I’ve long said that Apple should buy Disney. It would be a drop in the bucket for them and give them all sorts of IP and infrastructure to their streaming division.
It also comes with massive world wide theme parks, which apple does not have any institutional knowledge or desire to own. It comes with a lack of synergy for apples core enterprise, electronics. While it does have value for their streaming service, apple already has the cash on hand and expertise to run their streaming service without outside help. the linear TV services would be an albatross to anyone buying Disney as even Disney doesn't have a great plan on how to deal with it. All in all, apple has better things to do with their money then buy a bloated entertainment company just to get access to their back catalog.
1. Elon Musk can’t buy Disney 2. Disney wouldn’t sell to him 3. Disney has had a few rough years but Bob Iger is one of the greatest CEO’s of all time. Objectively. In 3 years max Disney will be 100% back and growing
When I say Elon can’t buy Disney, I mean Disney is valued at $195 billion. Tesla is valued at about $600 billion but Elon only owns 13% of Tesla now, he owned 22% then sold a bunch of stock to buy Twitter for $44 billion. So 13% of 600 billion is 78 billion. He would literally have to sell all of his Tesla stock and even with that it wouldn’t be enough to hold a majority stake in Disney. The guy in the video behind Elon, Nelson Peltz, that they say Elon is partnering with to takeover Disney is only worth 1.5 billion. They would have to take on so many more partners and investors, maybe take bank loans etc to even get close to the money they need. Very very very slim chance.
@@personzorz then he offered to pay far more then the company was worth. if he finds half a trillion dollars to buy Disney, they should let him have it.
🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation: 00:00 🎬 *Speculation on Elon Musk's Interest in Buying Disney* - Elon Musk's comments, tweets, and lawsuits have sparked speculation about his potential interest in purchasing Disney. - Musk's association with Nelson Peltz, criticism of Disney and Bob Iger on Twitter, and support for Gina Carano's lawsuit against Disney contribute to this speculation. 01:38 🐦 *Musk's Criticism of Disney on Twitter* - Musk frequently criticizes Disney and its leadership on Twitter, particularly targeting Bob Iger. - He accuses Disney of wokeness, institutionalized racism, sexism, and poor shareholder service. - Musk's tweets and retweets, along with his vocal opposition to Disney's actions, suggest his dissatisfaction with the company. 03:01 ⚖️ *Support for Gina Carano's Lawsuit Against Disney* - Musk offers to cover legal fees for individuals facing consequences for their tweets, including Gina Carano's lawsuit against Disney. - While Musk's support for Carano's lawsuit indicates his alignment with those critical of Disney, legal challenges may face significant obstacles. - Despite potential limitations, Musk's backing of Carano's lawsuit adds to the perception of his interest in Disney's affairs. 04:38 💰 *Feasibility of a Musk-led Acquisition of Disney* - While Musk's interest in Disney is speculated, the practicality and affordability of such an acquisition are questioned. - Musk's net worth, largely tied up in illiquid assets like Tesla and SpaceX stocks, poses challenges for financing a Disney purchase. - Even if Musk could orchestrate a takeover, Disney's board and stakeholders may resist, complicating the acquisition process. 06:42 🤔 *Musk's Intentions Regarding Disney Ownership* - Despite criticism and speculation, there is little concrete evidence that Musk actively desires to purchase Disney. - Musk's vocal opposition to Disney's actions may simply reflect his personal opinions rather than a strategic desire for ownership. - While Musk's comments and actions raise eyebrows, the feasibility and true intent behind a potential Disney acquisition remain uncertain. Yes. Replacing old well instated story lines with black actors isnt right. I mean come on, they coud've made a movie about one from a THOUSAND beautiful African Folklore. NO they wanted to pat the black community on the back and make a cash grab. If its a new story line, sure including actors from the black, hispanic and asian communities will be morally and logically correct. As we saw in Marvel and Star wars, and other franchises where some of the most celebrated characters were of those communities. Representation matters, but creativity and a reasonable story line is important as well.
"Walt Disney would despise Bob Iger" Considering Walt wasn't exactly cold towards those who expressed anti-semitism, the claim that Disney would hate Iger doesn't really hit as hard as Musk would imagine.

Parks and resorts are still very profitable. The tv side needs to be sold besides espn, entertainment they need to stop putting triple A movies on disney+ because is stealing box office revenue.

It's like seeing the guy you hate and the girl you hate getting married. You know nothing good can come of it, but you also kind of want to see what kind of mess this turns into.
The conservative obsession with oppression is a little odd to me. No one’s saying you can’t be a conservative or that being conservative is a crime. If someone doesn’t like your political views, what right have you to force them to spend time or money with you? Did someone abolish freedom of association last night?
It's fun to watch a dumpster fire when it doesn't affect you. When someone like Elon Musk who already turned Twitter into an even shittier place wants to buy the biggest movie studio . . . It feels like the world is about to take a major step backwards
@@krisrp0 He will come with the usual low hanging fruit just like at Twitter. Budget cuts + monetize anything he can (think Disney+ is expensive now?). The interesting thing is the collateral damage in the process, Disney prides itself on how clean the parks are and well maintained the area is vs the surrounding area to the point that they have their own fire department so it wouldn't surprise me if that disappears in the first week. Then watch as a public meltdown followed by a crap load of toothless lawsuits as various IP enters the public domain (Steamboat Willie was just the first). According to Fidelity investments (one of the investors that helped bankroll the Twitter takeover) twitter has lost 72% of its value since the takeover which concluded in Oct 2022. I sadly think he can run Disney into the ground faster, however I agree with Grasshopper.80, this sure as hell be an interesting watch.
Judging by Disney box office results and Disney plus subscriber numbers from, the only way is up. Disney needs to stop pushing unpopular woke content, bring back strong male leads, and stop with the Mary Sue female leads (normal non-Mary Sue leads would be fine regardless of gender ).

Musk could be considering buying the news and or digital TV companies from Disney since he wants more control of media and news and I don’t think those companies make much money for Disney.
Those linear networks made $11.7 Billion in revenue in FY23 and were the only profitable part of the company's Entertainment segment. Not the highest earning business, but still important to Disney.
You're forgetting that Elon Musk is thinking long-term. A plan to buy Disney or another major movie studio in ten years is more realistic when his wealth is much more.
Pedro Pascal posted a similar controversial and political tweet around the same time as Gina Carano and wasn't fired. I think there are a few angles she could start from in a disney lawsuit. Discrimination, sexism, etc. But ofcourse I am not so familiar with the law in the state she signed the contract in.
America isn't known for it's strong labor laws, exactly because of people like Musk and Bezos making sure to bust every union that might restrict their freedom to employees poorly, companies can pretty much do whatever the fuck they want as long as they don't cheap out on lobbying. He's all "people should never be fired for their tweets" now but the moment his own employees start tweeting "Nazis were actually the bad guys" they'll be looking for a new job by the end of the month.
If he made an offer, the board would have a fiduciary duty to its shareholders to entertain the offer at the very minimum. But they’d also have the evidence to sight that the Twitter takeover was disastrous and there’s no reason to suspect that a Disney takeover wouldn’t be equally disastrous. That being said, I think Musk would have to provide a solid plan to profitability in order for him to acquire serious loans. He would need something in the ballpark of 200 billion dollars from investors and loans. That’s a whole new level of trust that musk would have to acquire, at a time when he is trusted the least.
Elon musk followed by the sentence "Investors might be even more cautious than they were before" is what I have been hearing my entire life. Its not even projection at this point. I feels like his last name. Hearing it means nothing.
Well she did not say "republican" and to your credit you posted it (a bit blurry but you did it and with a pause a person can read it, good job.). Xland and Xworld just don't have the same ring to it. I really hope they don't let him bring Disney down like he did Twitter.
Is it actually possible for them to get worse than they are right now? Maybe if every character is named X so we have no idea who anyone is XD
Or if all the movies are canceled and replaced with the letter X on a screen for an hour (at least it'd be more pleasant to watch than most modern disney trash.)
@@kx2174disney had the second biggest box office revenue last year of all the major studios. You may not like their movies, but they make money, unlike Elon's Twitter.
He doesn’t have anywhere NEAR enough money to buy Disney. He’s lost BILLIONS on Twitter. Disney is SO DIVERSE, it owns dozens and dozens and dozens of companies and properties.
We at the Galactic Empire hope that Mr. Musk purchases Disney.
gina's lawsuit is for discrimination, pablo pascal also made political comments and was not fired. Surprise.
All Musk has to do is wait for a year or two and he will probably get Disney for free.
Little detail, Musk isn't the richest man in the world anymore. That title now belongs to Arnault.
I’ve long said that Apple should buy Disney. It would be a drop in the bucket for them and give them all sorts of IP and infrastructure to their streaming division.
I know Iger has brought it up before. And they were quick to line up Disney content for the Vision Pro. We'll see what happens.
@@edwxx20001 Absolutely. Killers of the Flower Moon’s performance is a great example of that.
God I hope not. Disney is one of the few corporations I actually quite like. I would immediately stop giving them my money if Musk were in charge.
Ah shit, here we go again...
If he does he will stuff it up further than already have. It will be another X!
Twitter has grown even after firing most of the employees and losing advertisers. They reached breakeven after years of losses.
Elon is just the Chief Troll Officer here, nothing will happen.
That's what they said about xitter
@@personzorz And many of his achievements.
@@personzorz then he offered to pay far more then the company was worth. if he finds half a trillion dollars to buy Disney, they should let him have it.
@@personzorz People act like Twitter was some major platform. It really never was. Disney is worth 5x what Musk overpaid for Twitter.
He is just giving the media something to get all excited about...and here we are someone making a video on his off the hand comment.

Garbage. A 4th grader could create a better, and shorter, outline.
Would this mean we would have actual Danish people playing roles in Danish fairy tales again?
@@LiamTheta-dd9tj'Okay, now we have ticked each and every box there is. Now we just need to steal a story.'
LOL 😂
Exactly, they are just lazy. They are recreating movies. I mean i would be alright if they at least did it right. @@mikitz
Bob Iger is just horrible.
@@LiamTheta-dd9tjwhy it isn't right? These are fairy tales. The race doesn't matter. It's fantasy.

After Twitter, I don't think the shareholders are gonna be happy
He would call is X-ney. He would make Mickey and X. He would make Minnie an X.
"Walt Disney would despise Bob Iger"
Considering Walt wasn't exactly cold towards those who expressed anti-semitism, the claim that Disney would hate Iger doesn't really hit as hard as Musk would imagine.
So Musk doesnt want to make properganda movies, He wants a whole studio to make them.
JUST DO IT
stop ruining things please Elon...
I mean, Disney have been shit for years now, can't get much worse
Elon: hold my beer.
Now, think very carefully before saying that again
@@personzorz I mean, they've already reached the point, as far as I'm concerned, where I don't watch anything they release anymore (not because its "woke" or anything, but because its bad). It can't get much worse than this as far as I'm concerned. At least if this monstruosity crash and burn it'll make space for better company to appear
Parks and resorts are still very profitable. The tv side needs to be sold besides espn, entertainment they need to stop putting triple A movies on disney+ because is stealing box office revenue.
Well disney is already doing poorly, might as well speed up the failure
If Musk has offered to defend anyone cancelled over tweets, has Musk actually defended any leftists (or even any liberals/centrists) or has he only defended right wingers and transphobes who get in trouble?? I know of a few anarchists/communists who have got in trouble for their non-mainstream political views - I'd like to see him defend them if this really comes down to free speech lol.
So we are going to see a sequel to the Musk-Twitter meltdown? (As if we don't see sequels enough - especially from Disney😋)
They got rid of splash mountain 😢
Disney is NOT going woke it (IS) woke.... YOU (TLDR) sounds like you really do NOT want him to buy Disney ....
As much as I am disappointed with Disney, I personally wouldn't want Elon to acquire it.
Buy WBD too so we can have Bugs and Mickey as well as Batman and Spider-Man teamups
It's like seeing the guy you hate and the girl you hate getting married. You know nothing good can come of it, but you also kind of want to see what kind of mess this turns into.
What to get you, butter or caramel popcorn?
The conservative obsession with oppression is a little odd to me. No one’s saying you can’t be a conservative or that being conservative is a crime. If someone doesn’t like your political views, what right have you to force them to spend time or money with you? Did someone abolish freedom of association last night?
Buy it & mars Mars movies : )
I think this is a great idea. I would love to watch a landfill fire of this takeover.
Painful memories of the elon Simpsons episode 😢. Biggest missed opportunity. 🍦 on him. Didn't bring back the monorail guy or song.
I will Definitely Respect Disney AGAIN if Elon Musk Buys Disney and changes it back to the way it was as a Walt Disney Legacy Not Black Lives Matter Legacy or Bob Iger I will stand with Elon Musk if he restores Splash Mountain and Jungle Cruise I will stand with Elon Musk if He puts Walt back in Disney I Like Elon Musk and I Believe Job is for Elon
he must really hate disney too like twitter
I'm sure Bob Iger is just thrilled to, aside from an activist Investor coup on his board and tanking box office numbers, now also deal with a petty childish billionaire throwing money at his ego issues 😅
He cant afford it…
Tax. Him. This is insane. We cannot have one person control this much of our culture. He's talking about buying Disney like I would a new tv.
The last line is “There’s little evidence that he actually does want to buy it” … yet you’ve made a whole video about it? Lol
Haha yes the irony… 🤣
Love the way the left brand themselves the “progressive left” 😂
Logic says yes, then whom would you rather own Disney media, I’d work to keep it in the remaining Disney family, even save it and make it more WOke
You're supposed to inform not indoctrinate.
Carano didn't compare Republicans to Jews. She said the government was dividing the people to make it easier to attack the dissenters.
Nowhere in her post does she mention republicans. 🤦
Also the basis isn't necessarily a first amendment protection. The basis is disparate treatment among employees because other Disney actors stirred up controversy and even killed movies, but they were retained.
I hope he does
Apple would do that
Magic players ask the question “could Elon buy Wizards of the coast instead?”
Rather than focussing on growing his business and improving his tesla product...he is interested in being a celebrity.
BYD will destroy Tesla
Hell NO! He ruins everything he buys his way into, I mean look what he did to Twitter!
As someone who no longer cares about Disney I see this as an absolute win.
The destruction of Disney shortly to be renamed X2 will be the best thing Disney has produced in years.
There will be a buyer for Disney but only after the current management sends the stock 90% lower.
Disney stock is up 25% in the last 6 months. So sure, that's totally going to happen....
@@ThatGuy-bz2in Iger is doing what the market wants, he's has been reducing spending and refocusing on "sure hit" sequels.
I sold my Disney a couple of years ago at $190 so this rally gives sellers another opportunity to get out. The ugly truth is that if management is not replaced, they will not be in business in 20 years and they are far from the only legacy company in this position..@@ThatGuy-bz2in

Well, Musk's thinking is Mickey Mouse enough to make the match make sense.
Elon should not be buying anymore companies. He should be consolidating what he already owns, and building on those brands.

2024 video technology: 13 hours later, people on earth are still waiting for a single picture from the moon in real time on Live.... 🤕
4:09 You said Disney is a private business. Disney is public company.
I cant believe you havent mentioned the Disney lead attacks to get advertisers to stop advertsing on twitter. That is what started it all
The last statement before your little ad break answered the whole video watching this was a huge waste of time
You're forgetting that Elon Musk is thinking long-term. A plan to buy Disney or another major movie studio in ten years is more realistic when his wealth is much more.
To be fair he couldn't make Disney any worse than it is now.
It’s very easy to remake it need first to fire everyone there and hire again
So..... you made a video about something that's very unlikely...
What was the point?
I would tend to agree with the sentiment, polarization is not new and without a check on "mainstream thinking" (left or right) war becomes very likely outcome. Look at Russia, or what happened post 911, without sudden and almost blind support for Bush there is no way an Iraq invasion could have taken place.
I always thought Iger was after it himself.
So much misinformation in this video... musk is not anti-Semite for starters... do your researchc
