Exactly @barunsharma9226! if you already have the "banshaj" nagarikta and also an old Nepali Passport, doesnt that already prove that you are a "Nepali"? Why does one need to go thru the same motion all over again? How can a person that plans to get the NRN card go thru all this Nepali bureaucratic nonsense while on a short holiday trip to Nepal? Smh!

I think NRN Card is best solution. No hassles. Pay $500, get it. Buy visa for Nepal for one month. Go and come back on time. finished ! Oh yes, you can still buy and sell properties with NRN card in Nepal, and open dollar accounts in Nepalese banks. So why do you take troubles for NRN Citizenshp card ? That's a rubbish idea. Nepal should allow dual citizenship system like other advanced countries. The government is still not clear, not stable, no clear policies, no educationally qualified MPs and ministers. What to expect. Don't give up your original nagarikta. Keep it as long as you live. Travel on tourist visa. That's all I advise.

hi Prasmita. thanks for making such informative videos. i found new informations after visiting your youtube channel. could you please make videos regarding transit visa information when we are switching airline in transit airports in foreign countries? example australia bata singapore or malasiya or thailand hudai nepal janu paryo ra aafaile ticket kateko chha airline switch garera bhane tyo bela ma tyo specific transit country ko kasari visa form haru bharne bhanera idea chahiyo. i hope we can save money on travelling by doing so.

These are few questions, if you can address as there is not much information available on NRN citizenship on Nepal government website.
1. Do we need to pay visa fees even after having NRN citizenship to stay in Nepal & how long one can stay ?
2. A person holding NRN can marry Indian/other country girl in Nepal and if they can , then one can register their marriage in local Ward Office or VDC office?
3. After having NRN citizenship, one can travel to India or not as we all know it’s open for Nepalese people ?
Good points raised. Regarding your No. 1 query, Immigration Dept Nepal has reiterated that even with NRN citizenship certificate, we must pay the tourist visa fees while visiting Nepal or staying or overstaying. Government has remained silent over this issue. Regarding 3, for now, avoid going to India with this new citizenship certificate. Indians are always looking out to give troubles to Nepalis in Indian airports. To me, this NRN citizenship is just a farce. No benefits accrued. If you have an NRN card, that is same as NRN citizenship. Go to Nepal with NRN card issued for 10 years, pay the tourist visa fee and save yourself from visiting office to office, paying so much to corrupt officials, making documents, doing criminal checks, so much hassles. How many times would you go to Nepal with NRN citizenship card and free visa? One month, two months in a year. You can buy visa for one month and two months easily. NRN Card holders have the same rights except they won't be involved in political activities and elections. That's all.
You made a valid point, I see no point having this nrn citizenship card, by having this card you are exposing, you aren't Nepalese and still need to pay visa fee. Better just have a NRN card at least it allows you not paying visa fee.

1. No, you don’t need to pay if you have Nrn card or Nrn citizenship to enter Nepal. They will stamp your American Passport and you are free to go…
2. Not sure..
3. There are still so many questions so assuming that you are not able to apply Nepali passport, I assume you’re not allowed to visit India with Nrn citizenship
@@NihalRana-jd4if Yes, NRN card is purchased for $500 (UK £365). Then it is free visa for 10 years, multiple entry. Stay as long as we want in Nepal. Need to renew free of cost every year in Dillibazar Immigration.
QNo. 3 is very important. We cross the border regularly. So far we are showing our Sakkali Nagarikta (not photocopy), or Nepali passport. But I am not sure if the BSF in Indian side will recognise NRN Nagarikta. We will never have Nepali passport again, so no question of showing that passport. I think government of Nepal should start a talk with govt of India about recognising new NRN Nagarikta as proof of ID for the bearer.

Yes you need a visa to stay in nepal like you have visa before and pay respectively the visa fee
You have to get tourist visa like you did before with foreign passport
Assuming that you have Nrn Card or Nrn Nagrita no you don’t need to pay any fees however you need to get visa though…you simply present your Nrn card or Nrn citizenship to immigration office and they will stamp your American passport
If you don’t have above documents then yes you need to pay visa fee and need visa as well

There's lot of complain about NRN Nagarikta. People are still paying visa fee to enter Nepal. Paying penalty fee if you over stay visa. Maplot office don't recognize this Nagarikta.

Query to Paras and Rachana Jee via this chanel. I understand you applied NRN citizenship while you were on a holiday in Nepal (and not from Nepal Embassy in US prior to visiting Nepal).
Did the concerned authority in Nepal ask you to submit your "NRN ID Cards" at time of application, if you you both entered Nepal with your ID Cards?
2. Or, if you had no NRN ID Cards held while entering Nepal, please ignore above Q.
It's important to know because I hear Nepal embassies overseas ask and retain NRN ID cards when applying for NRN citizenships. This means, one can not visit Nepal under NRN Visa if he/she doesnt have the card in hand physically and simply visit under TOURIST VISA and same procedure.....

It’s the same process. They do ask the copy of Nrn card as well..when you are filling forms there are section where uou have to fill out the nrn card information. Tentatively it takes 15-16 days ( since it’s new process lots of officer don’t know what the hell they are doing).

I have been told that we must go to original district before migrating to another district.
You have to go to the same jilla prasasan karayalaye where they issued your original Nepal Nagrita in order to surrender. Without surrendering your old nagrita you can’t process your New Nrn nagrita

You don’t need to pay however you need visa which is pretty easy. You just go to NRN immigration window and they will stamp your American Passport.

Yes! You do need NRN card to apply the Nrn Nagrita. I just applied the Nrn nagrita 2 days ago..process is very lengthy. It took me almost 15-16 days as the process is new lots of officers don’t know the process so it was trail and error for me :/
I keep getting contradictory answers on this. Kasaile chainchha bhannu hunchha ani kasaile chaindaina bhannu hunchha. Maybe it’s because the officers in Nepal helping them have different requirements?? They need to publish proper guidance on this. Thank you for replying 👍🏻
@@Himali77 I went to the NRN office to confirm this. The helpdesk person gave me the mobile number of an NRN consultant who overlooks citizenship. I spoke to him and confirmed NRN card is not required and I went to the CDO office. As per notice from the home ministry NRN card was not required when I made it. If you want to save $500 don't make an NRN card.

They are talking about Nrn Nagirta (Citizenship) not Nrn card. Embassy doesn’t have authority to issue Nagrita..it’s very sensitive and hard process

I and my partners have our NPP issued from Sunsari and Kaski respectively. We have our “Basai-Sarai” documents in Lalitpur, Kathmandu. Do we still need to go back to our respective CDOs to apply for “Angikrits” or CDO Lalitpur can issue Angikrits for us?

That is correct! They did ask my Nrn card, funny thing is officer was assuming nrn card was given by organization not the Embassy 😂. Make sure you take your these items from US ahile visiting as other stuff can be furnished in Nepal.
1. Original Nepali nagirta in order to surrender ( also you can only surrender where the original nagrita was issued)
2.Nepali passports or they there is another process
3. Nrn card
4. Certificate of naturalization
5.American passport
