this was exactly what I was looking for I picked up everything from Best Buy at open box prices, A5000 for $530, A7000 for $770, SW 3 for $200, SW 5 for $350 and the rear SR3 for $185, couldnt get the SR5 on open box. I'm going to play with all the components and choose a set up, buy i think I most likely choose the A7000 and SW5 sub and returning the rest. thanks again for this awesome video review 🔥
Using the a7000+sw5 and getting in the rs5s soon. At this point it is already fantastic even without the surrounds. It made me drop my sonos arc to the bedroom lol
Bought sony HT A9 with SRS 5 sub…it’s something on a different level…i have sonos arc with full sub and bookshelf speaker setup in my living room…but this beast is a different species.
I have the hta7000, I really wanted Bose for their signature sound and to compliment all the rest of the Bose speakers we have in each room, but we went for the ht, and recently found the setting on how to adjust literally every single speaker on the sound bar, rear and even make the sub louder. I fine tuned it probably 20 times and it now sounds even better then Bose or Sonos, I’ve tinker with my friends Sonos. And it the ht7000 is way better. I definitely advise discovering the adjustments for all speaker levels and adjust them all manually for best sound. I’m blown away by this greyed out feature I found 2 years later. lol Honestly, adjusting each speaker to fire upwards and rears louder makes a world of difference. I wanted Bose but this better after finally recovering each and every single speaker level adjustment. You can do the auto map and all to self adjust with the tv sub and rears, but after that, turn off the 360 and mapping, go into manual value, and spend two weeks figure out how much louder each speakers should be for best sound stage and experience. Definitely turn on the 360 and map adjustment back on. Also, anyone with high end sound system should stream hifi for amazing music. This is the perfect sound bar and powerful beyond what we can actually use with our bother neighbors. I now for sure know we made the best choice by not getting Bose, Sonos, or Samsung. Definitely recommend this now over any other for a Sony tv or with out a Sony tv.
I configured the HT-A7000 sound height to default and distance further from LR speakers and the RS5 and A7000 becomes much louder. The auto detect setting was higher height and closer to LR speakers which though was correct but sounded soft.

When the A5000 and A7000 came out I didn't hear a big difference from the HTZF9 then I heard the A9, I was blown away, happy tears and goosebumps. We ordered the A9 with the SW9 and have been smiling since. Fucking incredible speakers and sub. If you like me have been on the fence, just go for it, the difference is night and day if you like me came from HTzF9. The HTA9 if calibrated right is the best home theater system you can find under 4K$.
I have the HT-A9 with the SA-SW3 sub connected to my 65 inch A80J TV. The first movie I watched was A Quiet Place II with the A9 installed. I was amazed to hear sound coming from overhead.
@@Barleyleg no drop outs. I even have my wireless nest hub between my rear speakers. Been rock solid since day one. I had the ht-z9f sounds bar and Sony made a change to my tv that fixed the drop outs I was having with that. Once I plugged the A9 in is been rock solid.
@@PatrickNolte Thanks for the reply. Good to know about it not dropping signal. I currently have the Elevate and recently purchased a x90j. The Elevate sounds fine in my apartment, but, like all Vizio products, is sometimes unreliable. Sony products generally work well together, so that’s one reason I was looking to upgrade. Wish Sony would make some 21st century receivers, though.
@@Barleyleg well I did have dropouts from the Sony Z9F. But before Sony logged into the tv and made some changes I returned it for the Sonos Arc. That thing was a joke. You have to dance around the room with an iphone to make it work. It sounded like crap and it too dropped out. I returned that two days later for the Z9F. That's when Sony made the change. I replaced the Z9F with the A9. I've had no regrets. We are amazed by the sound bubble it creates. We like the music in Cruella. It sounded good with the Z9F and it was horrible on the Arc. But it still is amazing with the A9. The music follows her was she walks around the building. I use the A80J as the center speaker and we are very satisfied with voices coming from the tv.
@@PatrickNolte Nice! But I think my biggest holdout might be the fact that my x90 doesn’t offer that center channel compatibility option. Perhaps Sony will update my model down the road. I feel all Bravia’s should share certain core compatibility features, IMO.
Great review! I purchased and had installed my 65” A80J with the HT-A7000. Couldn’t find the SW5 sub so opted with an open box SW3 sub for $100 today. I have a medium size room so per your review, I should be OK. Thanks for the video!
Hey, I'm curious to find out your opinion on the SW3 sub after a month. I live in an apartment and I fear the bigger SW5 sub might cause more disturbance to my downstairs neighbours
I got the HT-7000 and the SW5 to test side by side with Sonos Arc and sub. So far I feel like the SW5 is under performing. Ive turned the sub level to max and made sure night mode was off but it feels like most the bass is coming from the bar and not hitting as hard as I would expect.
Tried a bunch , including the Sony HT-A7000 and the Sonos ARC...Both with subs and surrounds...We settled on the Sony HT-A9...Very happy with our decision! We're also very happy with the 'phantom' center channel dialog...Not sure what you're settings are, but we've found the dialog to be excellent...(LG TV), and certainly far superior to the A7000.
Another reviewer also said he loved the phantom center as sound bar center would pull his eyes down whereas with phantom center he feels sound is coming from behind the TV which keeps eyes on TV
@@AbhishekGupta-uu3uy Yeah…I’d agree with that…We’re still very happy with it…We tried every system at home…We would have kept the SONOS, (including the sub and surrounds), if it had been compatible with DTS…Then we thought that the A7000, (with sub) was the ticket…The build quality of the A7000 was great, but the sound stage was disappointing. The A9 has been excellent!
@@AbhishekGupta-uu3uy nah the phantom center sucks. the a9 is better than the 7000 bar alone. But adding the rears you get almost the same sound bubble. That is the only down fall of the A9. it cannot handle sound that great for the center channel. if anyone tells you the phatom center is better or the same as a dedicated center they have no clue what they're talking about, haha.
My ht-a5000 sounds absolutely amazing. Even when I didn't have the rear speakers and sub it sounded so well balanced and less 'tin' than my buddies sonos arc. Now with the other speakers it's insane the perfect surround. I love even when I have it quiet it doesn't just turn into pure treble. It adjusts so Well. 10 out of 10
@@TRUMP_2024_PREZ yeah since I have the other pieces I thought about selling my a5000 to put towards the a7000 but idk.. I'm pretty much super happy with the 5000 right now
@@TRUMP_2024_PREZ yeah, that's the thing is I'm getting updates on mine too.. it sounds fantastic no matter what I'm listening to and what volume it's at.
I have the HT-A7000, SA-SW3, SA-RS3S and wow I’m so happy I invested in this sound system. I bought the sound bar originally for the HDMI 2.1 extra ports to go with the OLED TV. New gaming systems took up all the tv ports. I been thinking about getting the new SA-RS5 but paying extra for something I already have, that does little doesn’t sound good. I tell everyone about this set up but cost is such a problem for most. I live an apartment so the bigger subwoofer was out of the question. Cost is high on all these products, so buying one at time isn’t a bad idea. I think I pieced all them together over about 4 months. I’m happy with it, I’m sure most people with these products are happy as well.
I just went with the Sonos Arc, sub mini and one SL's over the Sony HT-A5000, SA-SW3 sub and SA-RS5 rears. Hope i made a good choice. BF sales were great on the Sonos system. My TV is a Sony XR65A80J which the Sony set up most likely would have been a better pairing. Will soon find out. It get delivered tomorrow 11/23.
Just ordered 7000 for $1198 and sw3 for $198 and free shipping using a deal from online retailer. Will wait for RS5 to go on sale. Your review helped tremendously. Online retailer can be found fairly easily. One of the bigger names in the electronic business but not a big box store. Not a river in South America either. Hope those hints are enough of a crutch.
How were you able to get sound modes on the HT-A5000? I have this soundbar and my sound mode setting is greyed out in the menu. It simply says "feature not available"
@@4eversabi not that I know of. My Sony TV is super old so I don't get any of the benefits of acoustics center sync. It's a pretty solid product. I'd probably recommend the Rs5 rears now having tried them out..
A year or so ago I purchased the Sony a80j, an upgrade from the LG we've had for the last four years. I then wanted an atmos system, but unfortunately bought the premium visio system. What a mistake, apparently Sony and Visio do not get along. After a year of getting subpar performance I went to TH-cam to review a better option. After watching many reviews I settled on the 7000 with the sw5's for the rear and the sub. My wife was a bit skeptical till we watched the first movie. Wow, I would definitely recommend this setup. I know the nearly $6k price is a bit unsettling for most, but if anyone is like my wife and I, it's worth it. We also have a Sony 4k blu-ray player, but i think I'll swap it out for a ps5. Thanks for your review.
@Telakal Suri yes, it's been a great setup. The 5's are a must. My wife and I use our family room for our viewing, so a bulky component system just wasn't appealing. At nearly a thousand total watts it has the power to bring soundtracks to life.
I got scammed by Youthman. Never thought any of you guys would ever do that especially to a 100% disabled veteran. I truly enjoy your knowledge and appreciate your honesty.
Question, do you suggest hooking up the Apple 4K TV directly to an A80J then EARC to Sony HT-A9 to output sounds or the Apple TV directly into the HT-A9 then output video to the A80J?
Watching this on my OLED with my Sony HT-A9 Honestly, nothing compares to the A9, it is truly amazing. Watch my review in it and buy it! You won’t regret it.
I've been trying to get the ht-a9 for months now. I don't think it has restocked once this entire year. I really want atmos speakers for my desk and gaming pc and it seems like the only solution that can handle my non home theater style layout.
Again thank you for these in depth reviews and explanations of the various options. Awaiting delivery of my new A80J (Also purchased based off of your recommendations as A90 is just a bit outside of my price comfort zone) and then hooking up the A7000. Thank you for answering my question about (near) seamless integration into the TV menu system as well. Was hoping to not have to deal with two remotes.
I can't wait for the sound mapping update! Love the HT-A7000 with rears and sub, but the sound bubble offered by the HT-A9s is what I'm super excited about. Hope the update comes soon!! Great video, B!!!
I would love a Nakamichi Dragon system. But, since I think I've settled on the Sony A95K TV. (65" is the largest TV appropriate for our living room.) I think it may be best to go with the A7000/SW5/RS5 combination. I love that Sony now integrates the TV speakers into their overall system.
On-Screen display is missing in HT-A5000, which tells you what Sound Mode [ATMOS/Dolby Digital/DTS] you are in. I had that option in the model Sony G700 Sound Bar.
Good review, but you made one significant error. The 5000 cannot change SOUND MODES and you stated in your review. Only the 7000 has this function. I own both for 2 different TV's (both A90J). The SOUND MODE function is grayed out on the A90J stating "FEATURE NOT AVAILABLE" while using the 5000.. I reached out to Sony to see if there would be a firmware upgrade to correct this and I was told "No, the 5000 does not have that ability and no plans to add it" You should edit your video as you indicate both do this. I bought the 5000 based on your video as that function was important to me. Needless to say, I was disappointed. I think you should edit your video to let your subscribers know the 5000 does not have the Sound Mode function.
Hey, I'm planning to buy ht a7000 plus sws5 and swar5 the whole set is it worth the price are you satisfied or would you choose other equipment I also want to buy tv a90j
Since you own both, do you think the sound modes and software justify around $300 more in price (after discounts)? I want to go with the A5000 paired with a Sony A80K, but I don't want to screw myself later by not getting the 7000 initially.
@@4eversabi I got the HT-A7000. Regarding the point above about the sound modes, I do think they're important. But only because the "Cinema" mode sounds way better than every other mode. I leave it on Cinema 100% of the time. The other modes like "voice mode" and "night mode" are useful if you're trying to watch movies that range from really quiet dialogue to really loud explosions (like Marvel movies on Disney+ for example), but you want to watch at a lower volume. Otherwise, the sound is much clearer with all of these modes turned off. If I could do it all again, I probably wouldn't have purchased the Sony A80K, or this sound bar. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy with my setup, but for over $4000 I'm having way too many issues, mostly with the A80K. But also, the surround effect on the HT-A7000 is VERY faint, unless you have a very small room with short ceilings. It's a good soundbar, just not at all what is promised in the "surround sound" category.
Do you have the surrounds or sub? The oled and sound bar combo give more of an atmos effect. If you had the surrounds it also helps. I thought jt was pretty good overall
In Canada, the prices are a lot different. Sony HTA 7000 (500 watt) is $ 1699.99, SW3 (200 watt) is $ 499.99, & the SARS3S (100 watts) are $ 449.99 Of course the Sony LED Full Array & OLED TV's, are a lot higher in price than in the USA.
Thank you for this excellent review. Since you also praised the Sonos Arc and system in other videos, I'd love to hear your thoughts on Sony HT-A7000 + rears + sub vs the Sonos Arc + rears + sub, especially when it comes to movie watching and dialogue clarity on low volumes in the evening. Thanks!
Depends on your tv, with a newer Sony tv the a7 rs3’s sw5 nothings touching it with the 360 mapping it’s unreal. I had the Bose and Sonos setup and returned em both, I’ve had the Sony setup 27 days and I’m not returning it. It’s worth every penny. I plan on getting the rs5’s when available and putting the rs3’s in the bedroom on a A5
@@fiscustom5893 I tried the HT-a7000 with my A90J but I didn’t love it. The sound effects seem really harsh at moderate volumes with no way to adjust the EQ. I still have the HT-Z9F with the SA-Z9R hooked to a 65" Sony A84J. The soundbar is great and I don't see any reason to upgrade on the next several years.
I envy your attitude! I have the Elevate, and while it’s great for my apartment, I just know there’s better out there. And that’s the problem with this hobby. I can never seem to settle for “good enough”. I’m saving your comment and will refer back to it when I watch these videos. Lol. Thanks, and cheers!
@b_the_installer Try turning off the Sound Effects under the Audio settings within the sound bar set up menu. This turns off all the Cinema/Music/etc presets and passes thru the sound unfiltered. I have the HT-Z9F and it was a better sound to me vs. the over processed sound modes. Give it a try and let us know what you think. Thanks
Yes, seems like every time it updates it sounds better. I use to use 35 as a normal every day volume but now i have to keep it down between 20-25. 360 spacial is ridiculous my dog looks around like wtf?
Building a house with a 320 square feet media room that’s quite square in shape, would the ht-a9 suit this better? I like the idea of the wall mount versus sitting below the screen
I'm still waiting for my HT-A9 with SA-SW5 to arrive. Ordered end of November. 😞 I'll be pairing it with a 83" Sony A90J. I'm hoping the A90J works as a center channel but most reviews are preparing me to be disappointed. On top of which, I've currently got a very dynamic surround audio system with dedicated subsonic subwoofers. I'm sure the Sony won't compare but I'll be happy if it keeps me in the ball park. The current system takes up a lot of space and we (my wife particularly) like how this fits in the room. We'll see...soon I hope.
Hi everybody, love this discussion, but can somebody tell me how to acess sound mode cinema on ht a5000. As I understand, this option is grayed out on quick settings, but how to access this mode in an "advanced " setting on ht-a5000. I also x90k sony bravia tv, with sa sw3 and sa rs3s. If possible, an explanation would be appreciated. Thanks
I got the a5000 first for my apartment anf thinking to get the smaller rear speakers for more surround feel but im not rushing to get a subwoofer yet because of my neighbors as of yet.
I've been waiting weeks for a review of the new SA-RS5. I appreciate you taking the time to compare all 3 primary systems. However, I feel there is one thing you are lacking, which would benefit your future reviews. Your existing layout has ceilings that are just too tall to truly give an accurate review of the speakers. Since these are soundbars and not full-on home theaters, I dare say that many will end up in apartments with average height ceilings of 8-9 ft. This makes a huge difference when it comes to the Atmos effect, which for many is the key selling point to spending this kind of money on a sound system. Perhaps you have a room in your home with a lower ceiling where you can create a dedicated review area? It would make a difference. Just some thoughts. Thanks again for the review! P.S. Many asked about the difference between the RS3 and RS5, but with tall ceilings, I feel that their performance will be similar to your current layout, but for someone with shorter ceilings, the difference will be more pronounced.
thanks , that was a lot of useful info. I think for my smaller basement TV room with low ceilings I'll pick the A5000 and the bigger sub. I have found both as open box for half price on sale.
3 questions -Is there a noticeable difference with the 360 sound mapping update for the a7000? What’s the ‘bubble ‘ like with the rs-3s rears ? And is the 360 spatial sound mapping as good as the a-9? Cheers!
I’d also like to know how close the A7000 with the RS5’s are to the A9 in terms of the 360 sound bubble. If it’s negligible, I’ll definitely go with the A7000.
The A7000 is a bit more front heavy but I love it. The HT-A9 has a great sound field but I don't like it for movie dialog as I feel the The other phantom channels overwhelm the main sound. Dune was not as enjoyable on the Ht-a9 with all the quiet talk. Could hear it perfectly on A7000 but slightly less from rears.
I have a samsung q950t. 9.1.4 system. Overall I'm satisfied enough not to spend any more money on a better system. I think a real surround sound with receiver with ceiling speakers would be the next step for me but I don't want to spend any more money. Wish the q950t had a more polished app and overall experience. The sub crackle is annoying but most times fixed with changing sub channel.
I will be replacing my old Sony system. After watching your video it will not be the HTA9. Haven’t settled on which combo of the other components but most likely the cheaper bar, sub and still waffling on which rears. I don’t have vaulted ceilings and I’m intrigued by additional upfiring speakers on the new rears. Just not sure if it’s worth additional cost.
@@dharmasx2 to keep my A7000 & SW5 and add RS3 or RS5. I really like how A7000's center channel sounds so I dont really want to lose that. (I have X95J and it sucks as a center channel)

Thank you, great video. I got a question, is it possible to wirelessly connect SA-RS3S as back speakers, connect SA-SW3 wirelessly, and also connect a wired center channel speaker in AN1000 Sony receiver model?
I already have A80J and A7000 soundbar. Is this system alrrady enough or should i consider imtegrating more? Would adding the SW 3 and RS5 really enhanced the experience? RS5 is really tempting as it is battery powered.
The HT A5000 when connected to my A80CJ adds to the quick setting menu "sound mode" and "immersive AE". I can only change the sound mode by using the QSM and going to Audio settings and selecting other modes via the TV. We can live with that since we leave it in Cinema! However, "Immersive AE" appears in the QSM but is nonselectable. Is there a way to select it via the TV. Also is Immersive AE only a mode for non-Atmos content. IOW ATMOS is immersive and sends a signal to the up-firing speakers and immersive AE sends non-ATMOS to signal to the up-firing speakers when selected? Does Sony have a firmware update as you alluded to in this video or was the DEMO of the 5000 really the 7000 quick setting menu? Confused by the video. But overall very informative!
I bought both the RS3 and RS5 with the HT-A7000 and the SW5 but my question is why am I not able to use the RS3 as side speakers. It only allows to to connect one set of rear speakers
And now we await the true comparison, with hopefully a worthy contender, the new Samsung HW-Q990B. Perhaps that will be on par & actually can buy and not out of stock, for me it will be first come (available), first serve (purchase) if the they compare favorably to each other. I'm sick of waiting for the HT-A9 to be in stock.
@@BrendanEvansX - I'm hoping so. Hoping that Samsung studied Sony's offerings and improved upon any shortcomings, buggy tech, etc present in the current lineup of the HT-A9 and the HT-A7000.

it's for passthrough. so whatever you plug into the soundbar will play on your tv. otherwise you would lose the hdmi for the port the bar is plugged into on the tv
Any sound sync issues with these bars and surrounds? I have only done wired systems so far. Would having a Sony TV help, are there any settings to sync audio and video, or is it not a problem? Thanks
My system A5000-Rs3s-Sa-Sw3 Brandon I see you talk about cinema mode several times in the video, but it’s grayed out on the 5000 is the new software going to enable it with the 360 Spacial audio(it comes out today by the way) or is there another way it is activated. Very pleased with the system overall, only one gripe the HDMI input seems to be temperamental at times, works and doesn’t work at different times, had to plug everything in the TV. great system to pair with any of the Sony OLEDS.
Will the A7000 allow me to play the RS5 speaker like front speakers (where the sound is loud) and not use them as surround sound speakers? Basically can I control the volume on the RS5 speakers? I want to use this system for watching games and place one RS5 Speaker in my kitchen and another in the dining room so I want to hear the announcer clearly on all speakers. Can you add 4 RS5 speakers to the A7000?
After the Sony soundbar and the Sony rear speakers (RS5) are connected, can the sound volume level on the rear speaker be changed without changing the sound level of the soundbar? In other words, can the sound level of the rear speakers be adjusted individually and independently? Also, can the soundbar remote control be used to turn ON/OFF the soundbar and the rear speakers simultaneously? Thank you!
I purchased the Sony X8500 Atmos SB and have an LG C1 55"TV. I'm having trouble assigning the Port (arc) #2 to the TV. And I can't get the HDMI light to light on the SB. The bars only indicator light that's lit is the TV light and the Vertical indicator. Also when I go into the LG's menu, under Sound, the Atmos section is not lit up, even when playing an Atmos vid. It also can connect Bluetooth but Atmos won't work with that connection. Would you have an idea of what I'm missing?
Good and interesting review. You didn't mention music. That is the other side of the centre channel dialogue coin. I assume that soundbars don't present a very wide soundstage when listening to music. We are downsizing to an apartment so need to change my receiver and 5.1 speaker system of a soundbar or HT-A9 set up. So, how did you find music listening in the different systems?
Currently I have the RS5's, I was looking to buy the HT-A9 system, do you happen to know if the RS5s and HT-A9 are compatible to work together and would there be any benefit to using both for the same system? Thank you
I like the innovation Sony is doing with their audio line up. From their sound bars to their spatial audio systems they are moving the ball upfield.

I'm interested too…
I got the HT-7000 and the SW5 to test side by side with Sonos Arc and sub.
Another reviewer also said he loved the phantom center as sound bar center would pull his eyes down whereas with phantom center he feels sound is coming from behind the TV which keeps eyes on TV
did u try in store? or bought all the systems and returned?
@@AbhishekGupta-uu3uy Yeah…I’d agree with that…We’re still very happy with it…We tried every system at home…We would have kept the SONOS, (including the sub and surrounds), if it had been compatible with DTS…Then we thought that the A7000, (with sub) was the ticket…The build quality of the A7000 was great, but the sound stage was disappointing. The A9 has been excellent!
@@tripleseven8361 i think this reviewer is harsh on sony A9 for a reason .. it will shrink his market of getting home theatre setup gigs
I LOVE MY NEW SONY A7000 SOUNDBAR WITH 83" A90J OLED...PERFECT MATCH... ATMOS 3D SUROUND...SOUND INSANE 🔊🤤

Think im going to return the HT A9 system today and pick up the 7000 with the new rears. They are back in stock at best buy.
See my remarks...We had all of that...with big subs and rears and were disappointed...Of course it's a matter of opinion and you may feel differently.
Not sure if I missed this part in your review, but how does the Atmos/360 sound bubble on A7000 with the new up-firing rears compare to the A9??
My ht-a5000 sounds absolutely amazing. Even when I didn't have the rear speakers and sub it sounded so well balanced and less 'tin' than my buddies sonos arc. Now with the other speakers it's insane the perfect surround. I love even when I have it quiet it doesn't just turn into pure treble. It adjusts so Well. 10 out of 10
Hi Clay, what other speakers? I have the A5000 for a few years now and I love it.

I have the same combo like you. I paid this combo for around $1200. How much you paid for?
I've had the A5000 with RS3s. Absolutely love the 360 spatial sound mapping. James bond sounds amazing. Some great content.
I’m planning for a5000. But I own a Panasonic smart TV. Any known issues or limitations in pairing with a non Sony tv brand?
@@4eversabi not that I know of. My Sony TV is super old so I don't get any of the benefits of acoustics center sync. It's a pretty solid product. I'd probably recommend the Rs5 rears now having tried them out..
HTA7000, SW5 & SARS5 setup is the best!
I just got a X90K 85 inch -- A7000, SW5 and RS5's, cant wait, BB installing on 02/21
@Telakal Suri yes, it's been a great setup.
Watching this on my OLED with my Sony HT-A9
Honestly, nothing compares to the A9, it is truly amazing.
Watch my review in it and buy it! You won’t regret it.
How is the music on the system?
I've been trying to get the ht-a9 for months now. I don't think it has restocked once this entire year. I really want atmos speakers for my desk and gaming pc and it seems like the only solution that can handle my non home theater style layout.
Great video! Going with the A7000 + Sub + Speakers
Oh yeah. A80j is great and can completely control the A7000
I can't wait for the sound mapping update!

I'm a dragon owner. One would never believe the sound coming out of that monster is a "soundbar"
On-Screen display is missing in HT-A5000, which tells you what Sound Mode [ATMOS/Dolby Digital/DTS] you are in. I had that option in the model Sony G700 Sound Bar.
Excellent video.. just want I was looking for!! Thanks a million. I will likely go for the max configuration here with the new, wireless rears.
@@harrison298so which model did you purchased? I’m also having the same confusion.
Sony HTA 7000 (500 watt) is $ 1699.99, SW3 (200 watt) is $ 499.99, & the SARS3S (100 watts) are $ 449.99
Of course the Sony LED Full Array & OLED TV's, are a lot higher in price than in the USA.
I live in Ontario. Ya prices are much higher for these soundbars. I did buy a 75 x90k for 2700 with 5 years warranty
They’re the same price after exchange rate is figured in. Sometimes the price is lower in Canada
Thanks very much for such a through review of these speaker systems. You have made my purchase choice much easier!
Love my HT-A9, but i agree wish there was a separate center channel add on for dialog.
The TV as center struggles. They need a 5th speaker for that system.

Great video with very good comparisons and recommendations!
I did the review in my bedroom with 8ft ceilings.
@@BTheInstaller Oh that’s good to know. Were the A9’s in the same room for the comparison?
@@BTheInstaller I see. You went out of your way to mention and show your tall ceilings, so I assumed. My apologies.

3 questions -Is there a noticeable difference with the 360 sound mapping update for the a7000? What’s the ‘bubble ‘ like with the rs-3s rears ?
And is the 360 spatial sound mapping as good as the a-9?

I’d also like to know how close the A7000 with the RS5’s are to the A9 in terms of the 360 sound bubble. If it’s negligible, I’ll definitely go with the A7000.
@@ronniehess2136 same here , I’ve been waiting for a-9 since October , if it’s as good as the a7000 + update I’ll go for that
The A7000 is a bit more front heavy but I love it. The HT-A9 has a great sound field but I don't like it for movie dialog as I feel the The other phantom channels overwhelm the main sound. Dune was not as enjoyable on the Ht-a9 with all the quiet talk. Could hear it perfectly on A7000 but slightly less from rears.

When is the sa-rs5 launching? Is the new update available for the A7000? If not, any idea when?
I will be replacing my old Sony system. After watching your video it will not be the HTA9. Haven’t settled on which combo of the other components but most likely the cheaper bar, sub and still waffling on which rears. I don’t have vaulted ceilings and I’m intrigued by additional upfiring speakers on the new rears. Just not sure if it’s worth additional cost.

When will the firmware update for the HT A 5000 for immersive AE and sound modes be available?

Do you have a video of you mounting your a9 system? Trying to find a tutorial on how to mount them.
I’m looking for the sports bar sound where you can hear the game no matter where you’re at. Wondering if the A7000 with RS5 will give me that.
The lack of center channel for the HT-A9 is Sony is hoping it will factor in you picking a Sony TV over an alternative

@B the installer. Are you able to connect more than one pair of surround speakers, and an extra sub to the A7000 sound bar?
Awesome review. Just a question can you add the sony RS5 to HTA9 set up?
So getting the center channel on Sony tv to work, it has to be the J models, not even the H models? Thanks
If I have multiple RS5 speakers (family room and dining room) can each speaker play different things or will they all link to Sony soundbar?
Is Cinema sound mode also good for gaming? It sounds like that mode is the best in general.
For SA SW5, can I make the L speaker and R speaker in different position and angles? And system will calculate the 3D sound mapping? Thanks
I have the A5000 and am considering the surrounds and sub.
Thanks!
Currently I have the RS5's, I was looking to buy the HT-A9 system, do you happen to know if the RS5s and HT-A9 are compatible to work together and would there be any benefit to using both for the same system? Thank you
Do you think that the 2022 models will have a better center channel?
