- Today's video talks about how I did at my first RTT for Age of Sigmar 4th edition! I learned A bit with the Fyreslayers and I breakdown what I thought went well as well as spots where the army could use some improvements! So let me know down in the comments what you think!

Thanks for the reasonable take on your games. Interesting to listen to. The commentary on the battles was really helpful cause im looking at getting a fyreslayer army together for my first AOS army. Not discouraged, just will be realistic when i get started!
@@dtrgilmore Thank you! I try to be as positive as I can when it comes to these things but I also want to make sure I at least provide a little context. Especially when I genuinely brought a goofy nonsense list to a full GT 😂. Glad you enjoyed it!
Played a few games now with Fyreslayers and 4th definately seems to be monster season again as no longer driven to "core" units to meet requirements most lists i see 2-3 monsters.
Currently playing with the below and will be taking it to my first GT at the end of November.
Looking at tournament stats there is a heavy use of certain battleplans which have a 50-50 split friendly/enemy territory hence the lean into forge brethren.

@@andrewrutherford2431 Yeah that already has more beef and tactical play to it! The Runesmiter is also looking essential for Battle tactics alone, plus deepstriking hearthguard can absolutely pump out damage!
I've played a couple games against Fyreslayers, and they've routinely been a little slow against my nighthaunt and fleshcourts, and their t-shirt saves and wards don't sit well against a grind army. In addition, I agree with your assessment on the heroes--they crumble real fast if you look hard at them.
@@cornucopiaofpleasure2988 Yeah they feel a lot weaker than they should. Like I understand they are shirtless berzerkers but they should either punch harder or be a bit more hardy.
I have found this list to work.
Smiters are needed for tactics.

I'll have to take a look at that one! Do you just keep the Hearthguard near the heroes for the 5+ ward?
@@TattooedTabletop pretty much
Deploy around the runefather if enemy has any shooting
Go for board quarters tactic T1 by dropping the runesmiters out and push up the board
Deepstriking shooters can get some damage on and priest smiter can try pop out runewall to do some mw
Then the runesmiters can take the flanks and take their land whilst the hearth guard push forward staying close to heroes for the ward at all times
Then just time runes correctly
I kind of feel like seize the center turn 1 can be a really big trap against a lot of armies. My seraphon and IDK both punish is super hard. Esp if they get the double
@@itsbaffle1950 Absolutely! Especially IDK have some great damage profiles along with speed!
Our HG need their 4+ ward with a hero within 10'' back. When our unit charge, the foot hero behind cant keep up. If their intention is for us to stay on objectives and tank, we need either some reccurence or better saves or fight on death. Usually, if an army can't move, they should be tanky AF or hit HARD.
@@kevinlemieux-gagnon2454 Agreed. It either needs to be more durable somewhat or punch a lot harder 🤙
Hi bud, Fyreslayers player here, not competitive, I enjoy just full sending an army. I've got about 1800 points ATM and looking to possibly start another army. What would you suggest as a faction just to pile a load of hard hitters into the middle of the battlefield? Ironjawz, Stormcast, Ogors?
@@dalisgalvin21 Off the top of my head, IJ is definitely a blunt force Army! I would say though SCE also have some absolutely powerhouses in the Dracothian guard variants with a Stardrake! I'm gonna give my Stormcast a go and see how I get on!
@@TattooedTabletop I've got Skaventide so I do have some SCE. Aesthetically I really like the Ogors but I'm not sure I fancy shelling out for models that old. If they are to get a range refresh my bank balance is in trouble. I may look at getting some Ironjawz but I should get a good 2k Fyreslayers first.
The suggestions around the internet seem to be that Slaves to Darkness play now how Ironjawz are supposed to. Varanguard and Belechor seem to be mentioned a lot.
@@martinmountford1981 interesting. I'm not really into S2D aesthetically. I might get a quick 1k of Ironjawz to have a go with. SOB are also tempting but v expensive
Does anyone know where to check for Age of Sigmar GTs and tournaments at large? I wanna get into AOS but really don't know where to find competitive spaces.
@@Noctis198 I would highly recommend watching The Honest Wargamer. He does a good job covering larger GT events, but if you're talking about looking for some, BCP (Best Coast Pairings) is the best way 👍
Went 1:4 with Khorne aswell. Feel you
@@olafolafsson2755 I am also hoping Khorne gets a lift! Khorne is my favorite of the AoS Chaos factions!
Here a Fyres owner....Fyres need to be FULL reworked. Cant win tactics, cant win combats quickly enough, cant almost move....magmadroths are useless... gw need to think what is the way for this dorfs. Sad dorf here
I think some components work well like the Runes as traits, but I agree that there is a decent amount that needs to be revisited. It would be 1 thing if we kept our slow movement, but were punchy enough to do significant damage. Right now I have a friend who found a list he feels more comfortable to actually score, buuuuut it's 6-7 Grimwrath Berzerkers 2 Exiles, and some other stuff lol
@@TattooedTabletop 7 grimwrath????? epic will try it
Yep! Then he added a flamekeeper since you will absolutely be able to start rolling under the number of units killed for extra boosts lol
Feel those Ogor woes. Insane health pool
@@tbarf Absolutely insane! There were definitely times my damage popped off and I still only removed like 3 models at most!
