Huh, didn't know Oliver made a crawler :) Seems to really strike it's own way forward both in looks and operation.

As a late buddy of mine would always say when he saw an Oliver. "That's all of her, John Dear" Thanks for doing these equipment walkarounds. They are very interesting and educational!

I am a Oliver fan and the person who owns this crawler is my old friend Mike Zins of cologne, Mn.
I knew Mike for many years and he has a huge collection of Oliver and cletrac crawlers

A different style of air intake horn. Very cool design.

Hello. In some old boat diesel engine, compressed air were used to start it. Did somebody try this on tractor ?

Big old Oliver for sure. Hey did you see the cat with the enclosed cab behind you? Lol

Looks like the Cat setup of the old hydraulic boosters for steering clutches driven off the tranny would've been easier but there might've been an infringement issue there. I've run several cranes that were air assist but would just as soon have the straight manual. Probably the same deal with this and I like the air raid siren air intake. Thanks, Toby! YOu come up with the wildest stuff!

I always let everything warm up a dab. I even put an adjustable throttle on my generator for the same purpose.

What a cool heavy iron hobby. Delicate looking controls compared to hydronic. I wonder how well they worked in the winter.

Ya I did not know their track machines got that bigI knew their farm tractor line got fairly large. Them & Cletrack stayed in the D-2- D-4 size. Beautiful old crawler.
    For sure....
    Thanks for the share.....

Thx for bringing this video to us 👍 I found this same model in a guys yard in Western Australia. Had me stumped what it was- a Hercules engine and weird layout! I hadn't known Oliver built tractors that size. I see OC3s all the time, but never one like that.

Just curious, But are you Canadian? Because I've noticed that Canadians use the word "Unit" for just about anything that has a movie part and even some that don't.

Great video that is one big Oliver. I have a 1800 Oliver diesel it is not even close to that that big it has a waukesha in it . But it sure purrs when running. And reasonable on fuel. 😊

I would love to hear and see this one running. I have a 'thing' about a diesel engine running.
I don't know why, but I do know, from talking to friends over the years, that I am not alone when it come to good sounds created by a diesel engine.

Yes, 'Squatch253',...a lengthy ( well 10 minutes or so ) warm up wouldn't hurt a bit for sure. I have seen some of the smaller 4 cylinder Hercules diesels in operation, but not not seen this 6 cylinder model.
The fact that you missed this one, is O.K. as you've done some great videos here and to have missed this is certainly OK with me,...you can't be everywhere can you?
      Thanks again.

You're right Lewie McNeely, from one cylinder up to the largest number of cylinders , they all make good music to me.
      Cheers.
