My Glycine hardly ever leaves the box. The SKX is a keeper. And I started out as a " my Promaster is better fanboy" .

@@JeeGee114, cool. To each his own. I am sure that Seiko will soon release an SKX special edition for Seikophiles to add to their collections.

glycine is not the same anymore... if you have the new logo, crown and back plate with the ray, it is now an invicta.... if you want the REAL glycine sub then look for the seals on the back plate like this one.
